Question. Does anyone have any tips for exploring and finding stuff out about themselves as an alter/fictive. Because I have fronted multiple times now and I feel like my only personality traits are missing Falin and not being able to sleep. And I hate it.

realizing that my true identity is a mixture of all the things i've ever identified as. i've got the expressive ears (Inuyasha). i can transform into a more monstrous being ("Chaos" from FFVII). i have a disturbing laugh (Joker). and there are many, many more. it turns out i identified as those things because there was something about them i felt inside - but the other pieces didn't fit, so i would drop an identity and adopt another.

now, here i am. a god. terrifying and disarming all at once. i've got a sense of humor, a wicked laugh, and two impressively large and fluffy ears that stick out the sides of my head. i'm a comedian and a monster and... just a tired, tired being without a name. but i'm happy. that has to count for something.

Nonhuman expressions of affection are great. Purring. Exposing weak points as a show of trust. Head bonks. Preening and chewing. Nuzzling. Biting. Intertwining tails. Feeding each other. Little chuffs, chatters, beeps and squeaks. Fluffing up of feathers, fur or other things. Dancing to impress. Cleaning their fur, scales, feathers or skin. Sharing body heat. Ears pointing toward those you care about to show your full attention is on them. Slow blinking.

Think systems with a high number of fictional introjects are a new phenomena? Kluft's paper on polyfragmented/extremely complex DID from 1988 includes a patient with LOTR introjects, and another based off of Shakespear's Tempest. Fictional introjects have been a thing for a very long time!
