November's patreon video is a (mostly) real-time making of "Blue," a watercolour painting of this little guy passively floating down a slow river in a somber kind of mood.
It's okay, though, 'cause yellow duckling friends are always standing by, ready to have a nice time together 😊

Saw some yellow weeds growing in a ditch, and they were like little bits of sunlight on a dreary, grey day.

I was the kind of kid that had absolutely zero interest in others. 😅 At recess, I would lay on the wet grass with my feet dangling in the sky, pretending gravity had flipped and everything was tumbling off through the clouds into vast space.
This is what I was busy doing when another lonely kid walked up to me and asked if the position of best friend was currently available. I was like, "Sure, okay," and we're still friends 30 years later. 😆
It's kind of funny how lonely kids easily recognize each other from a distance, feet in the air, with a thousand-yard stare. Kind of a dead giveaway I guess, heh.

Been enjoying the pylons around town! They add such a fun shape and a pop of bright colour to any ordinary scene.

Flipping through my stack of older paintings that I haven't been giving much attention to lately, their little stories just as relevant as they were at the creation stage
So I'm having a sale!

Latest video on youtube, I got bored and challenged myself to make a watercolour painting using only dollar store art supplies.
Conclusion, dollar store watercolor is gooey and weird!

Making paintbrushes with thistle fluff
Just goofing around and really didn't think it would work, but he handed me some thistle fluff and my fairy craft mode locked in.
Silicone glue on a stick, for water resistance. I'd say the wire was just for show if it wasn't so ugly. Oh well, maybe next time will be prettier!
It's actually holding together and picking up paint, AND creating a variety of line weight? Are you kidding me?
It actually works?? 🥹

Thought I was too sad to attend the Opus plein air painting challenge, but went anyway, and we found a hummingbird nest! :O

Another beach day, another quick watercolour sketch. Quite windy! It's nice to slow down and take in all the shapes and colours.
The crows might have been siblings, they are giving each other major side eye lol

An Art-chaological Mystery
When you get to paint a fun cat commission, but mount it on a pretty wood panel that's already been painted two or three times. It's like three secret paintings in one!
I think it was once roses, and before that, something with blue.

Another method of forcing creativity during a bad time when you SUPER don't want to draw anything 🤬
I studied a photo of a yawning rain frog, but made him look VERY ANGRY!! In a box!! I love incorporating text, and slashing a pencil across my surface. But most of all, this is a green that makes me very happy, so when I'm done being annoyed, I can at least brave a little smile in the end...
