They turn around to pick up the drinks that the bartender just set in front of them when Yoongi stops Jimin with a hand on his shoulder. “No, but seriously, let me know if anything happens or if you feel like you’re in danger. Hyung will be there for you every time.”

“Thank you, Yoongi-hyung. I really miss hanging out with you.”

“Hey now, that’s your fault!” Yoongi jokes while bumping shoulders with Jimin on their walk back to their table.

“More like Adam doesn’t like you so he never wanted me to hang out with you,” Jimin grimaces while saying this, knowing how pathetic it makes him sound.

“Well, now you don’t have to worry about it. Tae, Kook, and I always have your back and I know that I’ll always be here for you, even if it’s just to complain about how you got pulled over again.”

“Hey now!” Jimin exclaims, bumping shoulders with Yoongi as they reach the table where Taehyung and Jungkook are currently sitting.

“Took you two long enough!” Taehyung yells with a wink at Jimin, effectively making Jimin’s face heat up with a blush.

Looking around the table, Jimin can definitely say even after everything, he is very thankful that he has friends like them.

chapter 4 | yoonmin au

Seeing as how Jimin still looks confused and uncomfortable, Adam gets up off the couch and walks over towards Jimin, his signature smile nowhere to be seen on his face. “I think we need to talk about Yoongi.”

“Uh, okay? What about him?” Jimin is totally confused on where this came from. He hasn’t been hanging around him outside of work, not to mention the fact that Jimin kind of likes Yoongi and his awkward personality so he doesn’t see why there would be anything to talk about.

“I think you need to keep an eye on him. Something about him just doesn’t feel right.”

Jimin, again, doesn’t know how to respond to this, so he doesn’t. He just maintains eye contact with Adam.

With a shake of his head Adam continues, “I just wanted to make sure you were okay,” his smile returning to his face.

“Who’s that?”

Adam takes the photo out of Jimin’s hand, “I’m sorry. I didn’t know that was in there.”

“Is that … him?” Jimin asks, referring to the bad relationship Adam referenced during their first date. “Uh, Namjoon?”

Adam stands abruptly from the couch, walking towards the bookshelf, taking another swig from his beer.

Just had my nth conversation with someone about mask-wearing today - yet another well-intentioned moron who was like 

‘But the virus is gone now’ (it isn’t) 

‘But the mask is uncomfortable’ (ventilators are worse)

‘But you’re young, you won’t die’ (having this thing could impact my health for decades to come + it’s my responsability to protect those who’re more vulnerable than I am because that’s how society works)

‘But are you going to live in fear for the rest of your life’ (taking concrete safety measures actually helps me feel more in control and less worried)

‘But are you going to give up everything and stay inside like a rat’ (no, but I’m definitely going to decide what’s worth risking my health for, and shopping for bread rolls is not very high on my list of literally-to-die-for activities)

‘But what if they never find a vaccine’ (then we’ll get used to the situation just like we got used to a thousand other things like seat belts, bike helmets, and increasingly weird true crime podcasts). 

I know it’s tiring to have people call you paranoid all the time - but you’re right and they’re wrong. Check the news, keep a safe distance from others whenever possible and keep wearing your mask!
