Buck was waiting for the day that Eddie came clean about being a werewolf. The entire 118 pack had scented it on him during his first day but he hadn’t brought it up or taken Bobby up on his offer to join them for their full moon night in the mountains. As it turns out, Christopher was going to force his father’s hand because in the middle of Buck’s living room was a half-transformed and terrified child.
Or: The one where Buck takes care of the Diaz boys, especially when Christopher turns out to be a werewolf too.
Buck and the Diaz boys drive up to the cabin in the mountain, Bobby gives Eddie a crash course in pack dynamics, and Eddie realizes that his wolf might be onto something.
a/n: In canon, Eddie goes to war because Shannon gets pregnant with Chris. We're adjusting that juuuuuust a little so that Eddie's already a werewolf when Christopher is conceived.
Luckily Christopher’s tail had disappeared in his sleep. Buck had made pancakes for breakfast and arranged a pick up time for the Diaz boys for later in the day to drive up to the mountains. Bobby had been more than happy to have them join the moon night finally but was curious as well to how Eddie had been surviving thus far as a lone wolf.
Buck hadn’t pressed the issue, he had meant to, don’t get him wrong, but there’s only so much brain function a person has when they’re trying not to get a boner while cuddling their best friend. Especially when he could smell arousal on said best friend. Buck tried not to think too much into that. This was Eddie, perfectly straight, Eddie.
Buck spent his Diaz-less time watching a documentary to talk about with Christopher later and cleaning up the loft, finding himself getting more and more excited as the time passed. When he finally got to the Diaz house later, Christopher was buzzing with excitement on the porch, rushing towards the Jeep before Buck had even parked.
“Hey, Superman!” Buck hopped out, giving Chris a tight hug, “Do you want help getting in?” He shook his head, grinning from ear to ear,
“I got it!” In a complete 180 from his son, Eddie was still on the porch with the bags on his shoulders, anxiety rolling off of him. “Dad, come on!”
“I’m coming, mijo,” Eddie said but didn’t move, not until Buck was a step away, and even then it was just to rest his head on Buck’s shoulder. “You’ve got my back?”
“I’ve got you back,” Buck soothed, bringing Eddie in for a hug. Eddie had always been an anxious guy but normally he managed to keep in, exuding a cool confidence, so seeing Eddie like this pulled at Buck’s heart strings. But being the one to comfort Eddie? It made his wolf howl in excitement, chanting a certain m word that it shouldn’t be. “Come on, I want you to have enough time to check the perimeter before everyone gets there, Bobby says it calms the alpha instincts.”
“Alpha?” Eddie asked, quirking his head to the side. Right. Mr. Clueless. “If omegas are supposed to be submissive,” God did Buck hate himself for using that word last night. The look on Eddie’s face and the scent he put out afterwards were pure torture. “Then does that mean alphas are supposed to be dominant?” It was a genuine question. A good question, one that made sense. So why was Buck’s face burning with a blush like a schoolgirl?
“Well, I mean, uh-” Buck fumbled for an explanation that didn’t lean into this pseudo-sexual theme they had going on. Then he saw the slight twitch at the corner of Eddie’s lips. Anyone else probably would have missed it or dismissed it but Buck knew better. That bastard was teasing him. “Fuck you, get in the car.” Eddie laughed, passing Buck on his way to the Jeep. Buck stood on the porch for an extra second to collect himself.
In human form, Buck had control over his emotions. Kinda. But as a wolf, all of that control would fade away and he’d be left with just his base instincts. Normally that meant play fighting with Maddie and Chim, hunting down rabbits and squirrels for a snack, and keeping an eye on the pups. He crossed his fingers and hoped that the universe would be on his side for once and leave his attraction for his best friend to the human half of Buck and not let it carry over to his wolf half. Then…well…that could get embarrassing for a lot of reasons.
“Buck, come on!” Christopher honked the horn, making Buck jump. He turned around to find both of his Diaz boys grinning. Yeah. He was screwed.
-
The drive to the mountains was a long one but they made good time. Christopher had been asking rapid-fire questions about what it was like to be a wolf and Eddie seemed to be listening just as intently as Buck answered the questions. Maddie had been the one to show Buck the ropes and there was a sense of pride running through Buck that he was able to do the same for Christopher, for his pu- Nope. Nope. Nope. Don’t think like that. If Buck started thinking of Christopher as his p word and Eddie as his m word in human form, he didn’t stand a chance in wolf form.
Apparently he didn’t stand a chance in human form either because as the Jeep started to climb up the mountain towards the pack’s cabin, both of the Diaz boys fell quickly asleep. And in his sleep, Eddie must have felt the need to rest his hand on Buck’s thigh, as if Buck was somehow going to run off on him while driving. Eddie’s hand was large and warm, sending waves of desire through him. Buck was lucky that the boys were asleep and hopefully he’d continue to be lucky and Eddie wouldn’t know what that scent was when he woke up. Buck was counting on Eddie’s ignorance to save him from dying of embarrassment.
When they reached the cabin, Buck was happy to see that they weren’t the first ones to arrive. He needed a distraction, someone to take his mind off of wanting to crawl into Eddie’s lap and take a nap along with him.
“We here?” Eddie’s voice was gravelly from sleep and Buck nearly started crying because how, how can he act normal when everything his best friend does is hot? Eddie doesn’t take mercy on Buck and move his hand either, nope, instead he squeezed Buck’s thigh with a sleepy smile.
“Uh, yeah, yep, we’re here.” Here was a large cabin in a remote clearing, surrounded by tall trees, perfect to stay hidden from prying eyes. Athena and Michael had bought the land when they were married, both for time away and for full moons, and Michael had extended the moon night invitation to the whole pack once Bobby and Athena got married. “Come on, let’s get inside and figure out where Bobby put everyone.”
They each had rooms, mostly to rest in before and after the moon. As far as he knew, all of the rooms were taken, but he was sure that Bobby wouldn’t have put Eddie on the couch so he must have figured out something. Buck had…made a few calls earlier in the day to make sure of that.
“You’re here!” Bobby called from the porch, wearing sweats, an LAFD shirt, and drinking a cup of coffee, “Glad you finally decided to join us, Eddie.”
“Happy to be here, Cap. Chris, why don’t you go find the boys?” Buck watched with a fond smile as Christopher rubbed the sleep from his eyes and grabbed his canes. If he needed help, Chris would ask, but Buck just wanted to watch. Maddie had said it was always the little things she missed about Buck growing up and he wanted to commit all of the little things to memory.
“They’re playing video games in the living room,” Bobby volunteered with a smile. “Go have some fun, kid.” Buck wanted to escape with Christopher, distance himself from Eddie, and from Bobby who was looking at him like he knew something Buck didn’t. “Buck, why don’t you take Chris’ bag to the bunk room and the rest to your room?” His room. Yeah, that made sense. Eddie could come grab his bags when he was done talking to Bobby.
Buck took a chance and squeezed Eddie’s hand, which was still on his thigh. Eddie’s brows pinched together for a second, something he did when he either didn’t understand something or wasn’t a fan of something. Buck squeezed his hand again, resisting the urge to bring Eddie’s knuckles to his lips. This was going to be a long two days.
-
Something in Eddie’s chest hurt watching Buck walk away. If he was being honest, ever since meeting Buck, it never felt right when they were separated, but it always got worse around the full moon and he never understood why. Maybe Bobby would know? They already got made fun of for being codependent and that would really seal the deal.
“So,” Bobby draped an arm over Eddie’s shoulders, walking him towards the edge of the clearing. Right, Buck had mentioned doing a perimeter sweep. Did that mean Bobby was an alpha like Eddie was? At least, Eddie was assuming he was an alpha based on what Buck had said. “Buck told me you didn’t know that we were all wolves?”
