It is with a broken heart that I announce that Emmy drifted over the rainbow bridge today. Her kidney disease caught up to her and she was starting to show signs of pain, so it was time to say goodbye.
You were a weird gremlin Emmy, but you were the sweetest and most lovable cat. I will always love you.

Little Emmy update!
We have finally found a kidney diet food she seems to like and will eat at least half or more of per meal. So hopefully now she will stabilize and get healthy enough for a dental procedure that will help her as well.

Update on Emmy.
She is doing okay on her appetite medication. We changed the flavor of her kidney food from tuna to chicken which has helped a little. She is still not a fan of the kidney diet food. Also if she doesn't take the appetite med every 2 days, her appetite tanks again and she won't eat her food. She is still playful and running around and acting normal. She has another vet visit in the middle of next month so we will discuss if she should stay on the appetite meds long term or not.

Things aren't looking good for Emmy, sadly.
She isn't eating properly. Out of her last 10 meals, she only took a few bites or ignored it completely. I have tried mixing her new medicated food with her old food, gravy toppers, even putting her favorite shredded cheese on top. She still begs for food but then either just nibbles on it, or sniffs it and walks off.
She has also been dehydrated. I don't watch her all the time and we have multiple water sources, but I haven't personally seen her drink in over a week.
The vet and I are trying an appetite stimulant medication this weekend. But if she doesn't show any signs of improvement, I may have a hard decision to make.

Emmy was acting stranger then her usual goblin self yesterday, so I took her in for an emergency vet visit. Nothing was found immediately for what I thought the issue was, but blood tests were taken.
The results are back in and she is in stage 3 kidney disease. So she is going to be taken off her regular food and put on a prescribed kidney diet. Hopefully this will also solve her issue with not being able to gain weight despite eating 3x more then any other cat in the house.
Fingers crossed!

My parents: do you purposefully take unflattering pictures of your cat? Why can’t you send a nice one?

Somewhat good news for Pudding!
Her stitches were removed and it turns out the lump on her cheek was cancerous.
BUT! It is a slow growing, non-aggressive cancer. The vet thinks that if it comes back at all, which he hopes not, at her current age it won't be any threat to her.

Pudding had surgery today to remove a lump on her cheek and above her eye. The surgery went well and she is home safe but grumpier then usual.
The lump above her eye was a cyst from an ingrown hair and nothing to worry about.
The lump on her cheek was a solid mass and is being sent out for testing.
She will be getting lots of love and treats for the next few days as she recovers.

We are now nestled into our new home. The cats have adjusted wonderfully and quicker then I thought they would.
I wish the same could be said for us. I miss my old home already. The former owners left the home a gross mess and did everything possible before they left to make our moving in a hassle. Every day we've been here we are finding more things we need to replace or repair because they either never maintained it or fixed it in the cheapest, laziest way possible. =/ Argh.
