I tried to conceptualize Varian in more Saporian style clothing, and what traits even are consistent in it.

 I know my characterization of Andrew isn’t exactly popularized or fully canon compliant, but Varian and Andrew have a unique relationship.

Andrew is pretty much the only other character that can relate to and understand Varian’s experiences in Season 2.  They have the shared trauma of being in the Corona justice system, something that Varian probably can’t get a lot of people to understand, even if he were to open up about it.

I’m just..... feeling really soft about these two rn.  Just the idea of Varidrew.  The idea of these characters, who have such a messy history.  Them being able to recconect in the future after personal growth, to be friends again in a healthier place.  To no longer have such a power imbalance affecting their relationship.

For them to have seen the worst of each other, to have seen that low.  To have bonded then and to understand that.  But to grow beyond that.  To learn to love each other and to learn that the world is flawed and broken, but they don’t have to make it worse.

Listen, I know a lot of people aren’t gonna get this ship, but it can be executed in a way with a lot of depth.

Broke: Varian and Andrew are rival love interests for Cassandra.

Woke: Varian and Andrew are love interests, they just don't know it yet cause those feelings won't develop into romantic ones until years after canon.