“Was I supposed to know?” He felt out of his depth and now that Buck wasn’t in sight, the anxiety he had been feeling that morning was back. “Honestly, Bobby, I’ve just been playing this whole thing by ear since the first time I grew a tail in the desert.” It had been his first deployment, he had been attacked during a night raid and later that month, boom, he turned into a werewolf.
One of the guys in his company knew enough to help him get through his deployment, trading with the locals to get enough silver to keep the creature he became under control. What he hadn’t known was that being a werewolf meant that Christopher had a chance of becoming one as well. If  Shannon was still alive, she’d probably kill him.
“Ah, so you were bitten,” Bobby sighed, “That makes a lot of sense. Then no, I guess you shouldn’t have known.” That made him feel a little better. “Normally pups are taught how to interpret what they’re smelling and sensing, how to play nicely as wolves, and how to take care of themselves and I’m sorry you didn’t have that chance.”
“Buck’s been helping,” Eddie responded automatically, giving credit where credit was due because he’d be damned if Buck didn’t get it. Buck gave and gave and gave, always, without even thinking about it. It was one of the many things that Eddie loved about Buck. “He’s been so good about this whole thing.”
“That sounds about right, I’m glad. He must’ve called me thirty times this morning to make sure everything would be set up for you and Christopher.” That overwhelming fondness he felt whenever Buck did something thoughtful swelled in his chest. If anyone else had done that, Eddie knew he would feel annoyed, smothered, or like they didn’t trust him to take care of his son but he knew Buck did it with nothing but care and compassion. “How do you feel? Is the walk helping?”
It was helping. There was an itch in his brain being scratched by being able to designate his “territory,” just like Buck said there would be. Eddie wondered just how much of his “weird feelings” and intrusive thoughts could be explained away now that the rest of the team was helping him through things.
“It’s helping,” Eddie sighed. “I don’t suppose there’s a Werewolves for Dummies book lying around that cabin somewhere, is there?” Bobby laughed, squeezing Eddie’s shoulder as they walked.
“Afraid not but Buck’s essentially a walking Wikipedia page,” Eddie laughed alongside him. “But the rest of us can answer questions too.” Well. If he was going to be embarrassed about his questions, it might as well be with the closest thing he had to a supportive father figure.
“I, um, don’t have any questions right now. But if you think there’s things I should know-” Eddie gestured vaguely with his hands. Chicken shit. What was he supposed to do? Ask why his best friend constantly smelled delicious? Yeah, maybe he’d keep that question to himself for now. Bobby gave him an appraising look, like he knew Eddie was hiding something from him. Which, he probably did.
“Pack dynamics is probably the best place to start. It’s honestly not that different from our structure at the firehouse, there I’m the captain, here I’m the leader or alpha.” Eddie nodded along as they walked, “Beta wolves are typically protectors within a pack and omegas can be caregivers, there’s a lot of flexibility but there’s also plenty of packs that require a strict hierarchy.”
“Sounds like the military, putting people into boxes,” Bobby squeezed his shoulder. Eddie felt a little tug in his mind, telling him to look to his right and when he did the pricking of anxiety he had been feeling since getting out of the Jeep was gone. Because standing on the front porch, chatting with his sister, was Buck. “Tell me more,” Eddie asked, keeping his eyes on Buck. “Please.”
“Packs are wolves, their mates, and their pups, basically one big, extended family.” Bobby’s voice had the I’m up to something tinge to it he got sometimes when he was teasing at the firehouse. “Wolves have a habit of mating for life and from what I’ve heard from other turned wolves, it feels different than the normal kind of love humans have. The best I can figure, it’s that not only are you falling in love with your human emotions, but forming an instinctual bond as wolves.” Buck. The internal monologue that he tended to ignore, the one that liked to tell him to eat raw meat and lick people on the mouth to greet them, was chanting his name as if he had been given permission to speak freely for once.
“So, Athena’s your mate?” Eddie asked the obvious question, trying to distract himself. Bobby’s smile was infectious, showing just how much he loved his wife.
“She is, all of the wolves in the pack are mated besides the kids and Buck.” Buck. Who jumped into relationships head first, always begging people to love him. Eddie knew it must bother him on some level that he was the only one without a mate. But there was part of Eddie, his wolf he was realizing, that rumbled happily at the news. “Hope you don’t mind sharing a bed with Buck while you’re up here, it was either that or sleeping on the bunk beds with the kids.”
“No, um, that’s not a problem,” Eddie cleared his throat, trying not to sound too excited about sharing a bed with Buck. Be cool. Be cool. “So, what’s the plan? We all just hang out here until the full moon tomorrow?”
“That’s the plan,” Bobby confirmed, steering him back towards the porch. “We don’t always come up early like this but it’s nice to get away from the city for a few days.”
Eddie looked up at the sky, feeling Buck’s eyes on him, giving him a weighted sense of security as he let his mind go silent. Two days away from normal life. Learning what it meant to be a wolf. Spending time with the 118, who were good as family, his son, who was growing up way too fast, and his Buck. His Buck.

“S-stay away! Don’t come near me, I could hurt you!” The full moon wasn’t for another two days but partial transformations like this were normal for kids approaching their first full moon. Harry had scared the heck out of Athena, tearing up her couch mid-video game; a story Athena loved to tell almost as much as Harry hated it.
“I know you can, buddy, but that’s why you’re going to take a couple of deep breaths for me. Can you do that?” Christopher’s shoulders shook as he tried to take a breath, dark eyes filled with tears, “You’ve got this, Superman.” Buck took a step forward, exuding calming, omega pheromones. It hurt his heart, the acrid scent of Christopher’s fear filing the air. Had Eddie not warned him that this was something that could happen? Buck frowned, Eddie was a good dad, there’s no way that he would intentionally hide something like this from Chris. Maybe it hadn’t been a problem with him and his sisters so Eddie hadn’t thought about it. That was more likely.
“I don’t wanna hur-hurt you.” Black fur was growing in patches and he had a tail, which was tucked between his legs. Buck took another step forward, watching the tenseness of Christopher’s posture relax more the closer he got, “Buck.” Christopher’s growing teeth were making it hard for him to properly pronounce anything and it was adorable.
“You’re not going to hurt me, Chris, you know why? Because I’m a wolf too, okay?”
“You are?” Christopher sniffled, letting down his guard long enough for Buck to close the distance between them and pull him into a hug.
“A big, white wolf, I even keep my birthmark. Cool, right?” Chris nodded, taking a deep breath.
“You smell good,” Buck chuckled, kissing his curls. Eddie was going to be excited when he found out Christopher had grown into his wolf, after he got done being overwhelmed probably. “So, I’m a wolf?” Right. Christopher didn’t know what was going on, just that he suddenly had fur, a tail, and claws.
“That’s right, Superman. You know what werewolves are, right?” Christopher nodded, “Just like that. We turn into wolves on the full moon, when we’re wolves we act a lot like dogs, and even when we’re not wolves our senses tend to be a bit stronger. Like smelling and hearing things, especially the closer we get to the full moon.”
“So, we definitely don’t want to eat dad’s cooking near the full moon,” Christopher’s face pinched together in disgust. Buck bit back a laugh,
“Yeah, that’s probably for the best. Don’t worry, Bobby cooks when we all get together for the full moon.” Christopher perked up like a puppy, looking adorable as his head cocked to the side.
“Bobby’s a werewolf too?” Buck tried not to wince as Christopher’s claws pierced the sofa cushions. At least he was doing less damage than Harry had. “What about Hen?”
