If you enjoy what I do here, please do me a favor! Hanako-san is up for the 2018 Inspirit Awards on the Yo-kai Watch Twitter, as one of the “best newcomers” along with a bunch of S-Rank and SS-Rank Yo-kai. I’m not sure why she’s paired in with them, but something in me thinks it could mean big news for her if she wins!

Yo-kai Mail: Noroino Hanako Charm!
I’ve been waiting for a very long time to get this, and yesterday it finally arrived!
Tumblr media
However, the package had more than just Noroino Hanako. Check it out after the break!
Tumblr media
Besides the charm, I also got a small Venoct sticker! Yoroz Mart has a promotion sometimes that gives out a free sticker when you buy something (or sometimes if you spend a certain amount.) I think the art’s really nice.
Tumblr media
In addition to that, the seller used bubble wrap to make sure nothing happened to the charm. To keep the wrap in place, they used these really cool traveling Jibanyan stickers (or is it tape?) and I love them! They’re shaped like little tickets and have Jibanyan dressed in outfits from various parts of the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a really nice touch for the seller to add even more Yo-kai Watch to the packaging! To top it all off, they were nice enough to send the Yoroz Mart bag along with everything, and it’s the smallest one I’ve ever seen!
Tumblr media
It’s kind of cute, in my opinion.
That’s it for this Yo-kai Mail, and I’m very happy with what I got. Another piece for my Hanako-san collection!

Toy Review: Electronic PAWS OF FURY Jibanyan
He's here! Hasbro's Electronic PAWS OF FURY JIBANYAN!
Unlike 'Hip Hop Hero Komajiro' and 'Wise Words Whisper,' Jibanyan's electronic toy was never released in America. He has been shown at multiple toy fairs, but despite that, he's never hit store shelves in the USA. It’s a shame, because he does the most out of the trio.
Tumblr media
Let’s get training with him after the break, nya!
Komajiro and Whisper play music and talk, but Jibanyan talks and actually punches! Komajiro's hat can he pushed and Whisper's arm can be pulled, but the whole gimmick of Jibanyan is to practice his Soultimate move, Paws of Fury. Like the other toys, Jibanyan lights up--in this case, his cheeks.
Tumblr media
If you press the bell around his neck, he'll speak. If you haven't played with him for a while, he'll say "Jibanyan!" for the first press. After that, he'll say different versions of "nya!" or "nya nya!" at random, and will also say those if you push his arms back. After enough single punches (if you start making him punch quickly,) he'll shout the "nya-nya-nya-nya-nya!" voice clip like the way he does the attack in the television show.
It's not very often that I open Yo-kai toys, but for Jibanyan I had to be able to see everything he could do. Komajiro and Whisper could do everything right from the box, but Jibanyan took a little construction.
Tumblr media
Jibanyan's tails come separated from him in the box, which I can understand as they're rather long. On the flames, two long pegs are used to push into the back of his head to keep them secure. On his back is a blue ring; you can pull on this to make his paws punch, which is the entire point of the toy. Unfortunately, doing this makes him punch no faster than pressing his bell. The box says pulling will make him "pummel," but it doesn't unless you constantly tug it yourself.
Tumblr media
After he has enough training for one time (after the rapid "nya-nya-nya!" attack,) Jibanyan will let out a big yawn to fall asleep.
I can't really show him off without a video, so here's something small that demonstrates what he does:
youtube
He's somewhat loud, but all three of the electronic toys are. I'm not sure what his cheeks lighting up have to do with his attack; his mouth or fists lighting up would have made more sense.
Tumblr media
I have no idea why Jibanyan wasn't released in America. Maybe it's because Hasbro and Yo-kai Watch don't have a very healthy relationship, considering most Yo-kai items, new and old, have been hitting Dollar Tree rather than Toys R Us. Perhaps it could be because the other two electronic toys are so scarce, there was no point? If that's the case, it's odd that they didn't sell it on their website like they did Komajiro and Whisper. Note that this is all speculation on my part. I don't know anything official.
I can't give out a purchase link this time because I was extremely lucky and found it on eBay. Jibanyan will pop up on eBay now and again, but I've never seen him on Amazon or any of the usual toy websites I check for Yo-kai stuff. If you want to get your hands on the punching cat, keep an eye on eBay. You can search for "Paws of Fury Jibanyan" but you're going to get many listings for the promotional medal that was given out when the first watch toy was released.
Tumblr media
Good luck finding him! Hopefully you won’t need a Yo-kai Watch!

