Interiors & Architecture
Tumblr media
Do you have physical premises that your customers may encounter?  If so, you are in control of one of the most critical manifestations of your brand.  Your brand is simply the impression people have of you.  Architecture and Interior Design are utterly critical in forming this impression, dictating a ‘channel’ of your brand mix that is immersive, tangible and multi-sensory.
These brand spaces can deeply impact and engage with our basic human nature, creating emotional responses, and rational thought patterns that influence behaviour for better or worse.
As 360° thinkers and creators, our approach to helping clients create spaces that have the desired impact on their target audiences, is to embed and harmonise the architecture and interior design process within our Research & Insight, strategy development and holistic customer experience design methodologies.
Informed by our Research & Insight and Brand Definition processes, and acting as advocates for our clients’ target audiences – religiously starting from and examining the customer’s point of view – we work collaboratively to ‘storyboard’ the perfect encounter between customer and space. We call this Customer Journey mapping.  We overlay other touch-points such as digital interfaces to plot Omni-Channel Journeys as part of this, and harmonise 3D design thinking with other aspects (people, communications, product etc) at each key moment.
This determines the purpose of your valuable spaces in structured and fine detail as a series of required or desired attributes through the customer’s 360° experience.  Our world-class teams of architects, interior designers and furniture designers then interpret and creatively express – in line with your defined brand values and personality – the 3D design aspects of the agreed attributes, resulting in the true definition of great interior design & architecture: Spaces that perform their functions brilliantly, while evoking lasting emotional reactions, bonds and impressions that set you apart in the hearts and minds of your customers. That is the true purpose of a brand environment.

20 Gifts For The Traveller In Your Life
Explore my gift guide for all the world travellers in your life! Covering everything from essentials to tech, clothing, footwear, inspiration & more.
Shake it like a polaroid picture! An Instax instant camera makes the perfect gift, printing out cute little polaroids instantly & making memorable keepsakes for life. In a world of digital images and phone photography, its a good feeling to be able to hold an actual photo in your hands. Get it here. Available in a few different colours.
2. This is kind of a no brainer, but a journal & an inky black pen is a gift that's always appreciated. It's a great way to pass time on long flights or while relaxing on the beach, and of course perfect to keep track of everything you get up to while in exotic lands. Write about all the places you visit everyday, doodle little images that have stuck in your brain, note down funny or cool stories you've heard from locals. It'll become a precious trip down memory lane when you're older.
Available on Fancy
Available on PropShop24
Available on PropShop24
3. Classic black sneakers will save your day almost every single day. Packing light is essential to an enjoyable holiday, and nothing is as versatile as a dark black shoe (that's comfy AF). Matches everything. Keeps your feet happy during the insane amounts of walking you will inevitably do on any vacation. Remember to always buy half a size bigger than your usual size when it comes to sneaks or closed shoes that are worn for long durations.
For Her
For Him
4. Also a total no brainer. Probably the most useful small object that can be packed on any trip. I bought one for my dad 8 years ago (he goes into the mountains to hike at least 3-4 times a year) and he takes it on every trip he goes on without fail. Get the original Victorinox version for guaranteed quality & flawless design.
5. Good sleep = happy travels. Get this set from Chumbak.
6. Music is essential for long journeys, long layovers and even longer sleepless jet-lagged nights. These headphones from Sony are tried & tested, have a clean, classic design and solid, dependable, clear sound without breaking the bank. Available in a variety of colours too. Available on Amazon.
7. Make your passport look oh so pretty, and safe from bending, scratches & other damages. Shop the beachy one here & the coordinated Mr&Mrs set here. Both from PropShop24.
8. Imagine getting to a far-off destination after months of planning and realising you can't charge any of your stuff. Prevent a nightmare with this international travel adaptor, available here.
9. I recently got into adult colouring books and found that it calms me down and passes time blissfully like very few other things. I have this Lost Ocean book and just can't get enough. The images are large, the pages are thick and creamy, and the designs are intricate and truly stunning. Apt for a rainy day or for inspiration in between travels. Add a set of Staedtler Water Colour pencils (the best ever), which are perfectly smooth colour pencils that transform to water colour when you run a wet brush over the paper. They allow for shading, blending, and shadowing, and don't seep through to the other side. Get the book here and the pencils here.