“Werewolf and werewolf,” Buck confirmed. “So are Chimney, Maddie, Athena, and the other kids.” Christopher blinked a few times in a row, processing the information. Buck waited with baited breath for Christopher’s reaction to these life-changing revelations. He was either going to accept it with childlike wonder or he was going to have an absolute freakout. Buck was hoping for one outcome but he was prepared for both, there was a container of cookie dough ice cream in his freezer for situations like this.
“Wow,” Christopher grinned, showing off a mouthful of slowly sharpening teeth that garbled his speech. Oh thank god.
“Is something wrong?” Buck rolled his eyes at Eddie’s immediate question when he picked up the phone.
“What, no hello?” Christopher snuggled closer in his sleep. They had eaten ice cream and turned on a documentary on aliens that they liked and the young boy had quickly fallen asleep with his head on Buck’s lap. Eddie sighed, voice annoyed and amused.
-
“Hi, Buck. Is everything okay?”
“Everything’s fine, I just wanted to let you know that Christopher had his first partial transformation which freaked him out a bit but I calmed him down.” There was a long silence that picked at Buck’s anxiety, so he started to ramble. “He’s really cute right now, at least the tail is, the claws digging into my thighs are a little less so but still. Luckily I’m not wearing my grey sweats or the blood-”
“I think I’m having a stroke,” Eddie cut him off, sounding winded. “Did you say tail?” Buck laughed,
“Come on, man, don’t act so surprised. Sure, Christopher is a little young for his first moon but you had to have known this was coming.” Eddie made a choking noise that definitely sounded like he was surprised and for the first time Buck wondered if Eddie hadn’t been born a wolf. Turnings were rare nowadays and the lack of familiarity with wolf customs would have made sense. “Eds, you do know that A shift is all wolves right?”
“Holy shit.” Buck took that as a no. “So you…Bobby and…” He kept trailing off, sounding more and more desperate each time. “You know that I-” Eddie croaked like a strangled cat, “Buck.”
“Take some deep breaths for me, ba-bud.” Where the hell had that come from? Buck shrugged his shoulders, shaking off the instinct to call his best friend babe. “Deep breaths, come on.” Buck soothed Eddie just like he had his son a few hours earlier. He could picture Eddie’s shoulders shaking as he took a breath. “Good, okay. When you get here later, we can talk about it.” Eddie made a softer noise, almost a whimper. “Just know that everything’s okay and Christopher is taken care of.”
“Buck…” Eddie trailed off again, sighing his name like it was a hail Mary. Buck ran his fingers through Christopher’s soft fur. He was going to make it okay. Buck was going to fix everything.  He could hear Eddie’s fear and the smell of Chrstopher’s was burnt into his memory, neither of which made him feel good.
“I’ve got your back, Eds.” There was a pause and Buck knew from all the way across town that Eddie’s hands were fidgeting like they always did when he was anxious. Eddie sighed heavily.
“I  know you do.” The affirmation warmed Buck’s soul, Eddie’s trust cascading over him like morning sunlight.
“We’ll see you in a few hours.”
Christopher was now fully back to human form, well, besides the tail. The fluffy, black tail refused to go away and Buck was already thinking of ways to explain to his school why Chris would need a sick day that didn’t involve the truth. Maybe mono. Yeah, mono could work. Buck worked on typing up an email that Eddie could send into the school for the absence.
“Can we order pizza for dinner?” Christopher asked, looking up from his game of Mario on the tv.
“Yeah, we can order pizza. Do you want cheese?” Christopher’s brow scrunched together, thinking, and after a long moment he surprised Buck by asking for meat lovers, something he usually stuck his nose up at. Buck would have to make burgers for lunch tomorrow before they headed out to the mountains.
When Eddie showed up, the pizza had just been delivered and Christopher was eyeing it hungrily, oblivious to the fact his father was staring at him with wide eyes. Buck, not wanting Christopher to feel embarrassed, quickly grabbed Eddie by the hand and dragged him upstairs while telling Christopher to tuck in without them.
“He’s got a tail,” Eddie pointed towards the stairs and Buck swatted his hand down. “Why does he have a tail?”
“Well, I assume it’s because you have a tail once a month,” Buck manhandled Eddie into sitting down on the bed, concerned and amused by the stunned look on his face. Eddie’s emotions were all over the place, there was fear and confusion rolling off of him, the scents filling Buck’s nostrils, triggering his calming pheromones once again. Eddie leaned forward slightly, inhaling deeply.
“I don’t understand what’s going on, Buck. I know I’m a-” Eddie shuddered. “He shouldn’t have to be in that kind of pain.” Pain?
“Pain? There shouldn’t be any pain, not unless you’re chaining yourself in silver or something.” The stricken look on Eddie’s face gave him away and Buck’s heart hurt. He squatted down to be eye-to-eye, reaching out to touch Eddie’s arm. Skin to skin contact was always the best way for omegas to soothe other wolves and it seemed to help. “Eddie, Christopher’s never going to be in pain because he’s a wolf and,” Buck squeezed his forearm. “I’m not going to let you be in pain anymore either.”
-
Eddie watched as Buck sorted things out in a stunned silence. He was on the phone with Bobby, explaining everything, and had called Christopher’s school on his behalf before that. There was no physical clipboard in his hands but it was there in spirit. Eddie felt stupid for not coming clean to Buck sooner because even if he hadn’t also been a werewolf, Buck would have thrown all of his support behind helping Eddie figure things out. Just like he was doing now.
Because of course Buck knew how to fix everything, he always did. Honestly, Eddie was impressed that Buck had known about Eddie being a wolf for so long without forcing him to come clean. Warm fondness overtook Eddie as he watched Buck pace around the living room. The man had been a thorn in Eddie’s side when he first joined the department but he had managed to make himself integral to every part of Eddie’s life, of his son’s life. He was everything Eddie could want in a best friend and…more.
“It’s settled,” Buck announced with a clap of his hands, startling Christopher who had been engrossed in his game. “You’ll both be joining us in the mountains tomorrow, Chris, Denny and Harry are very excited that you’ll get to play with them.”
“Cool!” Christopher’s tail, which was still taking some getting used to for both him and his dad, wagged excitedly. “I’m gonna call Denny.” Christopher hopped up from the couch, moving towards the spare bedroom like he owned the place. With Christopher gone, Eddie turned his attention back to Buck, finding him already looking.
“You two can stay here overnight, hopefully when he’s asleep he’ll relax enough for the tail to go away.” Buck was taking everything in stride and it was impossible for Eddie not to feel soothed by the way he had everything under control. “You ready for bed? Christopher’s fading fast, he’ll probably fall asleep on the phone.” Bed. Sharing a bed. Bed with Buck. Buck who smelled really good. Eddie wasn’t going to make it out of the next 48 hours with his sanity intact.
“Yeah, bed sounds good.”
Eddie checked in with Christopher before heading upstairs and changing into a pair of Buck’s sweats when offered. Buck’s bed was large enough for them to sleep side-by-side without touching but somehow they ended up shoulder to shoulder in the middle of the bed.
“Why do you smell so good all the time?” Eddie flipped on his side and Buck did the same. “Is it a wolf thing?”
“It’s an omega thing,” Buck explained, a soft smile on his pink lips. “When I’m trying to calm people down, my scent gets sweeter and stronger.” Omega? Also, if that was only supposed to happen when he was calming people down, why did he always smell so good?
“What’s an omega?” Eddie asked because he couldn’t think of anything else to say and obviously, the classification meant something if that’s how Buck chose to identify himself.
