The positive thing about Zs LVs contract (besides the money which should be EXTREMELY good) is that they don't use Z extensively so it helps to reduce her overexposure. Also Z was able to negotiate an extremely flexible contract, allowing her to wear other designers and to use custom LV designs if she doesn't like whatever Ghesquiere is making. Compare Zs looks to any looks from their other ambassadors

What I would give to read that contract 😄 kudos to her and her team! I don't even need to know the financial figures but I want to know the overall terms and special clauses 😂

I agree about LV 😭 but I did like the murakami campaign and the giant Z on the beach, very glamorous. I do want them to pull off one iconic original campaign tho, idk just something for the books

Lol, that's LV for you. They have the most money but the creative is always so basic and uninspired. It's like they said we have Zendaya, that's enough. And it usually is 😂 but still, more imagination would be welcome. Literally any other brand she worked with in recent years has done better work with her than them.

As a Dune connoisseur and fan first, is there anything that Denis could choose to do or not do in the third movie and his adaptation that would disappoint you? I remember than when the second film came out, some people were annoyed they hadn’t stuck to the source material with Chani but just overall. Was Timothee a good Paul? People seem to dig him and thought he was good, I remember the praise… but I had a hard time seeing him as anything other than Timothee. But that’s maybe because I’m more used to his real persona and not as an actor. I really liked CMBYN but never watched Wonka or any of his other movies

Well... I don't want to write an essay so I will try to keep it short. 😄 No adaptation is perfect, and I understand he needs to make this material palatable for casual audiences, but I wish he kept more of the weirdness of the Dune series. I will forever mourn that we did not get baby Alia killing the Baron or the spice orgy. Or for Chani that they didn't keep the familial connection with Liet and Pardot Kynes. Especially the part when Liet dies and thinks of Pardot's words "No more terrible disaster could befall your people then for them to fall into the hands of a hero". This scepticism would have tied in nicely with this version of Chani (but for that purpose it makes sense that they dropped her being a sayyadina).

TC was a good Paul, I have seen a couple of movies he was in and had no real issue with him. I did not see Laurie 😄

As for the third movie, it would disappoint me if they shy away too much from the politics of the Dune universe and religious fervor and consequences of the jihad. Movie watchers have no idea about the Landsraad and how the great houses operate, the role of the guild and how navigators look like (eg. I fear he won't show Edric), who the Tlleilaxu are etc. These are all important pieces in the overall plot. I understand that you can't have everything from the books in the movies but he omitted so much from the world building and simplified it that I can't fathom how he will pull it off, especially if they combine it with (parts of?) CoD. We could get a very shallow adapatation that looks great visually but lacks substance.

But let's see. At this point we are just guessing, no one outside of that set knows really anything. I am hopeful he delivers a satisfying end to his trilogy.

I'm really curious about how much Zendaya is going to record for this movie, or if she's already done something in this time. When she arrived in Budapest before everyone else, we usually think it's because of fittings, etc., but could they have filmed something about her alone with extras? idk, will her death be in the middle or near the end of the movie? like, what are the actors that are playing as her kids doing there already lmao

We don't know where Chani's story picks up in this third movie. In the book she starts in Arrakeen with Paul because they are on the same page. But she probably won't be at the start of this movie because of how the second one ended. Maybe she is on her own or with some Fremen rebels. Maybe they shot that, who knows.

As for the kids, maybe they are already born after the 2nd movie, or they will be just used for visions like Chani in the first, or they will rush through the plot of Messiah and include parts of Children of Dune - either chronologically or they will mesh together the timelines and combine the plots in some way. The possibilities are endless with all these rumors and the kids' casting.

In the book Chani dies in the penultimate chapter, but we have no clue what and how they will adapt the story for the movie 🤷‍♀️

Lol. In theory he can do whatever he wants but I do expect him to keep the fates of the characters in line with the books. There is no point in keeping her alive, there is no plot for her in future films if the studio keeps making them. But her death is a price Paul has to pay for the path he has chosen and it raises the emotional stakes for the audience.

And selfishly, Z has not played a death scene so far, I would like to see it 😄 (or did she for Euphoria and we get that first?)

It will be hard to tell how long the actress that plays Ghanima will be around because the general public doesn't know her so we won't get sightings and the only way we would know is if she continues posting her location

Also people here are taking the novels as the script when Denis is filming HIS adaptation and the ending of Part 2 already showed us that it won't be the same as the novels. For all we know, Chani's death is not related to the birth of the twins and she may have already been pregnant with them at the end of Part 2. That would allow her beef with Paul not to be easily resolved

True, true. And he has shown that he is willing to change things quite a bit. Denis even said an adaptation is an act of violence 😅 So yeah, he could do something else entirely and just keep the general ideas and outcomes.
