✶*✧Introduction to Spell Sealing✧*✶
Everything must come to an end.
This is an area of spellcraft that doesn’t get a lot of publicity because for most people it just becomes a natural part of the process.  However, if you want to mix up how you do it, try something new, or otherwise let go of the way you were originally taught, this might be a good resource for performing rituals!
What are Sealed Spells?
In the context of magic you usually hear about sealing and binding like binding a person or something from being able to do something.  Here we're talking more like a binding contract.  This is a binding or seal locks in an action or intent.  It is binding in the way an agreement is binding.  You have given it firm parameters that it must follow and you have endeavored to finalize the action.  You have provided certainty, locked in your answer, sealed the deal.
The benefits of this are inherent in the finality.  You have a set thing that now is much harder to alter and is much harder to waver in its purpose.  This is no longer some multi-purpose object.  It has varitably been christened for this and this alone.  The work to undo it will be just as rigorous as the work to do it in the first place.  A light cleansing of your materials afterwards might not be enough.  You're gonna need the spiritual bleach.
To some extent you might just feel that something needs to be finalized.  If you feel it in your gut like you need something to formally end the working, these are what you might be looking for.
More Common Than You Think
This might be more familiar to you than you would initially think.  Signing your name on something at the end is a common one, but even in a ritual sphere there are many examples.  This is going to be your “so mote it be”, your “Amen”, and your other declarations of finality.  Even purely secular situations often have rituals of finality.  I think you’ll find that when these things are left out, there is sometimes a feeling of the energy hanging in the air.  In a lot of ways it does not feel right.  Whether this is the social convention of signaling to everything and everyone present that the ritual has come to a conclusion, or just to announce you’re finished, there is some power to it.
Types of Seals
There are several different ways to express finality in your workings.  Here are just a few examples.
Shutting the Door and Sealing the Envelope
If your work involves some kind of lid or package, you can physically seal it.  Whether this is corking a jar, sealing with wax, tying a string around something etc.  If this is a possibility it is a good way to finalize a spell.
Written and Spoken Seals
Whether this is through signing something like you might finalize a formal contract or expressing that it is finalized verbally.  A few examples of this are listed above that you may have heard before, but there is really nothing stopping you from making your own.
Kiss Seals
Sealing with a kiss.  Kissing something to finalize has historical precedent and takes no extra tools to complete besides your lips.  Whether this is physically using your lips or the other means, this is one option for a quick seal.  Just don’t kiss poison.
Burning, Burying, and Bestrewing
Few things are more final than destruction.  Once you’ve set the flame, you’ve pretty much confined what you’ve set on fire to that purpose forever.  Burying something in the ground would be another example of this.  Whether you feel the finality is from returning it to the earth, or because you are sealing it in a tomb of soul, this will certainly signal that it is done.  Some feel like things are not complete until they’ve scattered the ashes, in which case throwing something to the wind could be your version of finality.
Whether this is through signing something like you might finalize a formal contract or expressing that it is finalized verbally.  A few examples of this are listed above that you may have heard before, but there is really nothing stopping you from making your own.
Sigil Seals
An extension of the written or spoken seals are sigil seals.  It accomplishes much the same thing, but can be a little more formal.  Some might think this is kind of a stretch, but wax seals, like what might go on a letter, could fall into this category, technically.