“Well, according to stereotypes, we’re peace seeking, child raising, submissive wolves.” Submissive? Why was that the only word that stuck out to Eddie? Was Buck blushing? Stop thinking about it, Eddie. Nope. Buck was his best friend, he wasn’t supposed to imagine Buck any type of way, especially not that kind of way but he couldn’t help it. Images of Buck on his knees, laying in bed beneath Eddie, whimpering and begging-
Yeah. Eddie needed to get it together before he got hard. Buck took a deep breath, eyes fluttering shut, the smile on his face growing.
“Come here, you still seem pretty stressed out,” Buck laid on his back and opened his arms, inviting Eddie to cuddle close. Buck’s chest was solid and warm beneath his head and Buck’s delicious scent was thick in the air around them, and Eddie found himself drifting off to sleep within seconds.

Something About The Moon Brings Us Together | Ch. 1
read it on ao3
Buck was waiting for the day that Eddie came clean about being a werewolf. The entire 118 pack had scented it on him during his first day but he hadn’t brought it up or taken Bobby up on his offer to join them for their full moon night in the mountains. As it turns out, Christopher was going to force his father’s hand because in the middle of Buck’s living room was a half-transformed and terrified child.
Or: The one where Buck takes care of the Diaz boys, especially when Christopher turns out to be a werewolf too.
a/n: everyone can thank @closetspngirl for this getting posted
Buck was waiting for the day that Eddie came clean about being a werewolf. The entire 118 pack had scented it on him during his first day but he hadn’t brought it up or taken Bobby up on his offer to join them for their full moon night in the mountains. As it turns out, Christopher was going to force his father’s hand because in the middle of Buck’s living room was a half-transformed and terrified child.
Maybe it hadn’t been a problem with him and his sisters so Eddie hadnt thought about it.

Previous Chapter
“We should talk about renewing the lease,” I shouted over the music, flipping pancakes. Tasha was sitting on the counter, eating the blueberries that were supposed to be added to the batter.
“I’ve been thinking about that,” Tasha spoke through a mouthful of fruit, “I think you should move out.” The words didn’t process immediately, lingering in the air as the pancake began to burn in the pan. Move out? How could my best friend want me to move out? We didn’t argue, I cooked her favorites whenever she wanted them, I didn’t leave my dirty clothes on the hallway floor unlike someone I could point fingers at.
“You should,” I took a deep breath. “You should keep explaining before I start crying.” Tasha snorted out a laugh, hopping off the counter to hug me from behind and I moved the pan off the burner to keep myself from burning anything else.
“You know I love you and how much I love living with you, my little tequila tornado,” She kissed my cheek. “But you’re engaged, you and Hangman fuck like rabbits, which, ew.” Okay, so Natasha wasn’t mad at me. I laughed softly. “And you’ve got boat loads of money, sooooooo,” She squeezed my hips. “I think you should buy a house and start filling it up with more nieces I can spoil.”
“Jake and I haven’t even talked about all of that stuff yet, I mean, kids yeah, but not moving in together.” Natasha made a angry buzzer noise,
“You’re engaged, nauseatingly in love, and did I mention all of the sex?” I pushed Tasha off of me, shaking my head as I laughed. She stuck her tongue out, “You’re telling me if you pulled up a Zillow listing and texted to Hangman, he wouldn’t agree to buy the house without even looking at it?”
“I think he’d at least look at it,” I busied myself while Natasha laughed, throwing out the burnt pancake. “But before you kick me out, at least let me talk to the guy.”
“Whatever,” Natasha grabbed one of the pancakes off the stack and took a bite. “Aww, there’s no blueberries in this one.”
“That’s because someone was slacking on their blueberry duties,” I pointed the spatula at her. “Now come on, we’ve still got some batter left.”
Natasha’s idea of moving in with Jake had quickly taken root in my brain and she was right, technically I had enough money to buy a house all on my own. Nothing fancy, I didn’t have millions lying around, but I had enough and I also had an agent who loved making me happy.
“Hey, baby,” Jake sounded out of breath. “What’s up?”
“You know how you like to say things that make my brain explode?” I bit the tip of my thumb, eyeing the yellow fixer-upper Jason had sent me. One story, three bedrooms, a fenced in backyard. It needed a little love and DIY but the more I looked at the listing photos, the more I could see it becoming the perfect first house. A yard for Pretty, an office for me, and plenty of space to have the Daggers over.
“You’re cute when you’re flustered,” Jake chuckled. “What’s going on, baby?”
“Move in with me. I’ll buy this house Jason found for us, you let me decorate however I want, and maybe you can move some of the boxes shirtless.” Jake’s silence transitioned into random noises and half sentences. “Not so fun being the one who has to reboot their brain, is it, cowboy?”
“You want to buy a house?”
“Well, Tasha said I should buy a house and start having babies with you,”
“Jesus, Wildflower,” Jake choked and coughed. “You’re hell bent on giving me a heart attack this morning, aren’t you?” I laughed, laying back against the pillows next to Pretty Boy, who was snuggled up for a mid-morning nap. “I’m like two miles away from your apartment, give me a few minutes and we can talk about this in person.”
“You out for a run?” I dropped my voice a bit, teasing him, “All hot and sweaty?” Jake groaned,
“I do not need to be hard while running two miles, Wildflower. Behave.”
“Or what?”
About an hour later we were laying in bed with the laptop perched on my lap. Jake had refused to take his hands on me since entering my room, even when I forced him to shower, which had been a little complicated with the size of our bathroom.
“How long has Jason been looking at houses for us?” Jake asked, kissing my shoulder.
“About a week,” I pulled up the list of houses, condos, and apartments Jason’s real estate agent had sent over. “I really like the yellow one but it’s going to need some work to make it perfect.”
“Lucky for you, your husband is good with his hands,” One of those hands slid over top of my thigh, squeezing. “In more ways than one.” If we weren’t careful, we’d never end up looking at the houses.
“Hands to yourself, fiance,” I elbowed him gently, “We’ve got things to talk about. Especially if you want to keep calling yourself my husband without the paperwork.”
“We could fix that, all we need is a witness and a judge,” Jake moved the laptop, moving me on top of his lap. Jake kissed my jaw, then my neck, “And I love the yellow house, even if I’m going to break my back renovating that kitchen.”
“We can look at houses with already remodeled kitchens,” I offered, tilting my head back to give him better access to my neck. “Save your back.” Jake made a rumbly noise when I dragged my nails gently down the muscles of his back, “Or maybe we keep looking and-fuck, Jake.” He chuckled, sucking a hickey into my neck.
“I kind of like the idea of building the kitchen of your dreams with my own two hands.” Was it possible to be any more in love with Jake? I didn’t think so.
X
Daisy had been solely focused on the idea of moving in together. I tried not to take it personally that it was more because she was avoiding one of her writing deadlines. Not that she wasn’t excited for the right reasons though. The day after we had viewed the house on her laptop we had scheduled a viewing of the house and put in an offer, I tried not to feel like a sugar baby while Daisy managed all of the finances involved. I made good money as a pilot but according to the phone calls I had overheard between Daisy and Jason, my bank account was nothing compared to hers.
Rooster was understanding about the whole thing, apparently he was looking forward to living alone. Without a roommate he could “play the field more.” Javy was also excited, he and Phoenix were talking about moving in together. Well, they were mostly arguing about it. Javy liked his apartment, it was nice and there was a pool at the complex. Phoenix didn’t want to pack her stuff and she liked how Daisy had decorated their current apartment.
But today was all about Mav and Penny. Well, mostly Mav. He had decided to wear a suit instead of his dress whites for their wedding and didn’t trust that any of us had suits that weren’t leftover from junior prom, so he had ordered us guys to meet him at a local shop to get fitted for suits.