Yo-kai Mail: eBay Lot!
Today, I got a nice big package full of Yo-kai mail! This was from an eBay lot for an incredibly good price (in my opinion.) According to the auction listing, this is what we'll be looking at today (in no particular order):
- The first issue of the manga. (In Japanese)
- A full color book that goes in depth highlighting all the characters from the anime (before the Model Zero.)
- Two large books: a colored version of Nyanderful Days Vol 4, and I assume a kids' magazine with a bunch of Yo-kai comics. There are trading cards inside one, and a paper-craft Komasan in the Nyanderful Days one. Also, a toy Yo-kai Pad comes with one of the magazines. It lights up with batteries. According to the seller, there was a pen that came with it to write on but customs removed it. Not sure why.
- A small, toy version of the Yo-kai Watch U. Not meant for regular medals.
- A 2016 McDonald's calendar and exclusive Mogmog Brothers medal, with stickers and a promo page for song medals.
- A sealed pack of Series 2 Hasbro medals and promotional temporary tattoos.
Let's get started!
Tumblr media
First off, a McDonald's 2016 Yo-kai Watch calendar!
For those who may not be familiar, McDonald's restaurants in Japan usually sell a (usually Pokemon) calendar for the upcoming year. For a few years, though, Yo-kai Watch has had a calendar as well--and it's much, much nicer than the one you can buy in America from bookstores or websites. For one, this one has McDonald's branding so the restaurant is used in one of the pages, and the art is just fantastic. Not to mention there was a certain page I was happy to see included.
Tumblr media
I had seen this page before, but I had forgotten specifically which calendar had it. It's mine now!
I can't scan the pages as my scanner is too small and I am NOT destroying this to do it. I'll take pictures of all of the art if anyone would like to see them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This and the following picture are an advertisement page included with the calendar. From pictures alone I assume it’s just an ad for the Yo-kai Watch U Prototype and showing off the different song medals and the newest Medallium at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stickers! The calendar came with a full page! No Hanako, though. Shame.
Moving on!
...
Tumblr media
Next we have 2 large books: Nyanderful Days Vol 4 (with colored pages) and another magazine that has Yo-kai Content. I've read a few translated chapters of Nyanderful Days online, and for anyone not familiar with it, it's a manga (comic) series about Katie getting the Yo-kai Watch instead of Nate. She meets Whisper and Jibanyan in a very different way. The other book is a young childrens' magazine called "Celebrate! Life in Kindergarten" from 2015. It also has Doraemon comics.
Tumblr media
I wish I could read Japanese! What I have read of Nyanderful Days has been really, really good! I hope Viz decides to bring it to America. There’s a papercraft Komasan kit inside, but I’m not taking it out and risking damage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we have a Yo-kai Watch guide, a small toy based on the U Prototype watch, and a Yo-kai Pad toy. I assume the Yo-kai Pad is like one of those light-up screen toys where you can scribble on it and then clean it off with a switch or something, but without the pen I'm not sure how much use I could get out of it--that's why I haven't bothered opening it.
Tumblr media
The toy watch is really nothing all that special--if it's anything like the past models, you can put the medal inside which does nothing, and the Yo-kai light on top will light up one color and that's it. It comes with gum, or at least older versions did. I don't know if I'm going to open this or not, since I just told you everything it does and the gum is years old.
Tumblr media
This book has information on characters in the anime, but it looks to be from before the Model Zero watch. The art inside is really nice, though. I may post pictures in the future.
Tumblr media
Like I said, this lights up and I assume you’re meant to doodle on it. I’m not really sure.
...
Tumblr media
Here we have the Japanese version of volume 1 of the manga, and a pack of Hasbro's medals from series 2. I have all of series 2 already so I don't really feel the need to open this. I assume they'd be commons anyway.
Tumblr media
Finally, the tattoos. These have English on the back, so I assume they were from Play Nintendo event or something, as I've never seen them in stores. The medal is the one that came with the calendar: Mogmog Brothers. If you've been with me for a while, you'll know I got this medal a few years ago. It's a song medal with Ronald McDonald and Jibanyan singing about burgers and fries, ending with Jibanyan singing the "I'm lovin' it" jingle.
Tumblr media
And that'll be the end of it. That entire lot for under $20 is pretty darn fantastic, I think.