10. A sleek & durable carry-on roller makes for effortless travel. I prefer hard cases over soft because they also make a great footrest at airports, and because your delicate stuff (like make-up & electronics) stays safe & secure. A gunmetal grey or similar neutral tone looks best. Get this one here.
11. Trust me when I say you don't want to take an expensive watch on holiday (or any expensive jewellery for that matter). Watches tend to get stolen, lost, damaged or even broken quite easily. My partner had his watch stolen right off his hand in Barcelona without even realising it was gone for a good 20 minutes. These inexpensive yet cute watches will help you keep track of the local time no matter where you are, without the stress of potentially losing something very valuable.
For Her
For Him
12. An icy bed is nothing to look forward to, so all the cold weather travellers rejoice! This plug in heating pad is the ideal way to warm up your bed before tucking yourself in and can be a real life saver in extreme climates. You can even leave it on next to you or near your feet and go to sleep for guaranteed toasty-ness. Being snug as a bug just took on a whole new meaning. Shop here.
13. A classic beige double breasted trench coat is an extremely versatile closet staple that everyone needs. It makes a great gift because it's lightweight and easy to pack, thin enough for a slight nip in the air but can be worn with layers for added warmth, it's a piece that will never ever go out of style, and of course it just looks so cute when worn with just about anything from jeans and a t-shirt to a formal dress and heels. This glorious one is available on Asos.
14. Ever try to climb some rocks barefoot to jump into the sea? Or tried to go snorkelling barefoot and stepped on all sorts of pokey, spiky things while entering the water? I have and yeah, it's not fun. Shoes that can be worn into the water and while swimming are a lifesaver, they will protect your feet from cuts, scratches, bruises and even sharp objects & creatures on the sea floor (such as sea urchins). They're also ideal for light hiking & trekking through rivers, streams, lakes, puddles and along the sea shore. The low rise slip-ons are better for less intense activity such as snorkelling or swimming in rocky oceans, whereas the lace-up versions will take you through a forest walk and through a rivulet with ease.
Pink & grey from Speedo, available here.
The mesh openings on the soles of the shoe let all the water out, keeping your feet ultra comfy.
Shop here.
For the boys. Blue & black slip-ons available here.
A great water shoe by Adidas that users swear by. Shop here.
15. A solar powered battery pack to charge all your gear on the go, shop now.
16. For the ocean lover in your life who just can't get enough of the big blue sea. Shop from Fancy.
17. A set of refillable plastic bottles for all your shower needs that meet international carry-on regulations. A clear plastic pouch helps you get through security checks with ease. Buy here.
18. With an anti-glare screen and a travel friendly hand-held size, a Kindle is the best company. Store thousands of books & magazines, and read them anywhere from the beach, to a boat or a plane or the back of a bike. For the book worm traveller who never leaves home without something to read. Shop here.
19. Thin, luxurious, ultra absorbent & quick-drying towels made of 100% cotton. No more packing bulky towels that take up half your bag and take ages to dry. Not to forget that they're allergen free (since they're pure cotton) and won't irritate even the most sensitive skin. Get them here.
20. Amazon Prime Video is a great way to watch all the latest movies, tv shows and entertainment on a variety of different devices. They can be saved to offline mode so you can watch on the go and never miss any of your favourites. Plus watching a movie in bed is such a lovely way to spend a jet-lagged or tired evening when you just need to unwind from the hecticness of travel. For this you will need to purchase an Amazon Gift Card worth a minimum of Rs.500 and then tell the receiver of the gift card to redeem it on getting a Prime membership (which also includes free 1-2 day shipping on applicable items, apart from a whole world of movies & shows).
