                  not  knowing  where  the  two  stood  drove  her  absolutely  insane  ,  not  knowing  if  she  was  able  to  get  another  chance  from  ryan  ,  one  that  she  would  take  seriously  this  time  and  not  fuck  up  like  she  did  with  the  other  chances  in  the  past  .  after  putting  herself  in  ones  shoes  ,  eyes  finally  opened  up  and  realized  how  her  actions  had  rubbed  off  on  someone  else  ,  in  a  bad  way  to  say  the  least  .  the  games  maleia  had  decided  to  play  with  ryan  were  getting  old  ,  toxicity  at  it’s  finest  and  she  wasn’t  proud  of  that  ,  everyone  had  noticed  it  as  well  and  that  had  become  extremely  embarrassing  .  “  are  you  sure  ry  ?  ”  eyes  shifted  from  her  lap  over  to  the  other  as  the  two  sat  on  the  familiar  couch  ,  hands  anxiously  fidgeted  beneath  her  as  the  pounded  of  her  heart  in  chest  began  to  make  palms  sweaty  ,  “  does  that  mean  you’re  giving  me  another  chance  ?  ”  femme  became  hopeful  for  the  first  time  since  this  conversation  had  began  ,  hoping  and  praying  that  she’d  be  able  to  show  ryan  how  much  she  had  meant  to  her  ,  finally  after  many  months  and  months  ,  “  i  mean  it  when  i  say  that  i  don’t  want  to  hurt  you  anymore  .  ”

                           she’s  ready  to  write  another  heartbreak  in  a  book  titled  after  them  ,    plucked  off  the  shelf  with  nervous  fingers  because  familiarity  is  always  easier  to  fall  into  than  push  away  .    ryan’s  head  is  filled  with  the  possible  outcomes  of  another  tragedy  but  she  lets  them  leave  her  mind  and  be  replaced  with  the  moments  she’ll  cling  to  right  here  ,    eyes  capturing  a  glimpse  of  maleia’s  soft  eyes  and  shy  composure  .    it’s  not  often  she’s  met  with  the  sight  .    “  yeah  ,    i’m  sure  .    i  think  .  “    she  swallows  the  heaviness  in  throat  ,    nodding  again  and  letting  locks  fall  over  her  shoulder  and  shield  her  face  from  maleia’s  eyes  .    “  then  don’t  .    it’s  not  like  you  have  no  control  over  it  .    you’re  the  one  who  decides  if  you’re  gonna  love  me  or  not  .    the  right  way  .  and  i  mean  if  you  can’t  ...    i  guess  that  just  shows  what  kind  of  person  you  are  .  “    last  few  words  are  said  quietly  ,    something  of  a  mumble  but  still  loud  enough  to  be  heard  over  the  distant  humming  of  kitchen  appliances  and  apartment  background  buzz  .    ryan’s  still  staring  at  the  hands  in  her  lap  ,    fidgeting  thumbs  and  picking  at  pink  polish  before  moving  hair  away  from  her  line  of  sight  .    “  and  i  don’t  think  you’re  that  kind  of  person  .  “