Yo-kai Gummies at Dollar General!
You may have noticed others commenting about it, but today I was able to check for myself: Dollar General (not Tree, this time it’s right) has Yo-kai Watch Gummies!

Yo-kai Mail: More Medals!
I got four Yo-kai Medals in the mail today! Along with three that I picked up from Amazon Japan, my Hanako-san Treasure Medal arrived as well. The Yo-kai Watch Dream needed an update to play it, but unfortunately, treasure medals for regular Yo-kai don’t have any different sounds or music.
It’s still really pretty, though. And I once again have all of Hanako-san’s Yo-kai Medals!

REVIEW: Yo-kai Watch Gummies
After months of searching and refusing to pay ridiculous prices online, I finally found them today in a Spencer's Gifts: YO-KAI WATCH GUMMIES! They had both regular and sour, but I don't like sour candy so I grabbed the regular bag. I was probably more excited to try these than I was about anything else I bought today!
Let's get started! The pictures aren't going to be a perfect quality because they're gummies--the faces and details are never printed correctly on fruit snacks of any kind, so bear with me here.
Tumblr media
As soon as I got these, I had to snap a picture. I was so excited to finally find them!
Tumblr media
Our first Yo-kai are Jibanyan and Robonyan. Robonyan is cherry flavored, and Jibanyan is strawberry flavored.
Jibanyan's a little blurry, so here's another picture:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blue Raspberry flavored Whisper! His eyes are a little weird, but since he doesn't have much in the way of facial features at all, he looks pretty good.
Tumblr media
Komasan! Oh my apple-flavored swirls! Komasan is apple flavored, and his details actually look pretty good. You can see a lot of his body swirls and make out his eyebrows. I got a second Komasan that's facing the opposite direction and just decided to call it Komajiro.
Now that you've seen them, how do they taste?
I personally loved them and will buy them again. The other person that tried them thought they were too chewy and "nasty." The gummies are very, very chewy; if you have braces, you should NOT eat these, because they will rip them out from being so thick and sticky.
The flavors vary depending on which one. Jibanyan and Robonyan have a tart, strong taste. I couldn't taste any specific fruit with any of them, except with Robonyan that did taste a little like cherry, but very strong and tart. Apple and blue raspberry don't taste like those at all, they just taste like the same generic fruit flavoring that you would find in a box of TV show/cartoon character fruit snacks from a grocery store.
Are they worth it? Totally, they're a great snack food. My bag was $3.99, but I bought them in a mall so the price was higher than you'd probably find it in a grocery store or any other kind of store.
I only have a few complaints. Like I said, they all share the same "artificial fruit" flavor, and despite the bag's size, there's a very disappointing amount of gummies actually in it. The bag wasn't even half full. There was enough to fill the see-through window on the front of the bag, but they didn't go much higher than that.
I'll post a purchase link here, but do note that an incredibly lightweight item like this will cost a ridiculous amount with shipping. Whether or not you want to pay $10 for a bag of gummies is up to you, but I've read they're available at Toys R Us as well, in addition to the Spencer's Gifts I found them at.
Regular flavor here.
Sour flavor here.