I hope my gift guide inspired you to get something fabulous for the jet-setter in your life. All these gifts are not only unique, but also useful, with direct links to shop each piece. This is a completely unsponsored post and I do not make any commission on pieces that are sold through any of these sites. This is simply my list of gifts any traveller would love to get! I'll be back soon with more content, just for you! xx

Layered Denim ft. The Label Life
Tumblr media
A very simple and on trend way to update any strappy or sleeveless dress you may have is to add a t-shirt, shirt or top underneath it. You may have seen this style on many of social media’s brightest stars already, and with good reason. The layering makes it look modern and chic, adds warmth so you can still wear some of your favourite styles well into cooler weather, and dresses it up so it’s not as casual anymore. I’ve paired this denim shift dress from The Label Life with a basic black turtleneck, added contemporary linear high heels and a dark red, almost purple lip to finish it off. This look is perfect for those chilly nights when you’re out for drinks, the club, or even for a nice dinner. The almost tone on tone black accents paired with classic dark indigo denim is a winning winter colour palette and requires minimal effort to look dressy. The dark tones also have a slimming effect and the gives the illusion of longer limbs as well (which is always a good thing). With looks like these, I prefer to not add any accessories and keep it restrained with emphasis on the layers, the shoe and of course your hair & makeup.
This is the final part of my collaboration on The Denim Story for The Label Life, and I had a blast styling their versatile and well-made clothing. You can shop this dress and a whole bunch of other cool pieces on their website- www.TheLabelLife.com.
I would love to see how you style your denim dresses so write in to me on [email protected] with pictures for a chance to get featured on the blog. I’ll be back soon with an exciting new post, till then read my other articles on all things style, beauty and travel!

Denim On Denim ft. The Label Life
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m a denim kinda gal, and always have been. Ever since I could remember, I was fascinated with this fabric. My first “adult clothing purchase” when I was 12 was a pair of low rise, glamorous (or so I thought) studded bell bottom jeans from Forever21. They fit like a dream, I could pair them with anything and everything knowing they would always look great, and they could be worn in the summer or the dead of winter in the snow. They were my go to for all occasions, and that’s when I knew denim and I would become very, very good friends in this life.
Needless to say my love affair with this timeless, versatile material continued into adulthood. I started collecting jeans like it was my job, then I moved on to denim shorts, jackets, tops, skirts… you get the idea. One whole section in my wardrobe is currently dedicated to denim, and when I don’t know what to wear, I throw on a good pair of jeans and a t-shirt and basically feel womanly and sexy and comfortable and like myself in every way. It’s glorious, what a good pair of jeans can do you for you.
Denim isn’t just for jeans and shorts though, it’s a durable, beautiful material that looks amazing for all kinds of pieces. So when The Label Life (one of my fave everyday brands) and I decided to do a 3 part fall inspired fashion story, I knew denim had to be the star. And denim on denim would be the first style I covered, something I wear all the freakin’ time (it’s like a blank canvas begging for your own personal touch). This is an easy look to achieve if you keep a few things in mind, and I’ve decoded it all just for you!
The off-shoulder cut is super on trend, as we all know, but mix it with indigo blue denim like this top from The Clothing Label and you elevate it to serious style star status. I love the raw, frayed edges on the neckline and sleeves, which adds an industrial, edgy vibe to an otherwise simple top. I’ve paired it with jeans in a classic, clean wash as something super distressed/faded/ripped up would be too clashy and distracting. Keeping the denim clean allows you to then add any kind of shoes or accessories you want, and make the look casual or formal based on your needs. My accents are neutral, with a pair of woven flatform shoes in a lovely dusty olive brown tone, a simple neck scarf in blue & green shades and one of my favourite fall makeup trends; the matte coffee coloured lip (OBSESSED).
This is a perfect look to try for daytime when the weather starts cooling down, and the brown lips add a glamorous touch without being over the top. Stay tuned for Part II of my denim story in collaboration with The Label Life, coming to the blog next week! In the mean time, you can shop this top exclusively on their website here.

How To Find The Best Food On Your Travels!
Food is an integral part of any good trip; it tells you about the culture, the landscape and traditions of the local people. It’s the ultimate pleasure giver, and there’s nothing quite like the feeling of seeing a waiter walk towards your table, arms full of plates as your stomach grumbles in approval. A good meal in a foreign land is an experience in itself, and for me a huge focal point when I plan holidays. But with so many mediocre restaurants and reviews on major sites pointing you straight to them (since they tend to be in the main touristy areas), how do you find the true gems? The kinds of meals you think about for years after and try to recreate every chance you get. The kind of food that comes to mind at midnight on a random Tuesday when you just want something that hits the spot. Here are my tips for finding some of the best meals you’ll have in your lifetime.
