What do you think the difference between real love, infatuation or attachment is? I am reminiscing about my most recent relationship and I highly highly doubt I was in love and for some reason I keep thinking it was just intense infatuation and bc I had issues of my own I attached myself so hard to the relationship I had no idea who I was outside of the relationship. I’m way past it now but I’d like clarity so I can move forward into new romantic relationships for the right reasons, such as love
I believe that love grows as a relationship grows. Infatuation is short, intense, irrational. Love is peaceful, long lasting, it makes sense. Infatuation is unstable, love is a foundation to build off of.

Does it mean you’re officially with someone if y’all have been talking for over a year and have said I love you but haven’t asked each other out? Does the rules of a relationship still apply?
You’re not in a committed relationship unless you both enter into a committed relationship together. If you’re not in a committed relationship, you’re just two friends. If you have expectations like you’re in a committed relationship, you’re wrong. And if you want a relationship, then be in a relationship. Idk why you would apply relationship rules to a non relationship instead of just being in a relationship.

idk who needs to hear this, but your wants are not outrageous. you want love? you want attention? you want peace? you want comfort? you deserve it. you're not asking for too much.

Some cops are good people! I've met one! The job is important but we need far better regulations so the bad people don't get in! Some cops are bad people! They need to be in jail!
How’s that boot taste?

Do u think that some people are just naturally more hard working and ambitious than others? Sometimes i feel like i dont have it in me to be career oriented and chase my goals. Even tho i have lots of career goals, i just have no energy or motivation to chase them. I want that money and good job but i do absolutely nothing to achieve them. Idk if i’m just lazy or need counseling.. but i was hoping you can provide some insight on how to be more motivated to complete goals
i mean, i read this and all i can think is that capitalism sucks. because we live in a society where so much of our identity is tied to our career. so if you don’t have career goals or some big lofty goal, then you begin to doubt your worth, capability, or wonder if you need counseling.
the fact that we have to work, sucks. the fact that in order to be seen as valuable and productive, we must have a job, sucks. i don’t think not being a person who is consumed by their career goals means you’re lazy or there is something wrong with you. i think you’re hitting that wall where you’re questioning why so much of who you are must be intertwined with what job you have.
i personally hit that wall as well, and i realized that i didn’t want being a lawyer to be the most interesting thing about me. i went to law school thinking i would be a big corporate attorney. i came out a bleeding heart public defender. and even now i’m in a competitive field within that space, and i don’t have that desire to be the best at my job. i want to do good work and i want my work to matter. but i used to wonder why i wasn’t sitting around trying to be as competitive as my co workers
and i realized the issue was capitalism, making me feel like i had to compete for value, and earn my worth through career achievement
so now i’m in a place where i want to do good work that does good work for society, but i want more in life than just career success. so yes, while i have had more trials than many of my colleagues, and i’m a better attorney than many of my colleagues, my desire isn’t to grab for power or status.
i just want to be happy. and having career ambition doesn’t always have to be a part of that narrative. i can have ambition for other parts of my life. i can desire to be the best wife i can be, the best daughter i can be, the best friend i can be. those can be huge amazing goals too.
so that’s my long answer to say you may be ambitious about the things that matter to you. and maybe you have career goals generally, but you’re not passionate about them because your interests are elsewhere. and that doesn’t mean you’re lazy or there’s something wrong with you. it may mean there’s an issue with a society that defines your worth by what you can produce.