TOY REVIEW: Yo-kai Watch Accessory Kit (Komasan)
A long time ago, I posted a picture of the three Yo-kai Watch accessory sets by Hasbro. These are meant for you to use to customize your original Yo-kai Watch by changing the cover and adding pieces to the band. I recently decided to try out one of them after dropping my watch and scuffing up the plastic cover on the top.
Tumblr media
Are these worth your money? Do these sets make your Yo-kai Watch custom and cool? Read on to find out!
Tumblr media
With Komasan being my favorite of the three sets (Jibanyan, Komasan, and Robonyan,) he's the one I chose. As you can see, the set comes with a Komasan cover, Komajiro and Noko biters, and Cheeksqueek, Walkappa, Wiglin, and Happierre band pieces. I'm not sure what the pieces are actually named, so that's what I'll call them throughout.
Tumblr media
The first thing you need to do is check the instructions. Removing the plastic cover off your watch is a little more complicated than just grabbing it and yanking; if you pull too hard, you'll just break it off and possibly damage the watch so you can't replace them. It's a matter of being very gentle until you feel the top pop out. Seeing the two holes on the top of the Komasan bubble and looking at the now bare watch face will show you two little pieces that it should snap into place without much trouble.
Tumblr media
It looks pretty nice, I think! Sure, it doesn't look much like the watch from the series, but in exchange, you get a cute little Komasan smiling up at you! I think it's a nice trade! While it looks nice, there is a problem with it.
Tumblr media
I don't know if it's just my particular one had a problem, but it won't completely cover the top. It's snapped on properly, I've pressed down with pressure to make sure nothing's popping off, but it still stays a little pushed upward. It's not a problem for someone using it as an intended because it's still snapped in place by the piece on the right of the watch. It just looks weird if you're a nitpicker about these things like I am.
Tumblr media
Now for the biters, or whatever they're actually called--I just call them that because they remind me of "shoelace biters" from when I was younger. This set comes with Komajiro and Noko, and I decided it was more fitting to put Komasan's little brother on my new Koma Watch. Besides decor, this doesn't really do anything. Then again, with this being a customization set, I don't think it's -supposed- to do anything.
Tumblr media
I didn't put many of these other pieces on because I can't see the purpose for them. If you could replace the one on the top of the watch band, that would make much more sense, but you're not intended to--the pictures on the instructions show they're meant to be on the bottom with the size holes. What is the point of this? Just to have different pieces on the watch? The reason I'm questioning this so much is that you wouldn't normally see these pieces with the watch on your wrist, you would have to either take the watch off or move it around and have the face and bubble hanging on the bottom of your arm and risk getting bumped and scuffed.
Tumblr media
The cover works as intended; you push it down, it snaps shut, and pressing the button opens it again. Nothing changes with the watch besides having a new face rather than a see-through bubble.
Tumblr media
Should you pick one of these sets up? If you want to change your watch up a little bit, go for it. They're cheap these days and they would be a nice collector's item if you don't intend to open them.
I’m not going to post links this time because they seem to vary in price depending on which version you choose and which site you use. I would try eBay or HasbroToyShop first as Amazon is trying to sell them as “Add-on items” that require you to spend $25 or more to get them.

Yo-kai Watch PEZ!
This information was posted by the user "mejjos" on the Yo-kai Watch Subreddit.
Yo-kai Watch PEZ dispensers are coming! To Europe!
Unfortunately, as far as I can find there's no sign of these crossing the pond to America. There's four Yo-kai here: Jibanyan, Komasan, Komajiro, and Robonyan. I'll show some more pictures and link the announcement blog posted in the thread under the break. Credit goes to the blog that originally posted these images.

Tumblr media
Hanako’s Sangokushi version from a Sangokushi-themed Scramble Battle.