Tumblr media
1.Do your research
Winging it doesn’t really work when it comes to good restaurants, except for the odd time where you stumble upon something great. Chances are you’ll get hungry and sit down at a place close by that looks ok rather than making your way to another location. Sites like TripAdvisor are incredible tools for planning everything from meals to museum visits, excursions and hotel stays. Dive deep into the reviews and comments people have left & stay away from restaurants that have what I call the 4:1 or lower ratio, meaning 4 good reviews then 1 bad review and so on. This just means they are inconsistent and you can’t be guaranteed a fantastic meal. It’s normal for even the most exceptional places to have one or two slightly negative reviews because you can’t please everyone, am I right? But consistent flaws is not a good thing, even though they may show up as top 10 in a certain city just because of the large number of reviews. A lot of the truly great restaurants may have far less comments since they may not be on the main street or next to all the major attractions. The trek will be worth it though, I promise. I also love reading Lonely Planet guides & checking out the list of Michelin Star restaurants in the city I’m visiting.
2.Spotted By Locals & similar apps
A great app to get while visiting a new place is Spotted By Locals, where locals of that particular place will dish out all their favourite spots to eat, drink, party & be entertained. Although this app doesn’t cover every single location on the globe, it still has most of the large cities. I’ve found some brilliant recommendations ranging from a delish breakfast to a locals only underground music festival to hole in the wall bars serving cocktails from your dreams. Triposo is another such app with fantastic travel guides for destinations around the world, and an easy to use format covering eat & drink, see & do, and bookings for hotels & hostels alongside weather, currency, and practical information for your location.
3.Read travel blogs for amazing off the beaten path tips
There’s a reason the world of travel blogging is thriving, and that’s because travel bloggers (like me) put in a lot of effort into planning an unforgettable trip. I always focus on finding a few spots to visit that aren’t frequented by tourists, and experiences that are truly once in a lifetime. Travel blogs can give you all sorts of nifty information you won’t find on commercial travel & tourism websites, and that too from a real person instead of a magazine thats been paid to write a positive post about a specific destination, and will discuss useful things like daily budgets, best ways to get around, places you have to see, how to dress (if you’re in a conservative place), solo travel tips and of course, their best meals. Some of my favourite travel bloggers are Nomadic Matt, Adventurous Kate, Hippie in Heels, Gypsea Lust, The Blonde Abroad & Alex in Wanderland.
4.Stay away from tourists traps
This is a straightforward one. You want to stay away from places that are smack in the middle of all the hustle bustle as you’ll seriously overpay for a mind-numbingly average meal. Restaurants that have massive signs outside promoting “combo meals” or waiters handing you menus/trying to call you inside should be avoided like the plague. Its hard to always tell whose who, but places packed with locals is where you’ll get the best food. Also I’d stay away from ordering complicated dishes from other parts of the world. You won’t necessarily get a good Spanish tapas meal on a small island in Thailand, or a great Malaysian curry in the south of France. Stick to what the locals know how to cook, unless you’ve previously researched and found an exception.
5.Ask the locals
Ask friends from other cities where they eat in their hometown, quiz your Airbnb host about their fave meal, start a forum on TripAdvisor to get insider info, chat with a friendly bartender, the hotel bellboy, or that sweet lady in the clothing store you’re shopping in. People are generally very happy to share tips about their city, and that includes delectable dishes you can’t miss.
6.Check out street stalls, food markets & other unassuming places that have massive lines
Sometimes the tiniest, most basic looking places serve the best grub known to man. If you see a long line of locals outside a particular shop or street stall, get in line. Ask people what they’re ordering or what’s famous from that spot and get it, even if its something you may not have tried before.
7.Don’t be afraid to walk away from a restaurant even though you sat down already
It’s your money, your mouth and your holiday. Don’t feel obliged to stay in a restaurant when you’ve looked at the menu and not found it exciting or something gives you bad vibes about a place. I have walked into restaurants countless times and decided the menu is underwhelming or that I’m just not in the mood for that particular food anymore. Go with your gut when it comes to what you feel like eating (pun intended), you only have a limited number of meals on any given trip and they should preferably all be memorable.
8.Try new things!
