so @noobsomeexagerjunk and I have been having lots of conversations about the dream smp and have basically drafted several posts that we’ll post soon but i wanted to share this one first because i saw a post that reminded me of it

there are apparently rumors that there may be a server reset next year for the upcoming update, i assume like how hermitcraft does every season

now there has to be a reason in the story for them to transition to a new server. for hermitcraft it’s already in the lore that they move regularly, so what’s the reason for the dream smp?

this links to how we think dream will be ultimately defeated.

he could always have a change of heart and become good which yeah, is very possible, with lots of prodding and persuading

but what if that’s not the case? or if the current server becomes so damaged that they can no longer rebuild it?

they could try to kill dream but with his status as a god, it’s kind of hard to do so

this made us drift to the possibility of using a command block or someone getting op’ed and using /kill on dream

or, or, alternatively, dream is the one to do the final /kill or /stop

perhaps he has the aforementioned change of heart, and decides to reset the server out of mercy, so they can truly start anew

or if he doesn’t turn good, maybe he realizes that he’s lost all control through certain circumstances and stops the server in a panic; kind of in a “if i cant have it no one can” situation but more extreme than just blowing it up

or maybe someone does manage to kill him, and server resets automatically because it’s connected to him or something

nevertheless the server gets reset, and everyone is free once again, free to restart and hopefully not mess things up like last time

imagine their possessions are wiped as well, so the discs are gone and it saves us a whole restart

and then

dream is reincarnated

as a mortal

and he’s all good and stuff and everything is fine and peaceful and people can start healing

though dream has to cope with not having any powers anymore

maybe he’ll actually have a stable relationship with fundy

or a stable relationship with anyone really

there is the possibility that dream will try to gain power again and still be an asshole but my redemption arc-loving ass goes “nah” so

tldr; server reset + dream becoming mortal so he’s no longer higher than anyone + dream redemption arc pog

Quackity’s stream really made me believe in Sapnap supremacy

Okay, so, if George is not king anymore, then what’s the point on exiling Tommy in the first place? (besides the fact he threatened to burn spirit cause dream seems like the kind of guy to not appreciate not being in control if you know what i mean)

I’m just saying, cause Dream said George doesn’t care anyways but then if that’s the case then why start beef with Tommy?

Because Dream was accusing George of “acting all sad” and “being a baby” when he got dethroned but when Tommy burnt his house Dream decided to take it personally?

He also said he wanted to stop conflict and that that’s why he didn’t like Tommy, cause he starts conflict, which is fair enough, I would believe that, besides the fact it comes from mr. self proclaimed chaos, who started the whole situation over a minor conflict that didn’t involve him.

Cause it was ultimately George’s problem, it was his house, Dream kinda just took it as an excuse to fuck Tommy up, under the excuse that “he can’t do that, your vice just burnt down our king’s house” to later dethrone him???

Besides that there’s his personal relationships, idk he just seemed very dissmisive with Sapnap’s concerns, and said he was only siding with Quackity and George cause “oh, he’s just mad”. 

Like, dream??? this isn’t an everyday kinda mad??? he’s actually upset??? you said yourself, he thinks you don’t care, but you’re really not telling him wrong?

And, again, he brushes it off when George is upset about his kingship, like i get it but he’s your friend??? you can try being less condescending yknow? 

i’m just ranting at this point, i’m sorry, had a lot of thoughts after the stream, it’s 4am i should probably sleep

One of the things I loved tonight about Quackity’s performance is you could tell he was holding back from absolutely going off on Dream. Like this man so badly wanted to decimate Dream but knew that anything he said could be used against him in the meeting tomorrow so he stayed silent. Like holy shit!! Also bonus points to Dream with that hurtful line about how Quackity pooled his votes with Schlatt. LIKE JESUS THESE BLOCK MEN AMAZE ME EVERYTIME!!!!

something that irked me so much with [smp] dream’s argument tonight was just the complete lack of nuance regarding george, the kingship, lmanburg, all of it, and his disregard for the consequences or impact of his actions.

I think that New L'manberg should totally use the fact that George isn't king anymore to not exile Tommy.

Because the biggest issue with him (and Ranboo) griefing George's lesbian cottage was that he, as a representative of L'manberg, was publicly attacking the king of the dream smp. Whether they wanted it or not their actions weren't going to go unnoticed. Mostly because, all of the people involved are important. I have seen some people say others (captain puffy i think) have done similar things, but none of those situations included the vp of L'manberg and the (at the time) king.

And now the person they attacked doesn't even have power. I even think that now George has left the dream smp land for good, like sapnap, quackity and him were all saying that the only thing they need is mexican l'manberg, or maybe he just left it until he gets to be king again idk.

The fact that Drram dethroned George is actually bad for him in various ways.

He said it himself. Appointing Eret as king gives him less power. He can't control Eret the way he could have controlled George. Eret doesn't need to listen to Dream but due to George's and Dream's friendship, George would have done what Dream asked him to more likely, because they are friends.

Dream openly admitted to Quackity that he cares about George because George is his friend. Flashback to the whole "I've lost all care" situation. Quackity knows Dream can be blackmailed, he saw it with his own eyes. He now knows what his weakness is. Tbh, I don't think Quackity is a person to personally blackmail someone but Tommy is. With this knowledge, Tommy can do a lot of damage.

The split between the Dream Team. Dream was mostly a loner and was never really associated with anyone, except George and Sapnap. Breaking them apart will lead to Dream being alone. Maybe that's what he wanted all the time. To be free of feelings, so no one can have leverage on him. At the same time, he just lost all his allies, who would possible help him if he ever were in some sort of peril.

In the end of the day, only the future can tell. Maybe Dream was selfless, like he called himself. Because dethroning George helped his enemies more than ever.

What if George decides to stand with L'Manburg? As an act of revenge for taking his throne?

Dream himself stated, he did this to protect George. But what if George stands on the opposite side?

He can't go into a war with L'Manburg if George will be on their side. He can't protect George if he is literally fighting a war against him.

Maybe George wasn’t good at being a neutral king but he did not deserve to be dethroned and humiliated like that
