It's interesting how MXTX's works: svsss, tgcf, and mdzs all have a common theme. It is always wrongful accusation.

Mdzs: everyone thought Wei Wuxian associated with the Wen Clan because he protected the non-cultivators and led them to safety

Svsss: everyone despisedSQQ because they thought he orchestrated the plague in Jin Lan City (book2).

Tgcf: In book 2, where everyone thought XL, in addition to 'killing his own parents,' caused the destruction of his kingdom.

I wonder why mxtx loves columny and wrongfully directed injustice so much. Maybe she felt this way in her life many times that she decided to project it into her stories. What do you think?

Xie Lian saying the most truest words my heart could never articulate, astonishes me. One of the main reasons I love tgcf so much is bc of the word choice of such specific emotions and perspectives. Like "regardless of what your identity js, my feeling towards you won't change. Whether you're a beggar or thr emperor." 😭😭😭my heart weeps.

I’m fine I’m just crying over how Xie Lian makes Hua Cheng laugh

thinking about how the cave of ten thousand statues, after being presented with the evidence of hua cheng’s devotion, his possible obsession, xie lian’s groundbreaking choice is to return hua cheng’s faith in him.

like, xie lian has just been presented with the BIGGEST red flag ever. this person, this ghost king who has inserted himself into xie lian’s life, has carved thousands of statues of his face, of him, in excruciating detail. that’s insane. that’s obsessive. that’s terrifying. after seeing this, xie lian would be totally justified in running away from hua cheng.

and hua cheng knows this, too. that’s why he tried to cover up all the statues. he’s resigned to xie lian’s reaction, only mildly attempting to avoid the subject to delay the inevitable rejection.

but when xie lian gets the chance to speak, in defiance of all common sense, he chooses hua cheng.

in any other story, blind trust like that would be a big red flag (even if danmei might find it sexy anyway).

but it works here, because it is the culmination of hualian’s relationship throughout the novel. everything that they have done together has built a bridge of trust between them. despite both having centuries of baggage and secrets they are keeping from each other, hua cheng has shown over and over again that he is worthy of xie lian’s trust. he has kept every promise, stayed true to his word, always put xie lian first. the novel has gone out of its way to show that hua cheng has earned xie lian’s trust .

so, on xie lian’s part, this is his chance to choose hua cheng back. to believe him. to see an ugly side of him, and stick by him, let him explain, and believe in his worthiness. to have faith in him.

this is the moment that solidifies their relationship. the moment where xie lian commits to this as much as hua cheng has. it’s a while before xie lian is confident calling it love, but from this point on they’re securely together. and that’s on good relationship building babey. god they make me ill.

you basically have to analyse photos looking for penguins, their chicks, eggs or even predators and human interaction But there are lots of interesting projects you can help in areas such as biology, physics, history or even art: 

Oh and the best part, some institutions even accept it as volunteering/service hour requirements for graduation and scholarships!! It’s helping me a lot during this time, so I thought it was worth sharing

ive talked about this before but i Hate how a lot of the time you NEED to go to reddit to get accurate info on drug interactions with anything recreational/dangerous/potentially addictive bc like, so many health sites will just give this vague ‘you shouldnt mix substances it might increase effects’ or etc. which is useless from a harm reduction perspective bc the question usually being asked is ‘will this hurt/kill me and why’ not like, ‘is this good for me’

About Yunjin’s Design

Yunjin is based on the daomadan (刀马旦) character archetype in Beijing Opera.  Dan (旦) means female role, and daoma (刀马) means “saber and horse”, referring to the type of action that’s characteristic of this role.  Altogether daomadan is a female role that fights on horseback in the course of the story.  This type of female character is often a heroic warrior, and sometimes even a general leading troops in battle.  If the female role does not fight on horseback, then it’s generally referred to as wudan (武旦), or “martial female role”.  Daomadan can be understood as a subtype of wudan.  

This is supported by both what Yunjin did in her character demo and one of her idle animations, where she twirls and kicks a baton-like object.  In Beijing Opera, this “baton” is understood to represent a spear or a spear-like polearm weapon, and the acrobatics represent the moves when fighting.  Here is a video excerpt example from an old opera named Oulianguan (《藕连关》).  The daomadan character enters the stage at 0:42 and is seen fighting multiple male warrior characters in a battle, then rejoicing in victory.

On Yunjin’s visual design, although it’s overall more lolita than traditional, it does still contain a few design elements from Beijing Opera：

The shawl-like clothing around her shoulders is a reference to yunjian (云肩; lit. “shoulder cloud”) worn by certain dan characters in Beijing Opera, usually noble, royal, wealthy, or significant female characters.

The pom-pom-like things in her hat refers to parts of the daomadan headwear qixingezi (七星额子; lit. “seven stars headwear”), meant to represent decorations on a helmet.  

The flags seen on her back during her elemental skill is a direct reference to the kaoqi (靠旗, or “armor flags”) worn by major characters who are generals or warriors fighting on the battlefield.  This applies to both male and female roles.  Characters who are generals but do not appear in battle (ex:  Guanyu) may not have kaoqi in their costumes.
