To leave the ground and dark abyss

Would be my one and only wish.

Where weights no longer pull me down,

To dreary depths of which I drown.

To leave the ground and fly up high,

To a paradise floating in the sky.

A promise comes to grant my wish,

A promise of eternal bliss.

So up I go, to brand new heights,

For once, at peace, in blissful sights.

Yet soon, the warmth morphs into frost.

As all fulfillment comes with a cost.

Candid praises miss deaf ears,

Bruised eyes veiling nightly tears.

Stuck above where none can see,

Floating in antigravity.
