The White Panda has long been known for their viral mashups, whether it be “Lean On To The Next One” or “Pony Lasts Forever,” but have shown impressive strength in the remix game as well. The duo’s latest feat is an official remix of Zayn’s single, “Like I Would.”
When Zayn’s camp approached The White Panda, they said the decision was a “no-brainer,” mentioning they were a huge fan of his voice and felt it desired an electronic remake. “We came up with a punchy orchestral beat and a catchy top line that we can only hope does justice to the spectacular vocal. Crank it up and bring on the summer.”
Fans can stream the poppy trap remix of “Like I Would” here.

Did you kinda have free reign to use any characters you wanted or was it kind of a lot off limits?

have you realised that azealia is literally OVER. like, as soon as this media attention dies down, she has no record label out there promoting her stuff, and she can’t promote anything over twitter anymore, so what’s left?

the entirety of lucozade is so hard hitting tbh if you sit still for a few minutes and let the lyrics truly soak in. like … they paint a better picture of how zayn felt in 1d than anything he could say in an interview. and you’ve got rear view, which i for one feel really personally because it resonates so much with me and who i was in the past. the “i’m tired of lookin at myself in my rear view” is especially so strong because that was for a while exactly how i felt. i love each of the songs on MoM equally but these two hit me the hardest.

The thing about reading fanfic (and original slash fic) is that you get used to that particular writing/reading culture after a while. You get used to the frank discussions of sexuality and kink, the close attention to diversity and social justice issues in the text, the unrestrained creativity when it comes to plot. The most amazing, creative, engaging stories I’ve ever read have almost all been fanfiction, and I think part of that is because there’s no limitations placed on the authors. They’re writing purely out of joy and love for the world and its characters, with no concerns about selling the finished product. The only limit is their imagination. Next to that, most mainstream fiction starts tasting like Wonder Bread, you know?