I cant emphasise this one enough! You gotta be adventurous with your food choices, the worst that can happen is that you won’t like it, but everything is worth at least one shot. I sometimes get queasy from certain kinds of raw seafood or things with a very strong odor/weird texture, but I always give it a try (sometimes more!) before I make a decision. This is how I discovered that I enjoy pigs ears, horchata, cuttlefish & snails even though I may not have tried them just from the name. Variety is the spice of life, my friend, and that applies to food more than anything else. You have an opportunity 3-4 times everyday to try something you’ve never tried before, so throw your previous ideas out the window, close your eyes, and take a bite!
I hope you enjoyed reading my guide about good food & travel. If you have a restaurant in mind that changed your life, or one that you cant wait to go back to then I’d love to hear from you. Write to me on [email protected] with the subject “Best Meals” and it may end up on my to do list the next time I travel! I’ll be back in a few days with an exciting fashion post, read my other posts about style, beauty & of course travel till then xxx

Lost Among The Flowers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For today’s post I’m going to talk about how you can take a simple maxi dress and elevate it to a semi-formal look. First of all, when picking a maxi for a semi-formal or evening event, pay attention to the fabric, it shouldn’t be straight up casual cotton, and should have a nice, soft flow. Second, you want to pick something in a dark print or in a solid colour such as wine, navy, black or purple, daytime florals and pastel prints can’t easily translate to night. My dress is in dark blue, black, green & red floral, which is a good option for evening. Third, you want to pick something with sleeves, an interesting low back or a more formal cut. Stay away from elastic waistbands like it’s your job, because nothing makes a nice dress go bad quicker than elastic. The dress should ideally have a zip closure, and fit your body well. Fourth, add a pop of lipstick or do heavier makeup than normal to balance out the fact that your wearing a casual outfit formally, hair looks nice open or in a feminine up do, and a pair of heels and a clutch completes the look!
This is the final part of my collaboration with Missa More Clothing, and I’ve had a blast styling their cute, affordable pieces to match my style. If you’re looking for the latest trends at throwaway prices, then do check out www.MissaMore.com. The finish & quality of the pieces is along the lines of Forever21, which means pretty good but not amazing, something to keep in mind when shopping affordable brands. If you want couture quality, be ready to pay couture prices. I love Missa More because I can indulge my inner shopaholic and look on trend without breaking the bank.
Stay tuned for another exciting post, hitting the blog in a few short, sweet days. Till then check out my other articles covering fashion, beauty & travel! Happy reading xxx

Lady Jade - Fashion Blog
This is part III of my collab with the girls over at FancyPants, and this teal jumpsuit is something I want to wear all day, every day. I love the bold jewel tone, which offsets Indian skin like a dream, the little cutout midriff and the slouchy bow that ties in the front. If you’re looking for effortless dressing, this is it ladies. I love jumpsuits because they’re so easy to wear, you just have to throw on one fabulous piece of clothing and you’re pretty much good to go. The solid colour allows you to experiment with shoes, accessories, hair & makeup, yet is still bright enough to not require too much jazzing up. I love the combination of blue and brown so I wore my favourite chocolate coloured platforms, added hints of antique silver and my favourite stone ever, turquoise, to tie it all together. For the hair, I’ve swept it to one side to show off my chunky earrings and frame the face, and makeup is fresh with a pop of pink on my lips.

Cadaques, Spain - Travel Guide
Cadaques is a STUNNING 2 hour drive up north from Barcelona, and it lies only 30 kilometres from the border of France. It sits along the Costa Brava (roughly meaning rugged coast, which refers to the mountainous & wild terrain of this region) that stretches for 300 km from Barcelona to France. For a place that’s so close to such a major global tourist destination, it feels cozy, quaint and just perfect. Most of the people here are local Spanish tourists, and since it’s so small it doesn’t attract as many throngs of people as nearby beach towns which are super developed & commercial.
This magical little all white fishing village was once home to the one & only Salvador Dali, who was born in nearby Figueres, but came here to find inspiration. It is said that he was so entranced by the terrain of this part of the world he would escape into the wilderness every summer, walking around the rugged landscape for days, brain ticking with ideas for his surrealist art. Some of his earliest works were directly influenced by Cadaques & the neighbouring Cap de Creus National Park, and we thought if it’s good enough for Dali, it’s good enough for us.
