Suicide. That’s a big word. Not a word that should be shouted, whispered, or silenced. It should be acknowledged. When such a tragedy occurs, those around them should be able to react in a way that is healthy for them and unique to them. You are allowed to have feelings and you do not have to be quiet. You may react in ways that hurt others, but please refrain from lashing out and bringing about more trouble for yourself and others who are already struggling. We are all on the same journey, with a different map and crazy different paths. When something dispairs a community, we must work together to find ways to put ourselves back together again. Be there for that girl who’s father just couldn’t hold on any longer. Sit with that boy at lunch who’s always by himself, because you don’t know what’s on his end. Everyone thinks that they can just suddenly start a movement or get all loud and it’ll fix everything. Well, that’s not how it works, and if it was we wouldn't be plagued with this tribulation. The way I see it is the only thing we can currently do is be kind. No, not ride people’s ass saying they should be ashamed of themselves if they aren't showing immediate and constant kindness. This is an individual voyage. If you yourself look out for other people and just decide to be compassionate, then you are doing your part. That’s all we really can do.

I feel as though people haven't completely fathomed the idea that we can actually copy DNA from organisms. We are mere steps away from cloning ourselves. Granted it will probably cost millions of US dollars to do so, but this is a major biological accomplishment! I feel as though this stepping stone is being overlooked and important scientific discoveries are less favored compared to the latest trends such as internet memes, viral videos, celebrity scandals, and picking fun at political zombies! Not to say that we don’t all enjoy the occasional meme or doggo edit, I’m literally all about that, for the record. I would just much rather hear about progress than another Trump scandal that I couldn’t care less about, we get it, some of you think he’s god and some think he should take a long walk off a short pier. No, I do not care about the new Kylie lip kit. No, I don’t want to see that one girl’s unmentionable pictures. I’m more concerned with the fact that I could go clone my dog for half a million dollars.
