Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Easter - Part 1
”The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, and the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.“

The Purpose of John’s Gospel (and of the complete Holy Bible):
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.  But these are written that you may believe  that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

THANK YOU LORD. Jesus never said he would leave us a BOOK, The Bible is man made..Christ said he’d gift us with the companionship of THE HOLY SPIRIT which is LIVING TRUTH; his power &The Most Highs combined into one omnipotent unfathomable divine entity. Christ’s martyrdom; story of betrayal and costly sacrificial spiritual weight strengthens your connection to Higher Powers if you truly believe in the faithfulness of fate. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALIVE &REAL. And has been around B.C..If you seek, you shall find the light. I’m so thankful to be chosen &blessed. GOD YOU ARE SO GOOD !!

HER STORY: Leaders in the Cause of Christ, Mary of Magdala, a Disciple of Jesus
Like the five men called to be disciples at the beginning of John's Gospel, and the woman at the well in Samaria in Chapter 4, Mary of Magdala's story includes all twelve elements unique to Jesus's call. #MaryMagdalene #John20 #WomanDisciple
Though Mary of Magdala is a well-known figure in the gospels, she is not introduced by name until Jesus’s crucifixion in John’s Gospel (John 19:25). John doesn’t explain who she is, or what her relationship is to Jesus or his family, but there she is, with John and Mary, Jesus’s mother. That alone says how important she was to Jesus’s inner circle. In fact, Mary of Magdala is the only other…

John 20, Reed's Version
Early on Sunday morning, before sunrise, Mary Magdalene went out to visit the tomb. Now, a large stone had been over the opening to the tomb, but when Mary got there she saw that it was moved. So she ran to tell Simon Peter and the student Jesus loved. “They took the lord!” she said, “And we don’t know what they’ve done with him!” So Peter and the other student left for the tomb at once. They were both running together, but the other student outran Peter and got there first. When he got to the tomb he didn’t go in, only stooping down to peer in. But he saw nothing inside except a pile of linen strips. Simon Peter arrived a moment later and went right on into the tomb. He looked at the linen strips lying there, and also noticed the towel that goes over the face, folded up and lying in a different spot from the strips. Then the other student came inside, the one who had arrived first, and saw and believed. You see, they didn’t yet understand that the scriptures foretold that he would rise from the dead. So then the two of them left and went back to where they were staying.
But Mary lingered outside the tomb, weeping. And as she stood there weeping, she peered into the tomb and saw two angels sitting there in bright white clothes! One was at the head of the slab and the other at the feet, where Jesus’s body had been. They asked her, “Ma’am, why are you crying?” “Because they took my lord,” she replied, “and I don’t know what they’ve done with him!” Right then she noticed someone standing behind her. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize him. Jesus said to her, “My friend, why are you crying? Who is it you’re looking for?” But thinking he was the gardener, she told him, “Sir, were you the one who took his body? If so, please tell me so I can go get it.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned again to him and exclaimed, “Rabbi!” (which in Aramaic means, “Teacher”) and threw her arms around his knees. But Jesus told her, “There’s no need to hang on to me; I’m not leaving just yet. But right now I need you to go tell my brothers that I say, ‘I’m about to ascend to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.’” So Mary ran and told the students, “I have seen the lord!” And she told them what Jesus had told her to say.
Later that Sunday, when it was evening, the students were gathered together, but they had the doors locked because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them and said, “Hello! Be at peace.” Then he showed them his hands and his side. The students were overjoyed to see the lord, and Jesus said again, “Be at peace. Just like the Father sent me, I in turn am sending you.” Then he blew on them and said, “Receive Holy Spirit.” Then he said, “If you all forgive someone’s sins, then they are forgiven in heaven; if you don’t forgiven someone’s sins, then they remain unforgiven in heaven.”
But Thomas (whose name means, “twin”) wasn’t with them when Jesus appeared. The other students tried to convince him that they had seen Jesus, but he told them, “Unless I see the nail wounds in his hands and put my finger in them and put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe it’s him!” Well, a week later on the following Sunday, when the students were gathered again in the locked room with Thomas there, Jesus again came in. He stood there among them and said to them, “Hello! Be at peace.” Then he addressed Thomas. “Here, Thomas, come put your finger here and feel my hands. Reach out and feel my side with your hand. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas exclaimed to him, “My Lord! My God!” “So now you believe,” Jesus asked, “now that you’ve seen me with your own eyes? God is pleased with those who will believe without seeing.”
Now Jesus did many other miracles in the presence of his students which are not recorded in this book. But these stories were chosen so that you would [come to] have faith that Jesus is God’s chosen one, even His own Son, so that through faith you will have eternal life in him.

Jesus Shows Up (John 20:19-31)
When Jesus shows up, there is peace.
The Doubt of St. Thomas, by He Qi It was still the first day of the week. That evening, while the disciples were behind closed doors because they were afraid of the Jewish authorities, Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you.”After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. When the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy.Jesus said to them again, “Peace…

JOHN S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 20
Monday, 4/1/24
SCRIPTURE:
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” ~ John 20:21
OBSERVATION:
This sounds "encouraging" and all that...
...but how was Jesus sent by the Father?
Humbly -
born in a manager...
raised in the capital of the middle of nowhere...
in His service...
in His Father's Word...
Boldly -
in His message...
in His service...
in His Father's Word...
Sacrificially -
His life for others - for mine...
in His service to others - not just His disciples (friends and family)...
in His obedience to His Father's Word...
in His Father's will in stead of His Own...
Still, He had to tell them yet again...
to calm their "post-crucifixion" anxiety and fears ("Peace be with you...")
to step out humbly and boldly in the ways He had shown them... ("As the Father...sent [Him]...)
Personalizing this verse becomes: "Peace - His peace - is with me. As the Father sent Him, so He also sends me..."
APPLICATION:
Go -
humbly...
boldly...
peacefully, peaceably...
sacrificially...
in Him as His...
Live "sent..."
PRAYER: (Including a reference to verse 14)
Heavenly Father God - I confess to often trying to make my own peace, and ask Your forgiveness for forgetting Jesus's example of bold humility... for turning around and not realizing His presence in all things at all times... Thank You for His example of living and going in Your Power, and may I go about my day-to-day, minute-to-minute thoughts and actions sent in the same way You sent Him... for You and others first... In His Name, and gratefully for Your grace and to give You all the glory...
Humbly yours - boldly in Him...

‭John‬ ‭20:24‭-‬29‬ ‭
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
