DEATH: Life's greatest equalizer
Born. Live. Die. That's what happens to life. We can never change it, and we can never defy how it is arranged; that is how our life is written.
Recently, I've been reading a book entitled "Tuesdays With Morrie" I guess a lot of you are familiar with it. Anyway, as I was reading it it discusses the thought of how it feels like to be in between of living and dying. it sounds weird, but we'll be facing it sooner or later. We may not be aware of it but there will be a time that we'll feel it. What caught my attention was the phrase in the book,
"Is this what comes at the end?... Maybe death is the great equalizer, the one big thing that can finally make strangers shed a tear for one another."
This was the second time I encountered that phrase. The first time was during my WORLITE (World Literature) class. My professor was discussing the theme behind the short story "The Garden Party." It was mentioned there the same thought that death is the great equalizer.
As I analyze it, I began to start to convince myself that it is true. We are born in this world, we get to live, and by living we experience different things that life has to offer. It maybe not good at all but that's just how life runs. There are people who are fortunate than others, better than others, and luckier than others; which only proves that life is truly unfair. Then suddenly there is death that we can never escape from. Whether we're fortunate than others, better than others, or luckier than others, there will be a time that we will die. We're mortals after all, we are designed to die in the end
The thought of dying is scary actually, coz we have no idea what awaits us, but then it's another story. The only thing left for us to do before death comes is to enjoy and love what we have. To see our life as a blessing rather than pain and suffering because life if composed of good and bad things we just need to live with it because it will end soon. Remember, when a door closes a new one opens. :)

Quote
So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself in loving others, devote yourself to the community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that give you purpose and meaning.