“Never I thought I’d see the day where Hangman got engaged,” Maverick patted me on the shoulder while I looked between fabric samples. “Proud of you, kid.”
“Thanks, Mav,” I sighed. “I’m glad you’re going first though,” I was. I wanted to see one of the other aviators get married to sooth the irrational part of my brain that liked to whisper that it would never work. That someone who risked their life every day when they went to work, disappeared for months at a time for deployments, and couldn’t always talk about what they did. The risk, the secrets, the possible time spent apart… I was worried.
“And I’m glad Goose and Ice did it before me,” Mav said softly, getting a far away look in his eyes. “They showed me what a good marriage looks like and I’m hoping you and I can do it half as well as them.”
The sentiment hit me hard. I thought about my parents and my sisters, how happy they all were in their marriages despite the challenges. I looked down at the silver band on my left hand, the ring Daisy had gotten me to wear when I wasn’t in the air even though I told her I didn’t need one. I knew its weight was minimal but staring down at it, knowing what it meant, that made it feel like a thousand pound weight on my finger.
“No paisley suits, Hangman,” Mav patted my shoulder again before walking away. I laughed softly to myself, I had flipped to an orange and pink paisley fabric swatch without realizing it.
Jake: I love you
Daisy: I love you too

The classification of alpha, beta, and omega fell out of favor in the late eighties, early nineties. That didn’t mean the biological components of these classifications were any less real though. Something about omegas was that their body temperatures tended to run low, compensating for the higher body temperature of alphas and betas. Buck thought of it as a cruel joke, his body was literally made to be cuddled yet he had no one to cuddle him.
That wasn’t the truth actually. As the only omega of the 118, Buck had his pick of cuddle partners while on shift but when he went back to his apartment, that’s when he really felt cold and alone.
“Buck, what did you do?” Hen sniffed the locker room air, leveling him with a glare. Damn. busted before the shift even started.
“N-nothing?” Hidden in his locker, sandwiched between extra socks in his duffle was a packet of little, pink pills that promised to suppress his omega tendencies. He hadn’t noticed a difference yet but obviously Hen had.
“What did you take this time? And for the love of everything good and holy, don’t tell me it was those alpha synths again.” The synthetic alpha hormones were supposed to have mellowed out his omega side but instead they had sent him to the hospital.
“I haven’t taken anything,” Buck lied. “And if I had, it definitely wasn’t those, but of course there’s nothing to worry about because I took nothing.”
“Fine, fine,” Hen held up her hands in surrender. “But if you pass out again, you won’t have to worry about me, Eddie will kill you for me.” Buck’s wolf whined at the mention of his best friend, the needy little bastard. Both Buck and his wolf wanted Eddie more than anything. As an alpha, as a friend, as…more than a friend. But Eddie was just a friend. Nothing more. Which had absolutely nothing to do with Buck wanting to suppress the parts of himself that craved the attention of another wolf. Absolutely nothing.
“You’re exaggerating, I’m fine.” Buck refused to look at Hen, walking past her out of the locker room. Chimney sniffed the air as he passed.
“Not again, Buck,” chimney groaned. Buck kept his head down, moving for the loft. Bobby didn’t say anything about him smelling weird, which might have had more to do with the fact that whatever he was cooking smelled amazing. He offered Buck a warm smile.
“Good morning, Buck.”
“Morning, Bobby. Is that shakshuka?” Spicy tomato sauce with eggs, served with toast, it was one of the best things Bobby made for breakfast.
“It is, do you want to help?” Buck shook his head, feeling a little tired that morning. “Alright, just curl up on the couch while I finish up.” There were blankets all over the couch, perfect for the omega to curl into and drift asleep in, listening to Bobby hum while he cooked.
Buck woke to warm hands on his shoulders, less than gently shaking him awake.
“Wha?” He mumbled, blinking at the light until Eddie’s face came into focus. Eddie’s very annoyed face. “Leave me alone,” He whined, trying to bury himself back into the blankets but Eddie wouldn’t let him, guiding Buck forcibly into a sitting position.
“What’s going on, Buck? Your scent is off,” Eddie felt Buck’s forehead and Buck leaned into the warmth.
“I’m okay,” Buck hoped it wasn’t a lie. Eddie made a growly noise, hauling Buck into his lap. That. That was new. Sure, Buck and Eddie were always attached at the hip but they didn’t have the same cuddly relationship that Buck had with the rest of the crew. Something that had always made Buck a little sad.
“Tell me what’s going on, Buck,” Eddie whispered, running his cheek on the omega’s head, scenting him. Eddie’s scent was spicy and citrusy, making Buck’s head fuzzy with need to inhale even more of it, to bury his face in Eddie’s neck.
“I’m just sleepy,” Buck mumbled.
“Being tired doesn’t weaken your scent,” Eddie pinched his side and Buck whined. Eddie’s arms tightened around him and the scent pouring out of him became stronger, like he was trying to make up for the loss of Buck’s scent with his own.
“Buckley!” Chimney’s shout was angry and Buck cowered away from the sound, dragging a blanket over himself.
“What did you do?” Eddie whispered, ducking his head under the blanket with Buck. The scent and warmth from Eddie was overwhelming and Buck expected himself to start purring but the reaction didn't come and he found himself oddly disappointed.
“I took something but it’s nothing bad.” Hen shouted his name, having undoubtedly seen the pills.
“Buck, did you take something again?” Bobby didn’t shout but the disappointment was evident and that hurt Buck just as much.
“Again?” Eddie pulled down the blanket so that he could see Buck, annoyance replaced with worry. “What does he mean, again?”
“It wasn’t a big deal,” Buck tried to downplay it, his cheeks going hot.
“Like hell it wasn’t, you ended up in the hospital.” That was a fair point but Buck didn’t want to hear it. “Hen, Chim, what is it?”
“Isn’t this a HIPAA violation or something?” Buck grumbled but was ignored. He moved to get off Eddie’s lap but Eddie only tightened his arms, holding Buck close.
“Hormone suppressants, looks like he’s on day four.” Hen ratted him out without hesitation. “What were you thinking, Buck?”
“You wouldn’t understand,” Buck glared at all of them. “You don’t know what it’s like to be tortured by your biology because you’re some freak of nature.” Eddie growled softly, rubbing his cheek against Buck’s shoulder. Eddie hated it when Buck called himself a freak of nature for being a male omega, always grabbing him by the shoulder with his thumb pressed to Buck’s collarbone, and looking at him with big, brown eyes while he reassured Buck.
“I don’t know if it’s safe for you to be working while on these, Buck.” Bobby sighed, running a hand over his face. Anger flared in Buck’s chest, burning hot and fast, he knew what he was doing with these pills. Kinda. Mostly. How could they bench him without even knowing if he was actually in danger? It wasn’t fair, they couldn’t-
“Look at his face, that’s a lawsuit face,” Chim laughed and Buck felt a wave of shame that doused the fire of his anger. “Oh, now he’s sad.” Buck tried to get up again but Eddie wouldn’t let him, not that he’d ever fight hard to get away from Eddie. The human part of Buck was dealing with anger and shame but the wolf part of him wanted to go limp in Eddie’s embrace, show his neck, and hope to feel the sharp sting of Eddie’s teeth even though the firehouse loft was definitely not a place for claiming.
“Hen, check his vitals, Eddie, um,” Bobby’s lips pursed as he looked over them. “Keep an eye on him. As long as he’s not presenting any worrying vitals of symptoms, we let him work, but only if you promise to stop taking the suppressants, Buck.”
