Hate people saying “gay men face violence, but lesbians face objectification!” As trying to say both have it bad… you’re correct in your analysis that both groups are targeted and oppressed but why would you say it like that. Even if you mean otherwise people (especially men) are not going to see this as equal. The objectification lesbians face IS violence. Men just think its people thinking you’re sexy or watching porn of you. Obviously that sucks, but it’s what it adds up to. Objectification is men telling two women to kiss on a subway and beating them up or killing them when they refuse. Objectification is a young lesbian facing corrective rape. Objectification is lesbian’s being unable to adopt. Objectification is a lesbian who was raped by another women being laughed at by police and asked invasive questions by judges and lawyers simply for their own sexual gratification and curiosity if she tries to take it to court or succeeds(which is very unlikely). Objectification is being killed when you refuse a man and say you’re a lesbian. What is this with people trying to downplay violence against lesbian and bisexual women with women.

It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. I feel like going through shinobumono for the anime is interesting bc like, it really is a script format that works better for tv than a novel but also I know the answer to the mystery so it’s an interesting experience as a reread. While I do think it is visually easier to parse it also somehow feels very fast bc so much is happening.

I liked seeing Meniko and Higasa tho. The voice direction for the former helps emphasize her autism swag. For the latter you get to see more Higasa (tm), it really feels like in a good portion of monster season they really try to build her up more as a side character. I suppose nisio wanted for her to get more attention than she got by hanamonogatari.

It’s pretty interesting they did non movie kizu animation.

I think the animation is abt what I expect even if there’s some interesting allusions made by shared motif. (Drowning/undwater symbol club)

Do you want dozens of extremely high quality scans of ancient anime magazine stuff??? Well Vanna here, delivery in hand!

I've scanned (it takes two scans per page) the 1997 Newtype Magazine run of Revolutionary Girl Utena, with each page I found referencing it scanned. You can see the buzz climb to its highest in the page count, even!

I will eventually add the next few months, since they do indeed have Utena content, but as it is, this is already a huge amount of stuff. In each Newtype, I've scanned the cover, table of contents, any Utena spreads or articles, the episode summaries and ratings pages, and even the Utena adverts and Utena fanarts! I've also scanned extra tidbits like Masami Okui's solo album MA-KING adverts, and spreads featuring voice actresses that include our illustrious cast!

There are more magazine clippings incoming, as well as a huge site update, and Utena Musical streams in late July/August!!! (I'm thinking of doing a bromide giveaway along with them, and either way will announce more!) Now to go post in the Weekly Watch thread! Oh God, we got to Aki-

I used to be obsessed with Newtype USA, though I rarely bought the magazines because of the cost. At $9.95, they would be a steal nowadays.

This issue had Fooly Cooly postcards! The coolest character designs but I could never make it through the OVAs—a little too manic for me. :/

The cover story: .Hack stuff! Another series I never finished (.hack//Sign—I don't think I've watched or played anything else). The OP, art design, and whole "trapped-in-a-game" story (before SAO) were cool, though!

L: I'm pretty good with recognizing anime but this one is not in my memory bank at all. Anyone watch this series? Was it good?

R: Oh boy, look at all the dead companies here: Central Park Media, Suncoast, Fry's, and—my prediction—Best Buy eventually, too. That Ebert quote got a TON of play back in the day, too. I'm pretty sure I used it in more than one article.

More FLCL. Any fans out there?

Words cannot express how utterly disappointed I am when it comes to helping Sudan. People are hesitant to show their support. They would even dismiss it. No, I am not making this shit up. I have been talking to people about Sudan and their reaction is lacklustre!

I know anti-blackness plays a significant role, along with the lack of media coverage (which is, again, due to anti-blackness), but this is unacceptable. Many people are dying. The country going through a flooding. Homes are destroyed. Families are displaced. Famine is claiming more lives than the RSF (Rapid Support Forces) and SAF (Sudanese Armed Forces) combined.

They need our help!

She has been campaigning since January of this year, but she struggles to receive donations to this day! The last one was made 2 DAYS AGO!

Today we took our little son to the hospital because he suffers from a chest infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.
