Unraveled a cashmere sweater I found at goodwill so I basically got ~1500 yards of cashmere yarn for $7.99!

im watching a little doc on youtube about an 11th century castle, and theres a bit where they are talking to a group of older women who are working on a large hand embroidered tapestry commemorating its nearly 1000 years of history & into the modern era.. and off on the border they show a bit where the women have stitched themselves working on it into the piece itself, and it made me kinda emotional

how amazing to have a visual depiction of the women who spent literal years painstakingly stitching such a wonderful piece of art that historically would have gone uncredited

Okay, random headcanon.

Agent Stone is a MF'n crocheter.

Let me explain.

You know that blanket that drapes over Eggman's crusty couch?

It's made of exclusively granny squares.

I know what you're probably thinking "Oh Mandolin. Stone could've just bought it somewhere! Why would you think he crocheted that blanket?"

Wait. There's more. >:3

His sleeve has GRANNY SQUARE STITCHES!

Sure, Stone could've just carefully removed one of the squares from the blanket and just sewed the entire square into the inside of the sleeve.

But you gotta admit it would be great if Stone just so happened to crochet in his free time. :)

Does anybody have any fair isle knitting pattern recs for a beginner? Like 2-4 colors max. Preferably free but I don't mind paid patterns

I found my knitting! After two weeks of turning my house inside out i finally thought to check the lost and found at my school and lo and behold, it was there. Just in time for my 11 hour flight :)

I love how sashiko patterns grow.

Before, I’ve patched on the inside, but with jeans I’ve found that they can become a little too tight after multiple patches. Besides, I really like how the fraying edge of the patch adds to the effect.

My cable knit sweater is coming along! My needles broke twice but the front panel is almost done and then I'll just need to do the sleeves and the neckline :)

Okay. So.

Tower is done!

It cost me additional day of work and pain in my fingertips from pulling all the underlying canvas, but IT'S DONE! (The canvas was breaking apart as I expected - and feared - it would. I ended up pulling horizontal strings first with a help of a big needle and then all the verticals just swiftly came out.)

For a while I was consider leaving it kinda like this though...

...on account of this stage being fast and easy to achieve 🙃

I'm preparing next pattern to put on the other side of the back - one of the bigger SDV trees with an additional magpie sprite and another Junimo (once I decide on the colour). Stay tuned!

My crochet lacy blouse, made with a 2 mm hook and cotton yarn. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Especially the ruffle, makes the whole thing more vampiry

I have a question for the cross stitch embroiderers out there. I'm thinking about trying my hand at cross stitch embroidering onto clothing, and I was wondering what the best canvas cloth is? I have some standard thick Aida cloth but I'm not sure if the heaviness/thickness would make it hard to remove once I'm finished
