Everyone is always focused on their image. Everything has to be perfect in their eyes. As for me, I just like to be myself. I was always picked at about my gap, my hair, & my appearance as a whole because I never cared about getting attention as everyone else did. However, I remember the days where I would always ask my mom about braces because people would always say something about my gap (how big it was or just the simple fact that it was there). I even remember begging my mom for a perm because I didn’t like my hair growing up & out. Little did I know, these were the very things that made me beautiful & I am in love with every bit of it. My smile is beautiful, my hair is popping & I am in love with myself. & Here I am now embracing it all! Reflection Sundaze: Practice Becoming Aware of Your Surroundings

Many of us live out our live unconsciously by going through the movements without even thinking about it. It is because we are so used to going through the motions of the things we do routinely that we do not first stop to think about what we are actually doing or saying. Because we are not aware of these things, we may also not be aware of these things having negative impacts on our lives. To find out what impacts our lives negatively or positively, it is essential that we become aware of every person and thing we surround ourselves with. 

The first question you should ask yourself is: “What do I surround myself with daily?” Becoming aware of your surroundings is the first step to finding out how your surroundings affect you. In order to figure out the why, you must first become aware of the what. 

So once you become aware of it, you should then ask yourself: “How do I feel about this?” Even think of the time you surrounded yourself with this person or this thing. How did it make you feel: uncomfortable, sad, happy, excited? Noticing how and when your emotions associate with the very people and things our surround yourself with is KEY to figuring out why your life is being affected by it.

Lastly, finding out why you are being affected by your surroundings is deeper than most of us may think. In order to find out, we must go deeper into our minds and find our inner person. Once our inner person is found, it is then that we ask ourselves: “Why does this person or this thing make me feel sad, uneasy or happy?” “Why do I always feel anxious when I pass the library?” 

When we ask, we receive. It is important that we become more aware of ourselves and our surroundings so we are able to know exactly what is affecting our lives, why it affects our lives, and what we can do to change it.  In order to live a conscious life we must first become aware of the things and people we allow in our lives. We will always find the answers to our questions within ourselves. For it is our truest version of ourselves that holds answers to everything we have ever questioned.

It is important to know yourself.

Reflexion Sundaze: Am I Judgmental?

Today is all about bonding with your spiritual side. This could include reflecting your week, observing, reading, listening to or playing music, and/or of course meditating!

Today I want you to ask yourself a question: “Am I Being A Judgmental Person?”

Everyone is judgmental whether they are aware of it or not so now ask yourself: “Am I aware of myself being judgmental?”

Awareness is the first step to changing or managing anything. In order to find the problem, we must first become aware that there is a problem.If you are aware of yourself being judgmental, congratulations! You are one step ahead of everyone else who are not aware. The next steps you take are to simply catch yourself in the action of being judgmental and stop it. You may find yourself having judgmental thoughts than anything and have no idea how to stop those negative, judgmental thoughts. 

You can do this by simply saying, “STOP!” out loud, and your mind will stop racing about all of the negative, judgmental thoughts. In life, it is essential to observe people and things blissfully, making no judgments. It allows you to become more mindful of people and things more than anything. Although it may be hard, we all have to start from somewhere. As long as you take a step closer to mindfulness a day, you will be there in a matter of no time. 

If you are not aware, you need to pay more attention to yourself and the way you react to things or people or the way you feel about things or people. Listen to your thoughts and make observations about them during the time that you are thinking them. Remember every action does not need a reaction, however, every action does need a purpose. So ask yourself why or how did this happen this way or this time. If you do react, ask yourself: “Why am I reacting?” “Why do I feel this way about this?” 

There is always a reason why you react to certain things, whether you are aware of it or not. The important part of your reflection process is to get closer to the truer version of yourself by seeking out answers from yourself. Give yourself some space in your mind to answer it or maybe you will already know the answer. Always question yourself to seek answers about yourself. Only you know all of the answers about yourself. No one else (not even your biological parents). Keep observing yourself blissfully and view the world as you would view yourself.
