My ML and FL weird-but-cliche family connection

FL's dad literally helped a commoner family into becoming Barons, and made them into his vassal so that they take care of FL due to reasons that is for another time. ML is adopted by FL's dad at the request of FL's mother.

No the parents aren't married

• When the dragon is too busy to do his pedicure.

It was a welcome sight, albeit an unusual one. The fluttering of the feathers adorning her head gave away Maya's amusement at the spectacle.

Their ruler was sitting at his desk, scribbling away as he attends to his daily duties. On his lap, is his wife, busying herself with his free hand.

Gently setting down the tray, Maya began pouring them tea.

"I see you're both busy, hm?" She asked, her hands steady as a hot stream of liquid flowed into the cup. No sugar; His Majesty wishes to start his morning calmly.

"His nail— or rather, claws— are atrocious. So I'm taking care of them for him." Katherine replied without missing a beat as she scrutinized his right pinky. There were an array of tools aside from the usual clutter of stationery; clippers, nail files, and even cream.

"They're not that bad... Plus, I've been swamped with paperwork; surely you'd understand, love?" His voice was soft, probably due to the embarrassment towards his wife's guardian.

Within the warm sunlight, the tips of his ears were a beautiful red. Maya chuckled as she finished preparing Katherine's tea; one sugar cube and a good helping of milk.

*Yeah, sure. Now gimme the other hand; this one's done," she dismissed his attempt at saving face, requesting for his hand. Isaac sighed, switching the quill to his left hand and kissing the top of Katherine's head before resuming his work.

Draft #IV

• That one time she was unintentionally trolled, hard.

"This is what happens when you dare to go against me. You are already useless, the least you could do is have some decency and obey."

"No, please—"

"Go."

Her eyes widen as she saw an arrow struck Isaac in his abdomen right after the scum gave his order.

Time seemed to slow down as she could only watch through the Glopetto as he loses his balance and fell to the ground. Soon after, red began to seep out of him.

As she stared at him in a pool of crimson, she felt her own run cold.

She was panting by the time she got to him, dirty, tattered dress and face smeared with tears be damned. She expected to have to face off with any of the scum's lackeys whom might've been placed there.

What she didn't expect was to see them dead in a grotesquely neat pile beneath a tree, and a perfectly healthy Isaac by a small fire, his clothes hung to dry on one of the branches.

"You've arrived— Oh, love, what's wrong?" His cheery voice immediately died down when he saw her disheveled appearance. Without a moment's haste, he stood up and approached her, one hand gingerly going to wipe her tears.

"You're... alive..." She breathed out. She neither avoided nor leaned into his hand, as her confusion fought with her panic-addled brain, her train of thoughts long since fell into a ravine, gone forever.

"I am, yes. Why wouldn't I be?" He asked incredulously.

"Arrow, shoot, blood, lots, I—" She was barely making any sense, her shock causing her to be unable to form coherent sentences. But somehow he understood,

and laughed.

"Regarding that, the most unexpected thing happened!" He mused, and then excitedly led her back to the fire, to show a completely obliterated waterskin.

Specifically, the one she made and gifted him herself.

"The arrow took me by surprise, but your gift protected me! Such a shame on the wine I brought, though..."

• Race isn't the only thing clashing between them.

He perked up at the oddly loud sound of flapping, followed by a huff. She walks into the room all while vigorously shaking her head.

"...Are you okay?"

"It's... itchy," she answered softly, causing his head to slightly tilt in concern. That was when he saw, that some of her feathers were looking a bit crusted.

"Are you perhaps... molting?" He inquired carefully. He saw how her fingers twitched, trying her hardest to endure the discomfort.

"I think... so. Maya did my nails before she left, so now I'm trying to not pick on myself so that I don't ruin them." There was a clear strain in her voice.

"How about I help you?"

"...Do you know how to preen?"

"Surely it's not that different from when I have to pick off my old scales?"

"I don't know. Maya never let me do it myself since I'll pick on the healthy feathers too— ah." She stopped a beat too late, and couldn't help but anxiously glance at him.

"Hm. I see," was all that he said.

Oh dear, is he upset? She hastily blurted out; "Look, it was one time—"

"It's okay, love. I understand," his voice became impossibly gentler.

"...Really?" "Really."

"If you say so..." she muttered as she sat on his lap, failing to catch the hitch in his breath.

• When MC was faced with the annoying thing called "marriage".

"You understand why I'm asking you of this, right?" He asked softly.

"Just because I understand, doesn't mean I will agree immediately," she retorted flatly.