“Fine,” Buck grumbled, crossing his arms.
Eddie didn’t let Buck out of his sight for the whole shift, following him around, and keeping an eye on him. The day had been busy, with plenty of calls to fill the hours until night rolled around, then things were quie- things were slow.
“I’m checking your vitals before bed,” Eddie dragged him into the back of the ambulance. The crease in Eddie’s brow had been ever present today and without thinking, Buck reached out to smooth it with his thumb. Eddie paused trying to find the blood pressure cuff, his shoulders relaxing, his gaze softening as he watched Buck. “What were you thinking, Buck?”
“Are you going to lecture me again?” Buck didn’t feel like getting lectured, all he wanted to do was curl up in his bunk. No, he wanted to curl up on the couch where all the blankets were. The blankets would make up for the lack of cuddles since everyone was upset with him.
“Maybe,” Eddie huffed, attaching the blood pressure cuff. “Okay, that’s within range.” Buck sighed, leaning against the side of the ambulance.
“I just wanted to feel normal.” It was a lame explanation, boiled down to the base point without any of the intricacies. Eddie hummed thoughtfully but didn’t say anything while he checked Buck’s temperature and heart rate. They must have been acceptable because he didn’t launch into a lecture when he was done, instead he took Buck by the hand, which wasn’t exactly new but not a normal occurrence either, and guided him to the bunk room where everyone was already fast asleep.
Buck didn’t say anything, enjoying the attention too much. The suppressants were supposed to stop his longing for a connection with another wolf but could drugs ever change the way he felt about his best friend? Probably not. Eddie guided them to a bunk and crawled in, beckoning Buck to follow, and who was he to say no?
This time the purr did start in Buck’s chest as he buried his face in his best friend’s neck, breathing in Eddie’s comforting scent, but it sounded…off. Eddie’s hand came to rest on the back of Buck’s neck, keeping him in place.
“You don’t need to change anything,” Eddie whispered, barely audible over Chimney’s snores. “You’re perfect, Buck.”
Thankfully Bobby didn’t ask questions when Buck requested a few days off after cycling off of the suppressants. What Buck should have expected was that Bobby would send someone to check on him.
Buck had made a nest of blankets and pillows on his bed, snacks on the nightstand, a heating pad laid across his cramping stomach, and a plug in his ass trying to trick his body into thinking it was going to get the pup it wanted. He was prepared to stay in his nest for as long as he could, leaving its warm embrace only when necessary.
It felt like his body was on fire with the desire to be pupped. As an omega that’s all he wanted, even if he had no one who wanted to give them to him. Buck had been through heats alone before and they sucked a thousand times worse than sleeping with random wolves who wanted to mount a male omega. They would knot him a few times the first day and then dip, leaving him to handle the rest of the heat alone, but at least after the first day of knotting the burning sensation and cramps would lessen to a manageable amount. No one had ever wanted to stay for the whole thing, the novelty of topping a freak of nature wearing off quickly.
Buck was lamenting this when he heard his front door unlock. There were only two people with keys and either way, Buck was going to die of embarrassment.
“Buck?” Eddie called out, letting himself in, because of course he did. He had a key and an open invitation, which had never been a bad thing before. But barging in on a needy omega in heat was definitely not a good thing, especially when that omega had a massive crush on his best friend.
“Go away!” The door closed and the hopeful part of Buck crossed its fingers that  Eddie had listened to him. The hopeful part of him was disappointed when he heard footsteps. The horny, omega part of him on the other hand…that was a different story. “Go away, you can’t be here!”
“What’s going on, man?” Eddie’s voice got louder as he came up the stairs. “Oh, your scent’s back.” Buck tried to ignore the satisfaction he felt that Eddie had noticed it. “It’s really strong too.”
“Eddie, please don’t come up here,” Buck begged from deep inside his nest. “Please,shit-” He groaned in pain as a wave of cramps hit, stronger this time as he caught a whiff of Eddie’s scent.
“You made a nest?” The confusion was evident in his voice. Omegas only made nests when they needed a higher level of comfort or during heats. “What’s wrong? Are you still feeling the suppressants?” Eddie moved closer and Buck’s wolf whined to peak his head out and drag Eddie into the nest with him.
“I’m fine, I’m just-” In heat. Those words were too embarrassing to say aloud. “Eds, just go.”
“Not until you tell me what’s going on.” God, was he really that oblivious? “Obviously you need something, do you need cuddles?” The whine that left him was embarrassing but he couldn’t stop it, even by biting his lip.
“Eddie,” Buck adjusted the blankets so that he could expose his head, which ended up being a mistake for multiple reasons. For one, he could now see and smell Eddie without a barrier, making his need for him even stronger. Even more so, Eddie’s nostrils flared as Buck’s undiluted scent filled the air and there was no doubt in Buck’s mind that Eddie had figured out what was going on. Not with the way he was looking at him, like he was a man starving and Buck was a ribeye steak.
Buck’s wolf was fighting to take control of the show, to present himself, whine, beg, do anything to get Eddie to stay and breed him.
“You’ll go into rut, you have to go.” Buck wasn’t sure how he managed to get the full sentence out without begging Eddie to get into bed. Before he could do anything stupid or see the probably disgusted look on Eddie’s face, Buck ducked back into his nest.
“You’re in heat.”
“No shit.”
“You’re in pain and I can help,” Eddie sounded almost like he was rationalizing something to himself. Another wave of strong cramps overtook Buck, causing him to cry out, and Eddie must have finished rationalizing whatever he was thinking about because the next thing he knew, there was a rush of cold air and then Eddie was with him in the nest.
Buck had built his nest for one, it was pretty much a pillow fort on his best with twenty or so blankets providing him with the feeling of being cocooned and held tight. But when Eddie wrapped his arms around Buck, he knew the comfort of a nest would never be enough again.
Eddie was oh so warm and his spiced, citrus scent was sharper than normal, inviting Buck to bury his face in the alpha’s neck but he resisted the urge.
“I can help.” Eddie apparently had no reservations about burying his face in Buck’s neck, dragging his day old stubble along the sensitive skin. “Let me help, Buck.”
“I’m not getting pity fucked by my best friend.” Eddie’s growl sent sparks through Buck’s chest.
“It wouldn’t be a pity fuck, trust me.” Buck’s sanity was hanging on by a thread when he pulled Eddie’s face out of his neck so that he could look him in the eyes.
“I need you to be so serious right now, Eds,” Buck’s voice was serious, even as his face inched closer, the magnetic pull between their lips hard to fight. “Because I can’t handle this if it’s just the hormones talking. I mean, do you even like men?”
Eddie slipped a hand beneath Buck’s sweatshirt, grunting in displeasure when he found a t-shirt instead of bare skin.
“I like you, that’s all that matters.” Buck’s heart wanted to give in right there but Bobby had beaten Buck 1.0’s manwhore tendencies out of him with a stick of love and kindness and he’d be damned if he screwed it all up with someone as important as Eddie.
“If this is anything short of you being in love with me, I’m going to need you to get out of my nest.” Eddie didn’t budge, in fact, he pressed closer, their lips barely a hair apart.
“Neither one of us is leaving this nest until I stretch you open with my knot and fill you with my seed.” Jesus Christ. Buck’s last shred of sanity burst into flames. He wasn’t sure who kissed who but what he did know was that Edmundo Diaz was one hell of a kisser. Eddie kissed him like he owned him, hard and firm, a hand coming to cradle the back of Buck’s head.
The fire beneath Buck's skin was unbearable now that there was an alpha, who, if his strengthening scent was any indicator, was quickly going into rut in Buck’s bed.
