there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.

if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.

this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.

of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?

My spider-hero character!

ABOUT: Ryan O'Brian, alias Phantom-Spider, is a punk linguistic anthropology student from Florida who doubles as a spider-hero and Melinoë's attendant.

Ryan goes by Thon/Thonself pronouns. Thon is also bisexual and and has a hormonal imbalance that causes thon to appear androgynous.

Ryan has the mutant ability to speak to and summon spiders and uses this, as well as a shield and martial arts, in battle. Thon also has sticky hands and feet and increased strength and agility as part of the mutation and uses that and parkour to get around. Thon shield has an image of Cerberus as thon is underworld themed.

Ryan has a bound duty to Melinoë because of thon inherited ability to see and communicate with ghosts, and was assigned the job of bringing offerings to the dead and easing the transition between life and the afterlife. Because of thon work with the dead and having lost a brother named Alex, thon has strong empathy towards loss and refuses to kill or seriously injure.

Ryan is a protector of the judged and underprivileged and holds the strong belief that it is necessary to fight back against the discriminating system.

Ryan's day job is English tutoring and is in college to become a linguistic anthropologist.

Ryan also has a pet gold-kneed tarantula called Klaus, and the spider thon based the superhero costume on is a gold-kneed tarantula.

Phantom-Spider is sometimes called Spooky-Spods and Spidey-Spook as a joke/term of endearment.

Ryan also has an interest in cryptids, which thon shared with thon brother, so Ryan has decorated thon vest with multiple cryptid designs.

Ryan also has tourette's syndrome and occasionally uses signs or AAC to communicate when thon can't speak. Thon also has depression with psychotic features and is medicated for it, and is also hypermobile due to Joint Hypermobility Syndrome.

Ryan was born in 2020, and resides in the year 2043. Thon spent the first few years of life in quarantine and had trouble making friends even after. Instead of human friends, thon became friends with the ghosts who resided in thon childhood home and with the spiders in the garage.

In the year 2030, AI largely overtook much of the music and art scene, and in 2043 artists and alternative counterculture is trying to take it back.

Just One Week

And I'm ready to go,

And I'm rearing up for a fight

And it's time for the show,

And on comes the spotlight

Makes me blind to the audience,

So they can see

But I'm struggling

They can see the surface,

Attention,

But it's the surface tension,

That's keeping me drowning in this wave of retention,

Of facts from my past,

The regret is real

But what they see is an illusion,

Magic I won't reveal

And everything is crazy,

And all the facts are wrong,

Some people call me lazy,

But this prolonged ache and the pain in my joints and the zaps in my brain

They're causing me to vomit out words again

Day 2

And I'm already tired,

Exhausted,

But somehow still so wired

Got 11 hours last night,

But my body's deceased

I wish I were a ghost with no corpse,

So it couldn't do this to me,

I'm going to Therapy,

My PT said I should take up swimming more because it is good resistance training while also supporting your joints. Has anyone tried this? I was gonna try swimming more next summer.