Introduction to Sigils
Sigils are magical drawings or symbols imbued with spellwork.  They are generally either self-contained spells or part of a string of symbols.
Forms of Sigils: A few examples to help you along! Preexisting Sigils and Runes: This one is fairly self explanatory.  This is using existing sigils and or runes to channel intent.  Nordic runes, Egyptian hieroglyphs, and even Chinese characters are open game for usage when charging them with intent.  Alchemical symbols and religious symbols also tend to fall into this category.  From the fish of Christianity to Brigid’s cross, all the way to the sigils of demons, there are upwards of thousands of symbols that have been used throughout history both tied to deities and not.
Word sigils:  Using word sigils is the practice of imbuing a word with magical intent.  In practice this might look like someone putting the word “Protected” on their bag or on a piece of paper to act as a ward.  Some people like word sigils because their lative language is often something they understand on a very deep level that has meaning to them, but the opposite might also be true where you might avoid it because the word you want has a meaning to you that doesn’t line up with your intent.  If this seems like an appealing option, but doesn’t quite feel right I’d suggest coming back to the idea in the Letter Method of crafting your own sigil.
Sentence Sigils: Similar to word sigils, sentence sigils are also the practice of using written words imbued with intent to do spellcraft.  This one tends to be the least recognizable as a sigil.  Your “Live Laugh Love” poster in your living room could technically, in this wider umbrella, be considered a sigil.
Self Crafted Sigils:  Self crafted sigils are the sigils we make ourselves.  This is usually what comes to mind when people think of sigils.  There are many ways to make them that are discussed below, but the essence of them is a design we craft and give intent to.  It’s not much different from a symbol that already exists, but when we craft them ourselves they can take on more specific and sometimes more complex intentions.
Techniques for crafting sigils
Assuming you want to make your own sigil instead of using a symbol that already exists, there are a few methods.  The most important part is charging them with your intent, but sigil crafting is an art form and giving it some personal touch or inherent meaning can take it up a notch.
The Letter Method: This method is done by taking a word that means what you want it to and deconstructing it into its base letters and reshaping it into a symbol.  How people go about this varies, some people remove vowels, some people cancel out repeat letters, some people do it differently every time depending on what they think feels right.
Simple Shapes:
This sigil making technique arguably has roots in the ideas of sacred geometry, but in practice generally revolves around combining basic shapes.  I am personally attached to the hexagon for things like warding for instance.  It is the strongest shape in nature and makes both snowflakes and beehives, but there are lots of reasons to use all the other shapes.  Circles are also often used for the belief that they protect and contain.
Circle Method:
This method is done using, well, circles and going from point to point within circles within circles.  Some people use natal charts for this or map it out using the zodiac signs they want to incorporate and drawing from one to another.  Could do it by having the ones you want to be predominant on the outside or the starting point and going around.  The options could go on from there.
Mandala:
“Mandala actually means ‘circle’ in Sanskrit. You can create mandalas for different things, to symbolize different intentions. As you draw and create, a mandala can reveal the inner workings of yourself and your soul. It can be used as a meditation and mindfulness tool, to create feelings of inner peace and calm, reduce stress and anxiety, and much more. It is a fun, creative and personal way to explore your inner self, express feelings, merge inner and outer worlds, and also use it as a manifestation tool. It can be inspirational and therapeutic.”  Mandalas are most easily made, in my experience, by making a small circular design and expanding outward by drawing designs around the small circle.  Continue this process of drawing around the smaller circles as it gets bigger until it’s the size you want.
Bindrunes:
Bind runes are done by combining nordic runes together.  This is done by stacking or putting smaller versions of the runes on a larger one.  This is done by running the runes together on a single middle line.  One way to do this is to draw a straight line and try to incorporate all the runes you want into that shape whether it being making the straight part of one into the whole line or tying the rune to it.  This might be easier explained visually and if you’re having trouble feel free to either look up an example, or ask!
The Freeform method:
This one is fairly open ended.  Whether a combination of multiple techniques listed above or done through a freehand drawing this one is definitely the most versatile of the bunch.  This also means it is the least structured and most intuition based technique.

witchcraft basics: the seven hermetic principles of the kybalion
The ancient Hermetic Philosophies heavily influenced the "New Thought Movement" during the late 1800's in North America, eventually leading to the publication of The Kybalion in 1908 by the Three Initiates. Originally, The Kybalion was released 'anonymously' by the Three Initiates, however it was later revealed that the author was none other than lawyer and renowned occultist, William Walker Atkinson.
"New Thought" was heavily influenced by the religion of spiritualism, and the burgeoning sciences of Psychology, and “New Physics.” Atkinson boiled it all down and codified Seven Hermetic Principles, which shifted the Hermetic focus to align easily within their modern world view of spirituality at the time.
Tumblr media
1. The Principle of Mentalism
“THE ALL is MIND; The Universe is Mental.”
2. The Principle of Correspondences
“As above, so below; so below, as above.”
3. The Principle of Vibration
“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
4. The Principle of Polarity
“Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
5. The Principle of Rhythm
“Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right, is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”
6. The Principle of Cause and Effect
“Every Case has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”
7. The Principle of Gender
“Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”

