We've an orange weather warning in Ireland!
I love painting snow. You can use any colours to paint it, it doesn't have to be white.

Oil on canvas
This is a repost of a painting I did 3 years ago today 馃コ it was a present to my sister. This is one of my earliest聽oil paintings聽and one of my favourites 鉂わ笍
I loved painting this one so much due to the warm colours and it's just such a gorgeous bird

The trees outside my office window are slowly turning yellow and the very tips of them are orange - and I think a little red. They're giving me real cozy and autumn-y feels.
So here's a little pumpkin I painted during my Oiltober challenge a few years ago.
I'm thinking of doing Oiltober again this year. I didn't get a chance to do it last year as I moved in with my partner and honestly, I wasn't fully unpacked until November.
I will likely be streaming a few bits of Oiltober 2024 over on Twitch I say.

Woods of Valinor
40 x 50 cm, oil on canvas.
This beautiful original oil painting was inspired by the Lord of the Rings Podcast that was playing in the background as I laid down the first brushstrokes. The way Tom described the Lamps of the Valar really cemented the contrasting lights and shadows in this piece.
What's interesting is, this is actually a screenshot from the video game Eastshade but when I was painting, the podcast made me feel like I was painting Valinor.
For inquiries on this please, don't hesitate to reach out!

I did a quick session on Clip Studio Paint and raised up the trees (hedges?) on the right to sorta match the trees I have on the left.

Almost finished!
The castle came out so well despite the fact I really struggled at the start 馃槅
Just need to do the grass on the bottom right and fix up the middle part - it's not looking right for me. Any suggestions there?

So, it's been about 1 year since I painted this and when sorting out my finished paintings that I keep tucked away (please someone take them from me 馃槶) I discovered that I never varnished this piece.
And here it is! The completely finished painting of Pedro in Skyrim.
Hope you enjoyed 鉂わ笍

Fandom Friday, 08/23: Fanart!
Tumblr media
Hello again, everyone鈥nd welcome to another installment of Fandom Friday, the two-post series where I go off to find new and interesting fanworks that might need a bit more visibility.
Before we get started, I think I might have a few announcements, so please bear with me...
First, I'm not sure if I'm coming down with anything while I'm typing this or not, so if I start rambling nonsensically about things I wouldn't normally bring up...I apologize in advance.
Second, two weeks ago, I didn't exactly get the accurate response I'd hoped for as far as interest checks go for this post series...so if I tag anybody who likes this post and include a poll sometime this weekend, it's because I want to know who to tag and who to leave alone to lurk in peace.
Anyways...since I think I've covered everything I wanted to bring up here, it's time to get into my picks of the week!

In conclusion, as part of my mission to poke around the Star Wars fandom and, on Friday every two weeks, highlight those artists who might otherwise go unnoticed鈥 hope you will check out the links I have included for yourselves and like, comment on, and reblog them, as well as also giving the artists a few more followers to their Tumblr pages.
Please also like and reblog this latest installment so that these links can be spread around to as many other fans as possible, just in case not all of them can tune in at the same time.
An additional thank you goes to聽@djarrex聽for making the divider I used earlier in this post, but still want to give credit for.
And finally, so that I do not forget鈥his post will be continued in its second half: the Fanfiction Edition.
Thank you, good morning, and I鈥檒l see you in the next post!

Cape Clear South Harbour
Original oil painting on canvas paper.
This little painting is a glimpse into a bay on the island of Cape Clear. This piece of paradise is nestled off the coast of Ireland and has some of the most beautiful scenes that this painting cannot do justice.
I've spent many summers here, swimming in the bay and speaking and improving my Irish.
Measures 10 x 15 cm - not framed

About me!
Hi! I'm the Yellow Beanie Girl. I'm a self-taught oil painter who specializes in landscapes and I'd like to welcome your to my Tumblr!
I'll keep this short and simple: I love art, and I want to share my love with you!
I'm from Cork, Ireland, and a lot of my paintings are of the landscapes around my home. My passion for art began before I could remember, but my journey of oil painting started just before Covid in November 2019 when I took an oil painting class. During the many lockdowns in Ireland, I used that time to continue painting and developing my skill.
You can find my website here with my socials:
And I also sell my art here:
I'm also open to discussing potential painting commissions. Please reach out to me on my Instagram if interested!