Although there are a couple of Dali museums in this town, we heard they were tourist traps and didn’t end up visiting. Exploring the tiny, cobbled alleyways, fabulous wine bars & restaurants, gorgeous mountain drives and Cap de Creus National Park was enough for us in the 3 days we spent here.
If you’re looking for the clearest blue waters & small hidden coves, then you need to make your way to Cadaques. The main beach is alright, but a 15 minute drive gets you to Cap de Creus which is a protected area perfect for some insane hiking, mountain biking and secluded beaches, where if you’re lucky, you’ll be the only people. All the beaches need to be accessed by foot, so you’ll have to park nearby, grab all your supplies for the day and trek down the steep, rocky landscape in order to reach these beaches. There are no restaurants or amenities available, so carry your essentials- an umbrella, a beach sheet, plenty of snacks & drinks and comfy shoes for walking (we made the mistake of wearing flip-flops on day 1 and it was nearly impossible to hike up & down the slippery, rocky paths).
There is also a lighthouse up at the end of Cap de Creus, and it provides unparalleled panoramic views of the coast, and the most magical sunsets known to man. There’s a small restaurant serving food and drinks up there, and its a good way to introduce yourself to the area. The terrain here is almost alien, jagged rocks & formations peppered with bright green shrubbery next to a shining, sapphire blue Mediterranean. The sea tends to be very calm since most of the beaches are in a cove shape, and its super clear thanks to the fact that the sea bed is rocky instead of being sandy.
I truly fell in love with this village, and will be sure to return sometime to explore further. Since most people who travel to Spain end up going to Barcelona, I’d highly recommend driving a couple of hours to this region for it’s untouched, raw beauty.
Some things you must do in Cadaques -
Drive up to Cap de Creus for your nature fix.
Trek down to secluded cove for the day.
Dine at Enoteca for their fabulous daily specials & tapas with French influences.
Watch sunset from the lighthouse.
Get lost in the cobbles alleyways of this walking town (cars are only allowed on very few streets).
Take a night walk to soak in the magical light of this village.
Go play with the cats at the Cat Sanctuary near the old church.
Have drinks by the port to enjoy the views & the sounds of the waves.
Grab some Lebanese at the gorgeous El Barroco, the restaurant where Dali hung out with his friends everyday.
Take a picture with the overflowing bougainvillea in this region.

PERSONAL: Big City Wildflower
Tumblr media
The thing to know about knee or even calf high lace up gladiators is that they need to fit snug & perfect; all the way from your foot, through your ankle and through the calf. If they’re super big on you they won’t look too hot, your legs will be floating in the shoe as if you borrowed your older sisters. They key is to find ones that actually lace up and can be tightened according to your shape. I tried and failed with many pairs that simply had a zip at the back and nothing else to adjust the size except a couple of buckles (that did nothing except look cute). If you find a pair that fits you without any need for adjustments DROP EVERYTHING AND BUY IT THAT SECOND. It’s like finding the holy grail of knee high glads, you’ll thank me later. As they say, nothing haunts us more than the things we didn’t buy
These will carry you through any day with style, and a little bit of edge for an extra spring in your step. Not to forget that they are very comfortable since they grip the foot & leg so well. Try a black, brown, or nude pair for maximum wearability & bang for your buck, and remember, the fit is the most important thing here! You can pair these with shorts, skirts & dresses of any length, and even just your boyfriends t-shirt with your sleeves rolled up for a cute, casual vibe.

Kama Ayurveda Soap Free Facial Cleanser Review
So as I’ve mentioned in my ‘Oil Cleansing’ post, I’m all about natural products for my skin (as much as I can help it) and I took a personal oath to avoid drying soaps, face washes, and harsh cleansers for my face and neck from January 2016 onwards. A lot of older women I’ve spoken to with great skin have all told me that the key to stay wrinkle free and fresh faced as you age is to completely skip soap on the face and neck, and to moisturise the entire body and face every single day like it’s going out of style. I usually use Forest Essentials Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil and warm water to cleanse my skin, but I have days where I’m just too tired, or too lazy to go through with the process (even though it only takes 10 minutes). On these days I need something quick, simple, and soap free to clean my face of dirt, pollution and makeup; and in steps the Mridul Soap Free Facial Cleanser from Kama Ayurveda.
