the Nike ad that has some folks going nuts because it features Colin Kaepernick. But does it matter that a corporation is capitalizing from Kaepernick's crusade?

Nike’s choice to make the erstwhile quarterback Colin Kaepernick a face of their latest campaign isn’t so much a defiant recognition of dissent as an acknowledgment of the directions in which sports culture has travelled.

Dallas mural gives Cowboys' Dak Prescott the 'Get Out' treatment for his national anthem stance
Artist Trey Wilder painted Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott on one of the Fabrication Yard graffiti walls in West Dallas, Saturday, August 4, 2018. He also tagged it with words of 'Mericas Team' and '#QB' and '#Freedom'. The face appears to be a morph between the Get Out movie character and the Cowboys player. "Honestly, I just think it's the whole idea of everything going on: the NFL, police protests. This is something that is seriously going on everywhere. I was just thinking about some of the scenes in the movie where the guy was hypnotized, and that's what I believed [Prescott's] remarks seemed like. There's been no hate, really. It's all love right now. I usually get a lot of feedback, so hopefully that hate comes soon." Wilder said. Wilder will debut his work publicly for the first time at an exhibition from Aug. 20-26 at Fort Worth's Ridgmar Mall In remarks last week, Prescott said he respects players' rights to kneel, but it's not for him. "I respect what all those guys believe in," Prescott said. "If they believe it's going to make a change and it's going to make a difference, then power to them. But for me, I believe in doing something, action. It's not about taking a knee. It's not necessarily about standing. We can find a different place to make our country better."
