stigma against womenās rugby from other women.
recently i started #womanās rugby and its an amazing sport overall, iāve never received such hateful comments from my own gender as much as i do right now. A lot of women argue that rugby is a āmanlyā sport and it is violent but as a hockey player as well, hockey is also a very violent sport, but no one says anything about it being a manly sport. I genuinely think female rugby players need extremely more support from woman because we definitely are getting it from the majority of men!

a guide to passive academia

read slowly. page by page, paragraph by paragraph. donāt rush your booksālet the content settle properly.
listen to lectures while doing other thingsāgetting ready, cooking, on the subway. passive learning makes revision so much easier.
study in environments that feel comfortableāa quiet library, cosy at home, or a nice cafĆ© with good coffee.
annotate with intention. a single well-placed note is more effective than cluttered, wordy sentences, especially in academic reading.
donāt stop a good study session. if it flows, lean into it. let yourself stay in the moment.
read outside of school. donāt limit yourself to your studiesāif something interests you, explore it further.
constant revision. got a minute? glance at your notes. familiarity deepens understanding effortlessly.
candles for late-night study sessions. candlelight can be easier on the eyes than harsh artificial lighting, especially compared to screens or fluorescent lights.
spend time in museums. become familiar with artists and exhibitions, read the little signs, and write down interesting observations.
read philosophy, but donāt rush to have an opinion. let the questions linger, explore different perspectives, and give yourself time to see where you stand.
keep a brain dump notebook. always in your bag, ready for any passing thought. donāt worry about making it prettyājust write it down and return to it later.
find friends who care about academia. discussing what youāre learning makes it feel like conversation, not study.

curly hairstyles for the winter
the key to keeping your curly hair protected during the winter is making sure it is kept together and not left out too much and it can be protected with a scarf or hoodie. also making sure it is moisturised is key!
here are some cute hairstyles u can try out.

bantu knots are super cute and easy to do and fit intro scarves and hoodies aswell. they last veryyy long and you will have the cutest twist out at the end. they make it easy to moisturise your hair and maintain heat.

buns also keep in heat and are easy to do. theyre cute and simple but do not put too much tension in your bun otherwise you risk losing hair

pigtails are also a good hairstyle, the do the exact same thing as buns and work better for shorter hair. but also pigtail braids are so cute aswell.
additionally if you have long hair u can try fishtail braids. they bring a cuter, rustic feel to your braids.

the guide to healthy curly hair
curly hair is beautiful but its hard to maintain especially for beginners. I hate seeing girls do everything wrong and damaging for their hair because it looks good and i want to help with that.
know your curl pattern
it is important to know your curl pattern because it helps you to know what works for your hair and what doesn't. i don't even know how many times i did certain things for my hair that just didn't work because of what type of curl pattern i had. its like searching 'hairstyles' and seeing a bunch of straight hair styles and thinking it would work for you. learn what doesn't work for your hair and do what does work for it.
shampoo less often
with curly hair you shouldn't be washing your hair everyday and it might seem like common sense but i have met too many people who wash their hair everyday. its better to wash your hair once or twice a week, after every curly hair style or after every protective style.
use sulfate free shampoos
using sulfate free shampoos have made my hair feel much healthier. it doesn't leave my curls completely stripped and dry. aunt jackie's and argan oil of morocco shampoos are a good choice.
trim, trim, trim
trimming your hair regularly leaves them feeling and looking wayyyy healthier and prevent split end which damage your head more in the end. if u see a split end get your hair TRIMMED. to have long hair u need to have healthy hair
always let me know what you all want tips on next! byeee

A guide to a functional and strong core
training your core can be confusing and tasking especially with all these videos on social media telling you what to do and what not to do; and each one contradicting the other. this core workout has been my day one and has got me right, it has made my core stronger and helped me build that hourglass look. this is also a functional core workout meaning it helps actually strengthen your core for everyday things and sports and not only aesthetics
nutrition
having amazing abs and a functional core isnt only doing workouts, its nutrition too. to look healthy you have to eat healthy. and from what ive seen; the healthier i ate and also the more i did CARDIO (cardio is a hugeee step in an amazing core) the more my abs showed through and looked toned. i donāt count calories i just eat eggs and bread in the mornings with some coffee and whatever is cooked for dinner; it usually consists of meat, legumes or beans, and rice, ALWAYS RICE. but pasta is also a quick and easy meal that is also healthy
note: YOUR BODY WILL NOT ALWAYS LOOK PERFECT, we go through different stages in life and our physique will change. WE ARE HUMAN.
cardio/HIIT
I know you dont want to hear it but cardio is essential to having a good core. As an athlete (basketball and track) it is easier for me to fit my cardio into my program but when holidays roll around i dont have access to a track or court as much as i used to. so i run ATLEAST once a week but aim for 3 times a week to get my cardio in. if i dont run i follow cardio workouts on youtube and HIIT workouts as well. i also enjoy dancing and jump rope as forms of cardio
core workout
- Plank Hold: 1 minute x 3
- Russian Twists: 20 reps x 3
- Bicycle Crunches: 20 reps x 3
- Plank with Shoulder Taps: 30 seconds x 3
- Hanging Knee Raises: 15 x 3
- sprinter holds 10 x 3
- bulldog pull throughs 10 x 3
- core stability twists 10 x 3
do this workout 3 times a week + cardio and keeping up with your nutrition. i guarantee that your core will be looking great in a few weeks

curly hair routine for 4a hair
this routine gets my hair juicy and my curls end up being SUPER defined
1. use leave in conditioner in your hair
i wet my hair till it is dripping and then use leave in conditioner or oil moisturiser, i recommend the mielle leave in conditioner or the dark and lovely oil moisturiser
2. add curl cream
i add curl cream to still wet hair. i use the cantu curl cream
3. add mousse to roots and ends
i use mousse on my ends and especially my roots, it helps that the roots are especially wet and that focus on roots when passing and not just finger coiling and leaving it alone because it will puff up. i use olive oil mousse on my hair
4. add gel to your hair and scrunch
gel helps your curls hold its shape. so i apply the gel then i finger coil my hair because just raking through my hair doesnt do it for me. i use eco styling gel
5. dry your hair and pick it out!
once you are done finger coiling, you can use a diffuser or let it air dry (make sure u part your hair before u dry. it is easier that way). once your hair is done, put oil on your hands and put it at your roots and pull out a bit but also shakee. i use amla oil
after your hair should be beautiful!!
(disclaimer: this works especially well for my hair but u can move some steps around or add some to make it work for yours!)