A guide to Protection
i’ve seen a lot of people (especially on tiktok) emphasizing the importance of protection in magick. i couldn’t agree more, so i thought of piling up a few of my favorite protection methods
Wards🪴🧿
you can use any object you’d like as a guardian to ward off negative energies. plant wards are my personal favorite because working with plant spirits plays a big role in my practice.
simply cleanse the plant buddy with your preferred method (avoid using white sage if you’re not indigenous)
write a petition paper addressing what your intent is (in this case, ask the plant to protect you)
burn the petition paper and add the ashes to the soil
you may add some crystals to boost up your intention
visualize a ray of protecting light coming out of the plant which circles around yourself/ your home
thank the plant 🌱
if the plant catches something nasty it’ll usually wither and start to lose it’s leaves
there are many options when it comes to warding; you can use a talisman, a crystal, a plushie, spell jars, etc
Sigils
i personally like this method because you can get as creative as possible. personalize your own sigil! this works really well, especially if you’re in the broom closet because they can be as lowkey as you want.
Protective handmade bracelet
remember the friendship bracelets people used to make in middle school? i usually chant the witches ladder and state my intent with every knot that i tie and end up with a pretty powerful protection spell.
Protection oil & protection candle
Tumblr media
i’m probably going to make a separate post with my protection oil recipe.
as for the candle, grab a white or black candle and carve protection sigils on it, or even runes or bind runes, dress it with the protection oil and corresponding herbs and meditate with it before lighting it. usually whenever i light my protection candle i’ll chant “candle candle burn so bright grant me your protection tonight”
Visualization
yep. that’ll do the trick. if you’re on the go or in an emergency, you’re most likely not gonna have the time necessary to grab everything and do a spell. close your eyes, ground and center yourself, and visualize a protective white light within you. or simply ask the universe/ deities/ spirit guides/ guardian angels/ god to surround you with protective light. make sure to thank them!
there are many ways to protect yourself from negative energies or spirits. these are just a few. i’d recommend reading the book “Protection & Reversal Magick” by Jason Miller

Tarot Tips - Confidence
Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to be right all the time. Sometimes a reading just doesn’t resonate, and that’s okay! It’s also okay to acknowledge this and try again. When reading for someone else, and they don’t resonate with the cards, if you casually brush it off, they likely will too!
Memorize the cards as best as you can. This is obviously going to take a lot of practice. But recognizing the cards right off the bat will make your reading go smoother and help you feel more confident.
Learn to read body language. Chances are, you’re probably already pretty good at this! Receiving positive body language when reading for others will help reassure you. And knowing when a reading doesn’t feel right for others will help you switch gears.
Ask the right kinds of questions.
Start small. Don’t jump in with a 12 card reading about your life’s destiny. Start with 1-3 cards about how your day or week is going to go. This applies when reading for others too! Answer their questions with a 3 card spread instead of 8. It’ll help you not get lost in the details.
Read for close friends. Sometimes you know too much about yourself, and that can be confusing. And reading for people you trust can remove some of the stress if you’re new to reading for others.
On that note, read for people that don’t know enough to correct you. If you read for people unfamiliar with tarot, and you get something wrong, they won’t know! Even if you don’t get anything wrong, knowing that you won’t be “exposed” will take away some of the anxiety.
Learn to read without a spread. If you find pre-made tarot spreads restrictive or just don’t want to remember a spread for every occasion, learn to rely on your intuition instead and do away with them!
Don’t be afraid to provide a disclaimer. If you’re still a baby diviner, give a quick “btw I’m still practicing” to, again, relieve some of that pressure to be perfect.
Get a reading from someone else! Seeing another diviner in practice can only ever be a learning experience. You also get a sense of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a reading that isn’t your own, and hopefully you’ll realize you’re much more focused on your own question than trying to spot your reader’s mistakes. (In case that’s something you were worried about.)
Do a lot of readings! Practice makes perfect! Having a line of successful and accurate readings under your belt (because readings do tend to resonate), will build trust in your own ability.