He sighed softly, although the fluttering of the feathers on her head indicates that she heard it. There was a brief moment of silence between them as he contemplated on what to say next.

"You said you wished to help the people; to help me. So, what is it that makes you hesitate like so?" His voice became impossibly gentler, trying to coax her into talking to him. Despite all they went through, she was never one to tell others of her woes.

Not even him.

She bit her lower lip, an unconscious sign of her discomfort. When he reached a hand towards her, she reeled back as if he doused her with boiling water.

"Apologies, I—" "No, I'm sorry. It's just- I—" He held his tongue, waiting for her to continue.

"You deserve better, Zack. Someone who loves you, who can actually appreciate you for who you are," she sighed. And despite her obvious displeasure, he couldn't help the somersault his heart did at the nickname.

"...And I see that person as you," was his calm reply.

"You... don't understand..." She lowered her gaze, not wanting him to see the tears that were gathering in her lash line.

"Then pray tell. Make me comprehend your apprehensiveness."

• When MC finally got to meet her birth mother.

She opened her eyes to wooden beams spanning across the ceiling.

Where...?

It took her a moment to realize that she was somewhere foreign, and that other than barely opening her eyes, she was pretty much immobilized. On top of that, her body was sore all over, making her internally wince.

As she was deep in thought, trying to figure out her current state and surroundings, she was interrupted by an approaching cluster of noises. There were a flutter of wings, followed by hushed whispers.

"Is that her?"

"My, she looks just like Her Majesty!"

...What?

"Hush, now. That confirms that she's Her Highness; we must adress her respectfully."

This served to only confuse her further; she could feel the onset of a migraine.

"But I don't see her wings? Or talons?!"

"Olivia, now is not the ti— Your Majesty."

Oh dear.

"Oh, my, Your Majesty!"

"Pardon our curiosity, Your Majesty."

Her headache was worsening at this point, until "Her Majesty" spoke.

"Let's not get our feathers so ruffled, ladies."

Her Majesty's voice was velvety, and smooth like honey. Just hearing it helped to soothe her nerves, and even the ache in her head seemed to start ebbing away.

"My, you resemble me, but all of your colours are definitely from him," the new voice mused, a smile evident in her words.

Jesus Christ, minors have become so fucking cocky and self-centred recently.

It feels like every time I open up a +18 tag or go into an adult fandom space, there's all these actual kids running around, telling people they're minors.

I could be wanting to read a smut fic and I'll see a bunch of posts with the text "minor writing smut, don't like, DNI" or something like that.

How fucking stupid are you? Genuine question. Are your grades okay? Do you need to talk to the school counselor? Take a common sense test? Because I certainly think so.

Why are you entering and actively taking part in adult spaces and then using the "umm I'm a minor, so if you do or say anything, then I'm the victim and you need to get away from me, you creep" card when you get called out on your bullshit?

These adult spaces are not for you, GET THE FUCK OUT! Go sit in the corner and think about what you've done!

Teens will teen. They'll find adult material one way or another, I am fully aware of that. Hell, I'm guilty of reading smut when I was a teen. But when I did, I never told a soul.

I've had accounts run by minors as young as 13-14 interacting with my NSFW posts. And they're somehow bragging about this. Of course, I block them immediately, but I am shocked at how brazen these kids are, to have the gall to do this and think it's okay because "they're mature enough."

No. You're not. I promise you.

Becoming an adult isn't about reaching some arbitrary number. It's about learning to take responsibility for your actions. So take this advice and GET THE FUCK OUT OF ADULT SPACES! YOU'RE NOT WELCOME!

I don't care how much anon hate you kids send my way to try and get me to kms or deactivate. By all means, give me your best shot. But if you seriously think I am going to just let you do this without realising your actions have consequences, you need to be sent to the psych ward across town.

I have one specific OC, who's been with me for 11 years now.

At first she was basically a Hinata Hyuuga from Naruto's ripoff. Everything was literally copied from her; looks, personality, etc. Everything except the name. Her name was Kahoko, which I stole from a character whose anime idk to this day. Her last name's Hisagi, taken from Bleach's Hisagi Shuuhei.

Then as years went by I slowly refined her more and more, and now she's actually kind of her own character, and not just a ripoff(thank God 😭).

She's a one-for-all kind of insert, and yes she'll be unnecessarily Mary Sue for each one of them╮⁠(⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)⁠╭. Tho I will also adequately traumatize her, so I guess not exactly Mary Sue?

I even went as far as to make different names for her to fit in. For example if it's like a historical British setting kind of story(manhwas 🩷) her name will be Katherine instead, her last name depends.

Goddamn it's cringier now that I've put it in words.