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to do this?” Eddie growled between kisses, hands slipping under Buck’s multiple layers until they found the skin of his back. “It’s always been you, you’ve always been my perfect omega.” The whine that left Buck was embarrassing but it seemed to be working for Eddie. “You’re mine.”
“Yours,” Buck canted his hips, pressing their fronts together, moaning at the friction. Eddie was rock hard in his jeans, matching Buck’s own excitement. “Yours, yours, yours,” Buck chanted softly, “Want to be yours.”
Eddie was getting increasingly growly, stripping Buck and himself down to their boxers, their clothes joining the nest that was rapidly expanding in size as Eddie and Buck shifted around in the bed.
“When you lost your scent I was losing my mind,” Eddie kissed his way down to Buck’s neck, sucking what was sure to be a spectacular hickey onto the pale skin. “Every instinct I had was to keep you close, to keep you safe, but you weren’t mine yet.”
“I was,” Buck scratched down Eddie’s muscular back as the man continued leaving hickeys all over Buck’s chest. “Always been yours, always. I just thought you didn’t want me.”
“How could I not want you? You’re my partner, my son’s other dad, you’re…you.” Buck had never felt so loved, letting Eddie’s words wash over him like warm sunlight. Another round of cramps began and Buck pulled Eddie’s head up by the hair to kiss him through it. Eddie was pure dominance, bullying Buck onto his back, straddling Buck’s legs.
“Need you,” Buck whined when they broke apart, blindly shoving at Eddie’s boxers. Eddie helped him push them down, kicking them off of his ankles. “Need you inside of me, need your pups.” The heat inside of the nest was becoming unbearable with Eddie’s body pressed against his, so he yanked at a few blankets and exposed them to the rest of the room, the cold air a welcome relief.
“Such a needy little thing, aren’t you?” Eddie reached down to rid Buck of his boxers, stroking his weeping cock. “What do you need? What does my omega need?”
“Inside of me, I need you inside of me. I need you to knot me,” Buck begged, thrusting his hips as Eddie stroked him. His skin was burning with desire and God, did Eddie look beautiful right now. Eddie was straddling Buck, watching Buck’s face with a cocked head as he jerked him off. His skin was covered in a sheen of sweat that Buck just wanted to lick off of him, to taste him. Buck wanted to know what every inch of Eddie tasted like, what he would feel like when he fucked Buck into the mattress, how his teeth would feel when Eddie claimed him, what Eddie’s cum would feel like plugged inside of him.
“I’ll give you what you need, sweetheart. Present.” Eddie moved to allow Buck to flip onto his front, sliding onto his hands and knees. “Such a good boy for me.”
“Always, always, always.” Buck babbled, brain going fuzzy with praise. “Always yours. Want you, want you so bad.”
“You’re ready for me too,” Buck gasped, feeling Eddie tug gently at the plug, teasing him, slowly moving it around. The sensation and anticipation were unlike anything else. Don’t get him wrong, Buck’s been fucked every which way by every which person, but everything with Eddie just seemed better. “Should I be concerned that someone’s going to show up? Try to take you from me?” Eddie growled, still teasing his hole.
“No one, promise,” Buck pressed his hips back, hoping to show how desperate he was. “Thought about it, couldn’t do it, all I wanted was you.”
“This is all for me?”
“Yes, yes, please, Eds, please,” Buck begged, tears of desperation pooling in his eyes. “It hurts.” Those two words seemed to get through to him, Eddie kissed his back, voice going soft.
“I know, baby, I’m sorry.” Buck didn’t have long to feel empty when Eddie finally pulled out the plug because he was quickly being stretched with Eddiie’s cock as he began to slowly push in. “Here you go, here’s what you need.” Buck pushed back, moaning as an extra few inches slipped in with the movement. “Shit, sweetheart. You’re taking me so well. Good boy, my good fucking boy.”
“Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me,” Buck’s sloppy, desperate moves were halted by Eddie’s hands on his hips, fingers digging in so hard that he hoped bruises would form. Just another mark proving he was Eddie’s.
“Patience, Buck,” Eddie encouraged, “Just a little bit longer and then I’ll give you what you need.”
When Eddie finally bottomed out, Buck thought he was in heaven. Eddie’s cock wasn’t overly long but it was thick, with a bit of a curve that felt amazing as it brushed past his prostate on the way in. Eddie gave him a moment to adjust but he must have known what Buck needed, just like he always did, because he began to thrust, setting a brutal pace.
Sex had never felt this good. Buck moaned like he was being paid, shoulders falling forward with the force of Eddie’s thrusts, his face buried in a pillow.
“Shit, you feel amazing, you’re taking me so good, squeezing me tight,” Eddie praised. “No one else gets to fuck you like this, this hole is mine, you’re mine.”
“Make me yours,” Buck cried out. “Claim me, Eddie. Want everyone to know I’m yours.” Eddie’s knot began to swell, catching on Buck’s rim, adding a whole new sensation that overwhelmed Buck. He wasn’t going to last much longer feeling his release building with a vengeance.
“You look so God damn pretty stretching around me, taking my cock. You’re gonna look so good with my mark on you. I bet you’re going to wear those slutty little tank tops just to show it off, aren’t you?” Had that been the plan? No. Was it now the plan?
“Yessss,” Buck clawed at the sheets. “Fill me up, come inside me, please, Eds.” Eddie’s knot caught and Buck cried out with his own orgasm, Eddie’s teeth sinking into his shoulder, breaking the skin, claiming him. Eddie’s warm seed filled him, rope after rope, kept inside by the knot. Eddie lapped at the bite, giving short thrusts of his hips, prolonging Buck’s pleasure and his own as the knot tugged at his rim, swelling just to the point of too much.
“I love you,” Eddie whispered, twisting them onto their sides. “I love you so much. Probably should’ve found a better time to say it then right now,” He chuckled softly, warm breath teasing Buck’s neck, covering him in goosebumps.
“I love you too,” Buck panted softly, reaching back to run his fingers through Eddie’s hair. “I think I’ve always loved you.”
“Even when you hated me?” Eddie teased, kissing Buck’s neck.
“Shut up,” Buck elbowed him when he started to laugh, the sound reverberating through his chest. The omega part of him that he had been trying to suppress was satiated for now, a soft purr filling the silence in the room.
“That’s a good boy,” Eddie spread a hand over Buck’s stomach, as if Buck really could get pregnant and he was hoping to feel something. “Rest while you can because as soon as this knot goes down, I’m fucking another load into you. Gotta make sure it takes.”

Jake: I love you
Daisy: I love you too
Daisy: Can’t wait to see you in your suit xoxo

Jake: I love you
Daisy: I love you too
Daisy: Can’t wait to see you in your suit xoxo

Special writing partner today!!!
Mr. Ming (we adopted him with said name) is my 15 year old, 25lbs Siamese that we adopted while hungover in college 3 years ago. He usually prefers my roommate but she's out for the weekend, which means I get cuddles.
The shelter gave us special diet food for him and told us he didn't eat much...then he found the normal cat food and we found out that like his owners, Ming is not a fan of diets (but he will threaten your life for a chicken nugget)
Also, there's only 3 chapter of Wildflowers for a Hangman left (including today's chapter) and I'm sad about it

Previous Chapter
“How did my beautiful fiance sleep?” Jake whispers, kissing the back of my neck. It had been a week since his return and we were still in a blissful bubble, spending as much time as possible wrapped up in each other outside of work.
“Hand’s asleep,” I mumbled, turning to face him. “Something heavy’s on it,” I put my left hand on his chest, admiring the ring there. The heirloom was perfect and it meant so much to me that pops had chosen to give it to me, that his whole family had schemed to make the proposal special. Everything about our engagement was perfect.
