Kyomoto has been praising Fujino since they were in 3rd grade and then follows her around until they're 17. Fujino teases and looks down on Kyomoto to some extent and thinks she will always be the "leader" in their relationship and although Kyomoto never criticizes Fujino for her harsh words she still praises her/supports her from the sidelines. The exclusion for quirks can be substituted for artistic talent/passion in their case but my heart breaks thinking about them!

I think Dandadan is the first shounen anime Ive watched where I understand why all the boys and girls like one another. I know Aira’s crush on Okarun seems stereotypical because she sees Momo as her Rival but she’s doing better than most other examples by having a eccentric personality that doesn’t revolve around being Momo’s rival or that her motivations don’t change because of Okarun. (No Shade to Juvia I love her)

Aira and Unji see the people they have crushes on for who they are. Aira liking shy Okarun is only a little superficial because she’s never had a crush before and assumes moving fast is the way to go so it’s more played for an inversion of the trope. Zuma’s crush may be a little rushed because he’s spent so much time shutting people out and missing his mom that he doesn’t really know what do with the feelings he has for this super cool stranger whose risking her life just to save him (I cant wait to see to how he adjust to the other’s). I think Vamola is the closest thing we get to a secondary character falling in love with the mc due to proximity but that’s not even meant to be seen as a crush thing she’ll cling to anyone friendly.

Yeah I think you worry less about why a character likes another character when all parties involved are so well established and already cool on their lonesome.

Yeah? Thats not so bad on paper but look how they break it down for the anime, it’s so silly! Not only is the anime half of the manga’s chapters WITH filler but the attempt to break this up because so much time is spent getting there! When characters actually get some down time they’re so depressed it’s not even funny!

Im still not one of those “Ichigo is a badly written protagonist” people. I think he he gets swallowed up by the pacing and how extensive and detailed the lore is. The entire arriving to Hueco Mundo and then defeating Aizen and all the battles inbetween happen in one day wtf

Idk i need to complain about how bleach could be better

It does its job by being a battle shounen with cool fights and power ups. Ichigo’s Hallofication is the coolest anime transformation I have ever seen, I look for it in any anime I’ve ever watched and it’s probably why Bleach is one if my favorite anime despite me complaining. I also adore Kubo’s artstyle even before everyone became so model-esque but fighting and fashion alone don’t carry the plot.

That first season of bleach with that first opening has so much nostalgia for me while setting up the most satisfying arc in the whole anime; Rukia’s rescue arc. We get these silly goofy episodes of ichigo learning how to be a teenager, struggling with grief and being a substitute soul reaper. There is a good mix of supernatural elements and real world interference and situational humor to play off of Ichigo’s blunt approach to things like how am IS he meant to go to school outside of his corporeal form.

Things just start to get rocky when the Soul Society is introduced. The minute the children pass the gate everyone understands that a bigger plot is at play. It’s very clever in my opinion to have Rukia’s rescue mission be a distraction on top of a distraction to introduce the real villain of Bleach but it feels like Kubo was sort of manifesting how he’s going to start putting everyone on the back burner in favor of developing the Soul Society. Getting us attached to how the Soul Society works and who we’re supposed to trust and who we’re not supposed to trust and who is strong and who isn’t and then we have to learn everything to do with Hueco Mundo but not really because look theyre all dead and the Gotei is back!

How nice! The world has expanded for us, we’ve met new characters, we don’t know all of their powers but it certainly does bring a new scale to measure up our original cast against. (Not really some of these powers are so broken) Our main team has finally had a chance to work together and unstand their roles and we’re getting that Orihime development- very rare for a girl in a battle shounen at that time to get focus like this. I hope there is a big pay off! (Im using sarcasm by the way)

They enlisted the help of this child in exchange for allowing them all to go back home after destroying their gated community and that sets up another interesting arc but you would also believe this would be the chance to see all the humans improve upon their new found abilities in order to be of some use to the Soul Reapers who they believe to be allies of Rukia. (I will say although I wish it was tocuhed on more I do like how Orihime admits that she’s in this for Rukia, that’s her friend!)

This would’ve given Ichigo time to focus more on what his Zanpakto rather than that 3 day bankai training BS. Zangetsu talks about it in a vague flowery way but Ichigo’s development as a whole is show don’t tell. Ichigo never comes out and says his mother’s death causes him intense PTSD, we’re supposed to get that from his reactive personality and the way his trauma literally manifest through the unstable use of his hollowfication. The mask being metaphor for how we can let grief swallow us up and how grief can burn a person out. (To give Kubo some credit I think that was the purpose of the fullbringer arc but that was also everywhere) And even if we do like how Ichigo was handledthere’s this big elephant in the room Orihime can reverse time! Uryu has also lost his Quincy abilities! The thing he was oh so proud of he sacrificed for Ichigo and oh man I sure hope the pay off for these things happens immediately and we can explore the depth of their rivalry more before any other developments takes place. We all know how important relationships and bonds are in Bleach.

Orihime’s own trauma and it’s similarities to Ichigo’s is never addressed. She’s had to watch someone close to her lose themselves to grief again! When she cries out (props to the VA) to Ichigo during his battle with Ulquiorra you can feel her desperation as she’s about to watch somebody die again and she’s completely helpless to do something about! I know damsel in distress is a very prominent role reserved for female characters but wouldn’t that break anyone so find yourself in the same situation you swore to get stronger and never be in again? Why can Ichigo push himself to the brink of death just because he NEEDS to save Rukia but Orihime’s resolve for wanting to save her friends is dashed because “well what can she do? Atleast the Gotei 13 are here.”

Besides Chad new found abilities being so much less thought out and developed compared to the growing cast Rukia, Uryu and Orihime have some of the most complex and untapped character breakdowns and they almost never get touched! The aftermath of realizing how corrupt and incompetent the Soul Society maybe? Handled off screen. Uryu’s resentment of being unable to help his friends when they needed him the most? Left to fester and simmer until the plot needs him again. Orihime PTSD and ABILITY TO CHANGE TIME?? Fawning over Ichigo.

Lets not even go into the arcs after Aizen’s defeat, they were too convoluted for me to follow but yeah lets focus on fleshing out out main cast evfore getting hit with 30 cool designs