Kama has been around since 2002 according to their website, but it popped up on my radar last year when I saw many seriously beautiful stores opening up in Mumbai and I was tempted to go in and take a look, having already been a fan of Forest Essentials and homemade beauty techniques.  Kama Ayurveda is 100% organic and plant based, so this means no artificial colours, fragrances, animal products, urea, petrochemicals, glycol, or sulphates, plus they are cruelty free, so no animal testing (something I’m seriously behind). Their partner is one of India’s original Ayurvedic Institutions-  the Arya Vaidya Pharmacy in Coimbatore and they ensure the highest standards and quality control.
Ayurveda or “life-knowledge” has been around for centuries if not thousands of years in India, and basically looks to nature and natural substances for cures to various conditions. While a lot of it may not be authentic since it’s not considered an actual science, and people can basically sell whatever they want, I do believe that it works for skin care. Most modern beauty products have some derivatives of natural substances in them and will market natural ingredients on their packaging such as oatmeal, herbs, natural antioxidants, and extracts from various plants and flowers, but these are combined with a whole mix of chemicals and preservatives that negatively affect your skin over the years.
The soap free cleanser from Kama has the following herbal powders- oatmeal, green gram, almond, neem, sandalwood, turmeric, camphor, chickpea, rose, and fennel. All of these are known to be miraculous for the skin; almonds for their vitamin E and fatty acid content, neem for battling acne, turmeric for disinfecting and cleansing, oatmeal to soothe, sandalwood to calm inflammation and add a glow, I could go on and on. Its packaged in a cute reusable metal jar and comes with a small wooden spoon inside to help you scoop some of the powder out.
The technique is super simple, just scoop about one heaping spoon of green powder into your palm or a small bowl, add a little water to make a paste and apply onto your skin. Leave on for 1-2 minutes and then massage the entire face with wet hands in upward circular motions, covering all the places where you applied makeup, including the eyes, and rinse off. Now it won’t remove waterproof mascara completely but if you use oil beforehand for any heavy makeup then you’ll be fine. For day to day use where you’re not using too much makeup it’s perfect, and does a double job of exfoliating and cleansing. My skin always feel amazing and soft afterwards, and sometimes I need a touch of moisturization for which I use a drop or two of coconut oil.
So for days when I’m too lazy to cleanse my face with oil, or when I’m having a super rushed morning, I turn to this all natural substitute to get the grime off in a healthy, organic and, most importantly, soap free method. If you try this product let us know how it worked for you!

Goa Travel Guide
Anyone who knows me will always joke that I go to Goa way too often. To be fair, they’re not kidding.  Goa has been a favourite of mine ever since I was about 16 years old and went there for the first time with my best friend of many years.  We had just met, but little did we know that Goa was going to bond us in unimaginable ways and become the very place we hold closest to our hearts.  It gave us everything we needed, through the years as we grew up and our interests changed. And anyone whose been to Goa enough times will tell you the same, it has something for everyone.  Whether you want a high activity vacation with water sports, treks, and sunset swims at beautiful beaches, or you prefer to just relax in gorgeous swimming pools, get massages, and eat long, leisurely (amazing!) meals, Goa is the perfect getaway.  A quick 50 minute flight from Bombay will put you straight in the lap of palm trees, a balmy breeze, and the true Goan sussegado (loosely meaning “taking it easy”) state of mind. Since I’m here every excuse I get, I decided my first travel guide was was going to be for my beloved second home, the place that never disappoints, never gets old, and never wants me to leave (or is it the other way around?), Goa!
Goa has two main “seasons”, which basically means season time and off-season. All of Goa is open for business in full force for about 6 months of the year from mid October through April, and for the other 6ish months (during the extreme heat and then monsoon) most of Goa closes down. Season time in Goa can be very crowded, most of all during Christmas and New Years, but there are still places you can find where you feel isolated from the crowds and at peace. Here’s a list of my favourite places to eat, chill and party! P.s- all the image sources are clickable links incase you wish to learn more about the places I’ve mentioned. Now go find your next spot to eat, drink, & be merry!
