Okay, so major update regarding the cleaning up of my mods folder, I now have managed to clear my CAS CC folder from 62.4 GB to 26.3 GB and this is huge considering all of the cc shopping that I have done over the last year or so. I still have to tackle the build & buy folder which is around 35 GB or something like that but generally speaking this is a huge win for me I really loved decluttering and I’ve genuinely just been doing that for the last, probably, week and a half or something like that, so yeah I will probably play the reward event first because I missed I think two weeks so I’m gonna play those and try to finish them and then maybe I will look into the build & buy folder. I really wanna clear it up before the end of the year, so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Okay so ik I literally disappeared for a month, but I’ve started a different save that was not heavy on the storyline aspect (as I got burnt out from the Sterlings 😃) and the save just happened to be for the rewards event since my other save kept having weird glitches that weren’t explainable, so I wanted to start fresh.

Either way I’ve been playing offline for the last few days which is very unlike me, I usually patch update and play mod/cc free for a while till majority of my fav mods get updated/cleared.

What I ended up doing in Oct is remove over 40+ mods, and decided to finally tackle the task that I’ve dreaded for the last few months - cc cleanup.

I have been on a cc shopping spree for months on end I legit wanted everything and I quickly went from 40gb and under of cc (I managed to always keep it at this number or below for YEARS), to going over 100gb+ which is insane. So I knew I needed to dial back before my pc starts cussing me. I’m doing my cas cc cleanup in 4 batches, I started before yesterday and I’m in batch 2 now. I plan to drop it to at least 50gb, and see if I can lower it any more than that. But I want to finish the cleanup before the new expansion comes out.

I also will eventually tackle the build and buy stuff 😃 idk when tho depending on how motivated I am after the cas cleanup.

Refining The Sterling Family’s story deets, I still haven’t created additional characters since my brain got foggy and I needed to see all this info written down so I can see it all. I’ll be creating a family tree once I sort the extended family and side characters on The Sims Tree (I think that’s what it’s called, haven’t seen the actual website YET). But so far so good, I think I’ll probably get some rest now, I haven’t done this much thinking for my characters since the launch of the sims 4, as exhausting as it is, it feels so good to be very intentional with the storylines.

Oof it’s been a while since I have posted something here..

so here is a lil simsie update :D

Honestly I’ve been in a slump for awhile, and haven’t been playing the game much either (besides downloading/reblogging cc on my cc finds blog).

I try to log into the game and ACTUALLY play but I either create sims and never play with them, or create new sims halfway. I also lowkey abandoned my Benson Legacy, which kind of makes me feel guilty but I’m mentally stuck in the storyline and have been for months.

However, GOOD NEWS, I have been creating a family-ish the last 2 days and I actually feel excited to play their story. Their story is still not written as I’m creating and adjusting, but I don’t feel bored from them thus far lol.

I also plan to restrict myself to play the last 3 expansions (Horse Ranch, For Rent, Lovestruck) as I feel like I have not played much with them.

I honestly also plan to kind of restrict myself from downloading more mods for a while (could be a lie tho since so many of you guys are so talented and I be itching to have your mods 😭- I have 96GB worth of CC & Mods, if msimmer at the beginning of this year knew this is where we are at she would scream in shock)

I also haven’t learned to create more cc which is a bit disappointing but I have to constantly remind myself that it’s okay and I’m burnt out from life post uni and it’s okay to rest and do nothing - rest isn’t a reward but a necessity :) so I guess this is also a message to anyone who feels this way.

Anyway, I hope I can be a bit more active here, I think I’ll be sharing my new legacy (The Sterling Family) on here and see how that goes.

I plan to finish this new household hopefully in the next week (as I’m currently occupied with extra learning by programs post graduating)

now tell me why one of my sims husbands (Renee is the sim, her husband is Valentin) died when she was in her third trimester……….😭😭

he died of….anger… he never had anger issues EVER (Renee was actually the one with anger issues lmfao)

I had just moved them out and I was so happy that her and her twin sister were pregnant again (Renee’s pregnancy was unplanned) but the timings flipped this time around (her sister -Amelia- found out she was pregnant before her -Renee-)

I felt so bad Renee had a very tough life when it came to relationships and Valentin was the perfect person and she chose to commit to him (she loved him DOWN) 😔😔

I legit got notified that he died while Amelia and her husband were at the hospital as she was giving birth😭😭 never switched households so quickly.

This was their third child, she has Maeve (teen), Jamie (toddler) and now the third baby.

Anyway kinda paused the gameplay for a while still bitter about that.

How did I go from keeping my mods folder at 10-15GB max (a few months ago) to now hitting 47GB omg 🥲🥲🥲

Wait I just remembered that I’ve been wanting to redo my townie makeovers 🫣

well 🧍🏻‍♀️I try to clear my screenshots folder every few months (especially during frequent playing sessions)

so I create a folder on my other drive (d drive), rename the folder with the dates of the earliest screenshot till the most recent one that’ll I’ll be moving over

Zip this folder (to try and reduce its size especially if it’s a lot of screenies) and I upload it to my Google drive + back it up on an external hard disk.

Every few months I delete the older/already backed up screenshot folders to empty space on my d drive. I like to keep my pc organised so I do cleanups of this sort more frequently and thus I don’t worry about deleting something since it immediately gets backed up once it’s zipped and out of the documents folder 🤓

if you ask me what thing i'm most proud of relating to the sims 4 i will tell you it is my excel mod sheet and my mods folder. The excel sheet is such a life saver to keep track of my 100+ mods in game. I have had that sheet for years and it has helped me tremendously don’t know what i'd do without it. ON TOP OF THAT my mods folder? organised to the T and im so glad that simmers are becoming more aware that having an organised mods folder will make patch days much easier to deal with.
