Hi, I'm here! I've been gone for about two months but that's mainly been because of multiple distractions pulling me from FFXIV which in turn took me away from developing Abigail! However, with time, I was called back. I've had my return from brief respite in the back of my head for a couple of days now, but I've never been able to find a moment to sit down and really think about what I wanted my return post to be about. All I know is that I didn't want it to be without any character introspection! Thankfully, my recent music binge plus a conversation with a friend made me realize that... Abigail is a bard! Who in the real world would she idolize or who would she credit as her favorite artist?

The answer to that question is Aurora Aksnes, better known by her stage-name as AURORA. Some of her big hits are Cure For Me and Runaway. The motif of most of her music is one that I think Abigail would absolutely love (which in turn I know I would love), which is about how to accept yourself for who you are.

The reason why I picked AURORA and her self-love motif was because Abigail can have a tendency toward being self-critical, it's a part of her personality that she can't completely fix. Hearing the soothing messages of songs like The River and Exist For Love are paramount to Abigail's happiness and acceptance of who she is and that it's okay to not be okay.

If there was any one song to pick to be an anthem for Abby it would be The River. The specific message in this song is to not hold in your feelings, to let them out and be as emotional as you need to be:

"Don't forget who you are even though you're in need Like a bird in the night, your emotions deserved to be freed You can cry Drinking your eyes Do you miss the sadness when it's gone? And you let the river run wild"

When analyzing her personality, I immediately saw Abby as an empath; she is very reliant on her own emotions as well as aware of the emotions of others. Because of that trait and her aforementioned self-critical nature, when she has a cloud of despair, it can typically be difficult to get rid of, so this song helps affirm her and be as emotional as she needs to be.

I was debating on whether or not I should post as soon as I was tagged, but I was able to stick it out until today's Munday! Thanks for the tag @paintedscales, was my first one and made me happy to feel included!

Last Song I Listened To: teenage dream by Olivia Rodrigo was the last song I was listening to before I got to work today. I used to disregard her and not really care for her music, but over time I've really fallen in love with her music!

Favorite Color: My favorite color is orange, specifically safety orange. The shades of orange that are too bright or too red or too yellow aren't my kind of oranges.

Last Movie/TV Show Watched: I've been all over the place with shows lately, but the most recent show I've watched is Chicago Fire. The TikTok brainworm gave me Chicago Fire clips and I decided I'd give the show a shot! Safe to say, it's an amazing production with just the right amount of emotional stimulation.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I really enjoy sweets and savory foods are nice and all, but at the end of the day, I'm a spice girl (not to be confused with Spice Girl, capitalization matters!). I vividly remember getting a bag of ghost pepper chips in my stocking one Christmas and that was a helluva joyride!

Relationship Status: I'm single right now, have been for about a year and three months, but it's been an amazing year and three months since that relationship was very abusive.

Last Google Search: The last thing I googled (besides "what classifies as a savory food") was "fortnite lego skins". I was trying to see if there was a complete collection of all of the LEGO skins that are going to be added into Fortnite so I could see if any of my favorite skins were going to be LEGO-fied (sadly, I didn't see any that I recognized).

Current Obsession: I would say Star Wars, but honestly, I'm always obsessed with Star Wars, so I don't think it qualifies as "current". If I were to have a "current" obsession, it would probably be Marvel. I've recently gotten really engaged in Marvel Snap and am really finding myself becoming attached to certain characters I didn't really think I'd find myself attached too, so much so that I subscribed to Marvel Unlimited just to read their comics!

Not at all surprised, but I got an Oath of the Ancients Paladin! I tried to get the descriptions in a single screenshot, but that didn't work, so I went ahead and copied the descriptions below!

Paladin:

Thought I'd start my first OC post with a dive into personality and psychology! I scrambled around and found a couple ways I could describe and explore Abigail's personality.

First off is MBTI (my personal favorite)! Abby, I think, is an Adventurer, or an ISFP (Introverted, Observant, Feeling, Prospecting). She tends to be reserved, but as soon as she is able to express her self perfectly, she opens up like a book to her peers!

Next I want to talk about the Enneagram! Abby's enneagram would probably end up being a Two (The Helper), with Three (The Achiever) as her wing, meaning she is mainly a Two but exhibits Three behaviors as well. Friendly but self-critical, the 2w3 enneagram makes Abby value altruism, kindness, and compassion the most, fitting her out-going nature. The last personality I want to dote on is the DiSC. Abby falls under the iS style, which is a style that agrees with Abby's sociability and empathy. This style is perfect because Abby is definitely the kind of soul that fears resentment and dwells on broken relationships despite an upbeat nature.

If there's a personality that I didn't include that you think I should take a look at, let me know! I really enjoy delving into psychology and would love to add more to her repertoire!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Was trying to think of some shows that I come back to every now and then. Didn't want to rely too heavily on anime, though some other anime mentions I have are Angel Beats, Castlevania, Trigun Stampede, Ouran High School Host Club (I have a bias :y), The Apothecary Diaries (so far, being quite true to the manga!), Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, and Cowboy Bebop.

I waffled on some other options. I eventually removed Queer Eye in lieu of something else that influences me artistically and in my writing. Though I like watching Queer Eye mostly because I like coming away with some things to think about for my own self-care and even my identity. Besides that, I like the home glow-ups. :') That said, Queer Eye is not necessarily something I see myself coming back to rewatch on a whim.

Hello! I'm a trans/queer FFXIV player that finally bit the bullet and made a tumblr account for my WoL OC. My pronouns are any/all and most people call me Sis, Abby, or Abigail, but honestly, I'm okay if you refer to me some other way!

I made this as a medium for exploring and exercising my creative side, but I may at times just be a calm lurker reblogging and talking about non-FFXIV stuff. If you ever want to visit me in-game, you can find me on Primal (Excalibur) under the name Sister Abigail (yes, for those who recognize the name, it is in fact a wrestling reference).

I plan over time to provide more information about Abby, but if you want to know more, ask any questions you want and I'll do my best to answer them!

Abby is a young Midlander that found a life with the Archers' Guild housed in Gridania. Having lived in the Twelveswood city-state, Abby gained a fascination with the elements, eventually learning how to infuse those elements into her own artistry with her bow.