“How many mornings in a row are you planning on using that same joke?” Jake slid a hand beneath my shirt, fingers splaying across my back. He was looking at me like I hung the stars and the moon in the sky, like I was his entire universe, and I thought back to the days where I wasn’t sure if Jake was flirting for the hell of it and wondered how I could have been so blind to the love in his eyes.
“As many as I damn well please,” I arched to kiss him, tasting the mint of his tooth paste. He must have woken up earlier and crawled back in bed with me so that I wouldn’t wake up alone, something I hated to do after being without him for so long. Jake hummed into the kiss, rolling me onto my back. My sleep pants were already abandoned on the bedroom floor thanks to a middle of the night quickie, and it was easy for my panties to join them there.
“I love you,” Jake whispered, fingers sliding between my folds, igniting the fire within me that burned for him. He swirled his fingers around my sensitive bundle of nerves, pulling needy noises from me. “And I’m gonna marry you.”
“I’ve still got, oh my god,” I moaned as Jake began slowly working his fingers inside of me, “Still got time to run away at the altar.” He rolled his eyes,
“I run faster than you, I’m not worried.”
“Asshole,” I laughed, pinching his side. It was nice being able to love and laugh at the same time, his fingers never faltering, preparing me to take him. “I’d have Javy trip you, give me a head start.” Jake shook with gentle laughter,
“You think my best friend would betray me like that?” My response was cut off by a moan, feeling Jake push into me, filling and stretching me. No one else had ever felt this good. Maybe it was because Jake was extremely good looking and knew what he was doing in bed. Or maybe it was because I loved him just as much as he loved me.
“He would,” I rocked my hips, urging him to move. “Because his girlfriend would be my getaway driver.” Jake kissed away my giggles as he fucked me and we took turns expressing how much we loved each other. When he came, it was with my name on his lips and I swallowed it with a kiss, loving the taste on my tongue.
Tasha was on my shoulders, taping up the birthday banner. Harvey, Emma, and the girls were going to disney for Sarah’s birthday and had decided to stop by for a day to celebrate the day before.
“Is it straight?” Tasha asked, stretching for the corner, testing my own balance. I tried to look but felt my center of gravity shift and decided that a crooked banner was better than an ER trip.
“I’m sure it’s fine,” I walked us back towards the couch and slowly lowered us until she could climb off of my shoulders.
“There’s going to be beer involved at some point today, right?” Tasha pouted, “Because I’m really hoping there’s beer involved.”
“Jake’s bringing the beer,” I promised, kissing her on the cheek. “Javy’s getting the balloons, I already made the cake for tonight. All we need to do is get lunch prepped and get ready.” I had everything planned out on my phone for the day, not wanting to waste a minute of time with my nieces, even though I knew they’d be happy if I just sat them in the living room with a Disney princess movie and a trough of candy.
“I’ll leave lunch to you, unless the little monsters want burnt pasta,” Natasha gently elbowed my side with a grin.
“Shut up and shower,” I rolled my eyes. Little monsters. That girl loved my nieces and I had a sneaking suspicion I would become chopped liver the second they saw her. Auntie Daisy was cool and all but Auntie Tasha? She flew planes for a living and was sooooo much cooler (according to Sarah at least). Once they got their adorable hands on her, my only hope for love and affection would be from baby Jill.
“Auntie Tasha!” Sarah screeched, dropping Harvey’s hand and flinging herself at Natasha. Javy and Jake both looked confused and amused by the display of affection,
“Auntie Daisy!” Haley ran forward, attaching herself to my legs like a koala bear. “We’re going to see Mickey!”
“Yeah you are,” I scooped her up into my arms, kissing all over her face before settling the giggling toddler on my hip.
“You must be the boys dating my sisters,” Harvey’s “big brother” voice had me biting back a laugh, “Pilots, right?” I rolled my eyes, looking at Emma who just shrugged, patting baby Jill who was in one of those swaddle-carrying things on her chest.
“Jake Seresin, it’s nice to finally meet you, Harvey.” Jake turned on the charm, offering a handshake, “Sorry I couldn’t make it to Christmas.”
“Wait, he’s a pilot too?” Sarah whispered unsuccessfully to Natasha and I couldn’t hold back the laughter anymore, neither could Tasha apparently.
“They both are, little monster. But don’t worry, Auntie Tasha’s still the best pilot in the world,” She glared at Jake when he opened his mouth to disagree.
“Want Tasha,” Haley tugged on my shirt. It was nice while it lasted, I let her down and watched as Natasha effortlessly picked her up and placed her on her other hip, opposite Sarah. I looked at Emma,
“It’s good to see you but I fear we’ve been forgotten about,” We did a side-hug around Jill.
“It’s been a long car ride,” Emma sighed, rubbing her forehead. “I’ve heard “mom” so many times that I’m happy to be forgotten about.”
“Why don’t you go up to my room and have a few minutes of alone time? I’ll take Jill and get you once the girls are ready for lunch.” Emma grabbed my cheeks with both hands, bringing my forehead within kissing distance,
“You’re an angel, I married the wrong Prentiss.”
X
Harvey was nice, quickly changing from trying to be a protective big brother to laughing and joking with Javy and I about everything from our jobs, to sports, to Natasha and Daisy. Javy’s attention kept drifting to Natasha, who was sitting on the couch with both of the older girls glued to her side, watching something animated on the TV. Daisy was in the armchair with Jill on her chest, humming softly and kissing the baby’s head.
The images I had imagined of Daisy with a baby while I had been reading her letters on the ship were nothing compared to seeing it in real life. She looked so perfect, I mean, she was always perfect, but it was clear that Daisy loved her niece and the idea of her with our kid? That was a lot to handle, especially surrounded by kids and her brother.
Daisy looked over at me, cradling Jill with one arm, her other hand reaching out to me. I excused myself from the conversation and crossed the room to squat down beside her,
“Hi, baby,”
“Hey,” She smiled softly, whispering. “Just wanted to give you a quick kiss.” Who was I to deny her? It was chaste and short but it still had my heart kicking into overdrive.
“Do you know what you’re doing to me with all of these kids, Wildflower?” I whispered, gently running my fingertips over Jill’s arm.
“Trust me, Cowboy, I’m struggling just as much as you are.” Really? Interesting… I kissed her cheek, whispering into her ear so that only she could hear me.
“All you have to do is ask, Daisy.” Daisy swallowed hard, her cheeks burning red. “And it looks like we’re not the only ones thinking about it.” Daisy turned her head, biting her lip to keep from giggling when she saw the way Natasha was eyeing Javy like a piece of meat.
“Our kids can share birthday parties,” She teased softly. I could imagine it, Javy and I grilling hotdogs and hamburgers while little kids ran all around, Natasha and Daisy keeping an eye on them, making sure everyone was having fun. The rest of the daggers would be there, hopefully with their own kids and partners, and Mav would be trying and failing to hide his excitement after buying a totally over-the-top present that Penny told him not to.
“I can’t wait to marry you,” Is all I said in response, kissing her forehead before standing back up, “Do you need anything?”
“Can you heat up lunch? I want to get everyone fed so we can take the girls shopping.”
“Your wish is my command.”

There was a scene I wrote and deleted forever ago where Jake 100% thought about wanting to have a soccer team worth of kids and Daisy was like "I'll agree to two and you can convince me for more later" (I'm mad I got rid of it, she was wine drunk at Amelia's soccer game and said it with such a straight face, didn't even have to think about it and Jake's brain broke a little from how non chalant she was 🤣)