SHADOW WORK PROMPTS
Hello again, I decided to make and collect some prompts and store them here for others to see. I have them divided up into different topics, so I hope it makes it easier for you to find what you need.
How to Treat Yourself.
How can I be kinder to myself: mentally, physically, etc. In what ways am I subconsciously attacking myself?
What are some things you don't like about yourself, and why?
What are some personality traits / qualities you wish you had.
What are some things you love about yourself? What are some things you dislike? Why do you think you dislike these qualities?
List a few of your coping mechanisms that make you feel bad or guilty. Why do they make you feel that way? What are you using them to cope with? Is there a healthier mechanism you would be using?
When was the last time you forgave yourself?
What unhealthy attachments (things, people, feelings, habits) do you hold onto? What fears do you have around ending these attachments? What do you gain by ending these attachments?
What relationships and friendships do you have that are unhealthy? How would your life improve/change if you let them go?
Do you reward yourself when you accomplish something productive?
Do you completely accept and love yourself the way that you are?
Do you over think, and what causes this? What happens when you start to over think?
What's something you've REALLY wanted for a long time that feels out of reach to you? Why does it feel out of reach? Is it unrealistic or do you feel like you don't deserve it?
What animal(s) do you associate yourself with? What traits, positive and negative, do you associate with this animal?
Trauma & Reactions.
When was a time in your life where you opened up and felt rejected?
When was the last time you forgave yourself?
What negative emotions do you avoid? Why?
What were you like as a child?
What is the worst way someone could describe you?
What is your definition of failure? What's something you have previously failed at and how did it make you feel? How can you deal with failure in a healthy way?
How do you lie to yourself everyday? Why are you doing this and what am you trying to avoid?
How have you internalized your parents' judgement? How do you free yourself from it?
What is something you hate about your body? See if it's related to your trauma or the world around you, and why you hate it.
What are your triggers and why? What events happened to cause that trigger? Do you have any specific triggers, like a song, a movie/tv show, etc?
Did you have a good childhood? Why or why not?
What are some intrusive thoughts you've had lately? What triggered these thoughts, what do you think the root cause is?
Think of a time that you were hurt and felt you deserved it. What made you feel like that? Was it justified?
When reflecting about your childhood, what makes you extremely angry or sad to this day?
Did your parents provide you with everything you needed?
Emotions & Self reflecting.
What emotion do you try to avoid? What makes you so afraid to feel it?
What negative emotions are you the most comfortable feeling? How often and why do these emotions show up?
What emotions do you rarely express Infront of others? Why are you hiding these emotions? What would happen if you started expressing these emotions more?
Are you okay with the fact that not everyone will like you? Why or why not, and how does this make you feel?
Which behavior that you know is wrong and has negative effects do you repeat over and over again? Why do you do this?
How long do you spend reflecting on failures and mistakes? Do you have difficulties coming to terms with them?
Are you self deprecating, or self destructive? When, how, and why did this begin?
What are some of your toxic traits? When do they tend to show themselves?
Name 5-10 negative beliefs you have about yourself. Where do they come from? Do they have validity? Why or why not?
What are some things you consider "cringy"? Why do you think that? Do you associate those with someone? If it's yourself, what can you do to be nicer to your child self?
Think about someone you hate for "no reason." What are some things about them that bother you? Do these things remind you of yourself, or someone who hurt you?
What are some things you blame yourself for? Is it really fair to blame yourself for this, or were there other factors involved?
What is your greatest experience with confrontation? Do you find it more difficult than it should be or do you feel like you handle confrontation in a healthy way?
When are you the most critical of yourself? Explain what your self-talk sounds like.
What do you currently envy in someone's life, and why?

Today’s What the fuck is this:
Astral projection.
This rant includes my opinions alone. Some of which aren’t posted anywhere else. Take what you believe in and leave what you don’t ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
What is Astral Projection? If you don’t know, then you are in the perfect place! This practice involves untethering the soul from the body. Once detached you are on the astral plane! Sounds simple! And for some people, yes. It is. But, for most, it’s not. At least not the first time!! But don’t let this dishearten you. It’s a skill that is unclosed, easy to find information on, and doesn’t require to much hard work. Just patience, an open mind, and a firm grasp on what you are doing!
Do I need anything to start Astral Projecting? It’s probably much more simple then you think. There is no special ritual, crystal, herb, or chant you need to do. You don’t need to go out and buy $100’s in astral crystals. The only thing you have to do is know how to do it. If you don’t know how to travel to the astral, you either won’t get there and be disheartened, or you will get there and not understand what’s going on. You could even get trapped in the astral.
Precautions: Are there really any rules? Technically, no. But precautions? Absolutely. I am going to list them off for you.
1. Go with intention. Know what you are going there for. It helps. If you set a goal you won’t get distracted along the way and it is much more likely to happen.
2. DONT talk to people who you don’t feel good about. I believe your “gut feeling” is much more prominent and correct than when you are tethered to your body.
3. Remember, bad entity’s can reside in the astral. Make sure not to pick them up on the way back to your body.
What can i do in the astral? Your mind is literally the limit. You can fly, you can meet people, you can control what you look like. But, you cannot control malicious spirits. be careful of them.
I will not go into detail on how to get to the astral. There are many sources on how to get there that will explain it better then me. If you want to know from me specifically, you can dm me here on tumblr or my number (which is in my bio)
As always, Blessed be and stay safe ❤️

Dark Moon
The dark moon phase is one that is seldom talked about and isn't technically a complete phase of the lunar cycle. It is the time between the waning moon and the new moon where the moon is visible, but (you guessed it!) dark.
Cast spells for:
Removing entities from house or property
Banishing illness
Divination
Meditation and psychic visions
Conquering anger
Bringing about justice
