I feel like Haruto knows what a canelé is. People often make him only like plain sugar donuts but I feel that is both untrue and shallow. Obviously within the realm of donuts he only eats plain sugar, but in my infinite wisdom and understanding of the character I know he loves many such desserts and café treats.
