First of all, I would like to say thank you so much for writing this aaaaaaah. Honestly, I entered the exchange so that I can hopefully draw Ieyasu or Mitsuhide. I didn’t expect to be the recipient of such wonderful writing.

Secondly, I feel like I have to say this but with Ieyasu in the future, the first thing I thought was... “The who substituted him in unifying Japan?” lol 

It’s funny because that was the most pervasive thought I had while reading this. 

In any case, this is lovely.I’m so glad you chose to write about Ieyasu and I really do think you gave justice to his characterization.

Life could, and often did, change in the tiniest slivers of time. Rain-soaked moments at a centuries old shrine. Quiet tea-stained seconds. Crackling instants of physics and time defying each other.

Catching a brief glimpse of tousled blond hair across the other side of a deserted crosswalk.

The endless, breathless stretch of space between heartbeats, just before the world fractures into a mosaic of glass and light and cacophonous sound. This is my favorite part in Hideyoshi’s story. Even have this saved on my phone. I’ve always liked Mitsuhide. And even if I really didn’t care much for Hideyoshi’s route (no offense to anyone; I’m just not that invested in his character), I found myself really enjoying it because of Mitsuhide’s relevance in it. And this last part was just really great to read. 

It’s so great when the story once again reveals him to be one of the most selfless characters in IkeSen despite his lying two-faced persona.

In every route, it’s always been showcased that another warlord is in love with MC, but I think Mitsuhide’s love was written in the most tragic and the most beautiful way.

He is contempt with being her friend, maintaining Prioritizing her happiness over his own. He has rationalized to himself that Hideyoshi is a better fit for her than himself, and that him and MC could never be together, no matter how much he loves her.

Though this similar to when Hideyoshi fell in love with MC in Nobunaga’s route. Something about Mitsuhide makes everything seemingly more tragic. Like he has accepted his fate and knows that he is doomed to play the villain.

The fact that Masamune even encourages Mitsuhide to steal the MC away way interesting. It like he knows Mitsuhide is always playing himself to be the villain, and Masamune wants him to find happiness and wants him to know it doesn’t have to be that way.

Hideyoshi’s route has helped me learn more about Mitsuhide as a character. To know that Mitsuhide has people he loves, things he wants to protect and morals he’s willing to die for. So to me he is less of a villain and more of a tragic hero.

I know it will still be a long while till we get his route but I can’t help but feel like his route is gonna be really emotionally tragic, but Im excited to know more about his character and finally see him get the happy ending he deserve.

Sorry for this messy thought post but honestly, if you weren’t already in love with him like me, his part in Hideyoshi’s route has got to have you feeling at least little something towards him.

This is horribly late and I’ve only been in the SLBP fandom for like 2 months but as of now, Ieyasu is actually my favorite lord. 

To be honest, I really disliked him at first. My first experience of reading his route was in an event story and I couldn’t understand his and Mitsunari’s allure. But as I read more, I appreciated his wit in Mitsuhide’s route (where he tries to set up the hunt so that Nobunaga will get his prey first) as well as his jaded view of the world in Yukimura’s route. 

It’s surprising. I expected to hate him in Yukimura’s route since a friend who recommended his main route says that he’s pretty awful in Yukimura’s but instead, I actually found myself liking him more - most probably because deep inside, I do share his sentiments about people’s betrayals being an inevitable part of being alive. 

Well that and I actually found his villainy to be quite tame in the end once he completely backs off after MC amuses him by saying that he should spare her life so that she can cook something better for him afterwards. 

Fast forward to Ieyasu’s main route and I found him to be too much at first but as I paid attention to the choices you have to choose so that MC will gain his affections, I found it interesting how he appreciates honesty no matter what and it got me thinking that he just really wants to meet someone who wouldn’t break his trust no matter what.

To be honest, I don’t even really like the romance development in main his route. It felt abrupt and e, it just felt like Ieyasu just wanted to monopolize the MCs attention instead of actually developing affections for her. But despite that, I think his routes - both his main and event ones - are really well written. As a matter of fact, Ieyasu  actually has my favorite writing out of all the lords during the events (in line with Saizo’s; Masamune’s are good too)

What should I do?

I know I cannot force everyone to understand who Yasu really is, but I can’t stand seeing others bash him. 😭 I know he appears to be a bad guy in many routes so many grow hatred to him. 😖 Maybe I’m overeacting since I love him so much 😢

But seriously, has anyone written this AU similar to this: Marin (M!Marinette) transforms into ladybug AND instead of keeping his normal form, transforms into the Ladybug version we all know and love (aka original female Ladybug). When he does, not only is he stressed about the fact that he’s suddenly a superhero but also because WTF why is he suddenly a girl in a spandex suit

Ofc, he still ends up saving the day but now he doesn’t want to be Ladybug cause (1) he doesn’t think he’s capable of the job and he’ll mess up and (2) it feels like he’s dowsed with a bucket of cold water when Tikki reveals that him becoming a girl is an expression of his ideal self. And well it’s jarring to be outed like that when he himself isn’t sure of his sexuality. I mean sure he’s always admired looking at his mama’s old dresses and female clothes in general but he’s never acted on his longing since the day in nursery when Chloe destroyed the dress his mama gave him and called him a freak (oh chloe)

So he refuses Ladybug for those two reasons but in the end gets into the role nonetheless because he’s gotta save people and he’s got a bleeding heart.

As for the romance aspect, Adrien/Chat is in love with Ladybug while being Marin’s best bud alongside Nino. Whereas Marin finds himself falling for Adrien. And boy it’s rough cause he’s never actually liked anyone before and now he likes a guy on top of liking feminine clothing and it’s like he’s forced to grow into his own sexuality and love himself on top of doing the whole superhero gig.
