#9 - Amberclaw
“Amberclaw is a long-legged ginger tom”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: Not too much thought behind this one - the ‘claw’ bit made me think of darker socks for this design, and since he’s described as just a ginger tom I thought I’d keep the design simple.
Sorry for inactivity! School has been keeping me on my toes.

#8 - Alderheart
“Alderheart is a short-furred, dark ginger tom with a white tipped tail and amber eyes.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medicine Cat Herb: The red feather
Thoughts Behind Design: A nod towards Bramblestar by making his face braoder, but it’s also more rounded to give him a soft look. Alder is red, so he’s more of a dark reddish-brown than ginger, the white lower jaw is a nod to Squirrelflight. Rings on his face are hints towards the rings you see in trees when you cut them.
Credit for the medicine cat herb idea goes to @gekkozilla!

#7 - Alder
“Alder is a lithe, splotchy, grey, brown and white she-cat with short, fluffy fur.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: Since alder bark is red, I added some red-brown splotches as a nod to it, and there’s an alder leaf on her chest too.

#6 Adderpaw
“Adderpaw is a tom with an unknown description.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: A lot of freedom again, I wanted to continue the dusty brown/ brown looks of the cats with the Adder- prefix, with the exception of Adderkit who was named that after dying. Adderpaw’s face markings form a snake head and a stripe resembling the serpent’s body continues along his spine.

#5 Adderkit
“Adderkit is a tom with an unknown description”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: Since he has no description I had a lot of freedom with his design as well. The Wiki said that he got his name after being bitten by a snake, so I thought making him have the same patterns as one wouldn’t quite fit. That being said, he does have a snake pattern on his tail as a tiny nod to his namesake.

#4 Adderfang
“Adderfang is a mottled, dark brown tabby tom with yellow eyes. He has massive shoulders and a broad head.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: Not too many really - as he’s described as “mottled” I gave him patches of a light brown, and the stripe design was influenced by actual adder patterns. Poking fangs as a little nod to his namesake and actual warrior name.

#3 - Acorntail
“Acorntail is a tom with an unknown description.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: Wanted to keep the brown theme going for all the cats with the prefic Acorn-, hence his colouring. Since the boy has no actual description I made him have the broken tabby stripes a lot of people draw Brindleface with, and a bobtail since his name is Acorntail afterall.

#2 - Acornpaw
“Acornpaw is a light brown tom.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts Behind Design: The fact that he is only described as a “light brown tom” gave me a lot of freedom, so I settled on a ticked tabby with a thick coat, obviously light brown. At first I considered having him be an abyssinian, but I scrapped that idea.

#1 - Acorn Fur
“Acorn Fur is a short, thick-furred dark chestnut-brown she-cat with bright amber eyes and a smooth, straight muzzle.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Med Cat Herb: Oak Leaves - prevents infections
Thoughts Behind Design: Made her more red than standard chestnut-brown, and the “smooth, straight muzzle” made me see her as an oriental, so she’s an oriental now. Oak leaves were chosen mostly due to the fact acorns come from oaks.
Credit for the idea that medicine cats have specific herbs goes to @gekkozilla - I think it’s a really sweet idea, honestly.
