August 2016 (?)
More on Taekook’s bad mood and their fights with Jimin around this dramatic period + 4’Oclock’s LGBTQ movie reference & meaning.
Vmin’s fight:
Around this time while practicing for some tour stops that were still left (so beginning of August at the latest) Tae & Jimin had an absurd fight over dumplings and didn’t speak for 2 entire weeks. This shows how sensitive and prone to conflict they were during this period. In 2020, Tae explains it was due to stress & exhaustion caused by the filming of the drama, and how they ended up making up, with Jimin telling him he wanted to be his support. It seems to be the same talk in which Tae cried to Jimin after opening up about his struggles. This deep talk happened at 4am in the park where Tae started writing his song “4 o’clock” while waiting for Jimin to arrive. This song was later released in mid 2017.
(https://youtu.be/E9Un7WD-yJM, time stamp 8:25, http://www.vlive.tv/video/187554, 1:00-6:25)
This song has very deep lyrics that we can interpret if we analyze the LGBTQ movie that they reference:
In the film many of the revelatory moments happened at night - on the beach of course (when the boys have an intimate moment), but also at Juan’s/Blue’s house when Little asks questions of him. And Chiron’s dream is set at night. Black/Chiron walks around pretending to be tough by day but is sincere and vulnerable under the moonlight.
At night vulnerabilities are exposed as they drop their act. People tend to define you by these aspects of yourself, so you normally hide them to avoid carrying a stigma or being judged. Jimin was someone Tae could confide in when alone under the moonlight. Judging by the song’s theme, the hwarang filming might not have been the only issue discussed.
Jikook’s Fight:
During Festa 2020, Jk mentioned he felt very sorry towards Jimin for a fight they had in 2016 – making us think Jk must have been in the wrong. In this fight, Jimin seemed to disagree with Jk’s choices, or behavior, and angrily left the studio. Jk proceeded to roam the streets without a destination in mind, and ended up crying a lot and apologizing to Jimin. Tae called it “the sequel to the dumpling incident” meaning that this happened shortly after & may be linked in various ways:
When Jk specified it happened in the studio on a rainy day, most members still didn’t know about it and asked to elaborate. Members heavily cringing as a reaction indicates that they truly hadn’t heard this story before:
Tae seemed to recall this incident as if Jimin or Jk already told him not too long after it happened:
Jimin asks him what exactly Jk was sorry about and he simply said “about that” with a small voice, not wanting viewers to know the details behind the fight:
BH added a penetrating & mysterious bell sound right when Jk vaguely referenced the incident.
Tae let’s us know an intriguing piece of information:

Could Jimin have found himself caught in between Taekook’s drama and unreasonable behavior? Maybe wanted to help them fix it? Or simply had to deal with their bad mood?

Why do celebrities do fake relationships?
Here is an article from a publicist, explaining why many celebrities (like Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, this is me using them as en example, not her), accept doing a showmance. Weinstein Couple definitely fits her description. Worth reading!
“I feel like a buzzkill when I have to explain to friends and family how the cute celebrity couple on the cover of US Magazine they adore is, in fact, not a couple at all. Rarely do they believe me, until the news trickles out weeks, months, or years later that the couple were never together or one half of the couple is not even straight. Many of these relationships are fake. Why would these celebrities even agree to being part of a fake relationship?
1. It Keeps Them Relevant
There is a statistic out there that says that only about 7 percent of the Screen Actor’s Guild members are working actors. There is an insane amount of competition in their industry and nearly every actor fears their last movie or sitcom was their last job. In order to remind casting and movie directors to keep them on their short list they know they need to be in all those tabloids you hate to admit you read every week. These actors know that if you are talking about what they are wearing and who they are dating that it helps their chances landing an audition.
2. It Boosts Their Paycheck
Major movie studios and television networks spend an outrageous amount of marketing dollars to ensure you know about their movie or television show. When the actors in their films or television programs are also on the cover of US, People, Star Magazine, etc. they are obtaining “free media”. For example, when Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were dating their relationship was covered by all the major celebrity media outlets. This coincided with the release of their movie ‘The Break Up.” Although the studios spent millions of dollars on marketing the film, they earned just as much free media surrounding the relationship between its stars. So if you are a celebrity who lands themselves in these sort of articles you are able to use it as a bargaining chip for your next paycheck. If I get you (the movie studio) all this free publicity, I have to be reciprocated. Anyone who is dating Jennifer Aniston is guaranteed to be on the cover of all the tabloid magazines that week (i.e. Bradley Cooper).
3. It Helps Maintain Their Brand
Celebrities want to control their image. Many celebrities mask their sexuality to ensure they continue getting specific kinds of roles. (There are only a handful of actors who are able to float easily from drama to comedy). Once you are boxed into certain kind of roles it is difficult to be casted for anything else. (Can you imagine Hugh Grant in anything but romantic comedies? Can you imagine Jason Stratham in anything but thrillers? These actors are straight – just giving an example). So these actors will pretend to be in a relationship to maintain their image as a sex symbol. Movie studios fear women will not buy tickets to a romantic comedy starring a gay man in the leading role. Actresses may agree to “beard” these actors because this allows them to stay relevant (see #1), boost their paycheck (see #2), or help maintain their brand as a sex symbol.I also want to point out that a slew of celebrities call paparazzi and arrange photo opportunities. Next time you read about a celebrity complaining about the paps (i.e. Jessica Biel in this month’s Vogue) remember they are tipping them off to ensure they get their picture taken”.

Kayla your answer to anon was great but she said "whether they have something with eo or gfs" so she already made up her mind about them being straight, otherwise she would have wrote "or with others". There's no need to argue about the possibility of two members being in a relationship with people who don't even entertain the possibility of some members being lgbt
Kayla: hi anon, thank you for saying I handled that ask well. That’s always nice to hear💜you raise a good point. I’ll be honest, I used to get upset when people argued about Taekook but I’m at the point I just don’t care. People see what they want, right? So why waste time when they won’t change their minds? I’ll keep to myself, avoid the drama, protect my mental health. It’s much more pleasant that way. But this ask did, as you can see, trigger me. Reading the insinuation that Taekook come from small, rural towns (which is incorrect on its own) and how because of location OP is doubtful they’d be lgbtq .. didn’t sit well with me at all. It’s not like we control who we are physically attracted to. It doesn’t matter where you’re born. I’m sure a lot of people over the decades, and even centuries, wish it was that simple. But we love who we love irrespective of culture, location and family. Normally I just shrug and avoid the argument, and let people believe what they want since they’re clearly ignoring the (to me, obvious) hints (especially from Tae Bear about how he identifies). TBH, I didn’t even catch the “eo or gfs” part because I was stuck on small, rural town = not lgbtq... I guess I was just extremely disappointed by this comment...you don’t want to believe TK are together, fine. You don’t want to assume lgbtq, and some even somehow find it offensive if others see that..ok I guess. But to act like we have control over who we love or are attracted to? ... 😔
Sometimes I feel like closing the inbox .. and I’d say this is a good example why. I think there’s a lot of negative focused questions or comments and it really steers from the hopes and goals of this timeline. It’s the super cute or thought provoking ones that are why it stays open.
Sara’s General Disclaimer: I may select some asks, think about them and answer in the future through either Tumblr, Twitter or YouTube. Kayla will take over the discussion section as she enjoys active debates and will make the time for it, but I still read them all. Be nice to each other 💜 As it’s natural, I may or may not differ with Kayla’s take/ words.
