Among the various monikers that Bengaluru has acquired over time, ‘The Most Traffic Congested City’ is used more often. There prevails an old joke Bengalureans are all too acquainted with. It says that a person commuting from one part of the city to another will take more time on the road than a person who is flying from Bengaluru to a different city. For those who commute on a regular basis, the adage “commuting on the road is a never-ending saga due to the traffic” rings all too true. As per TomTom’s  2021 report, Bengaluru ranks 10th among the 404 cities, globally, that have the worst traffic congestion problems in the world.

Bengaluru's rise as the Silicon Valley of India, its ideal weather, parks, gardens and its vibrant culture has attracted millions of students, professionals and families from all over the world over the last few decades. This rapid population boom has far exceeded the city's environmental capacity and pace of planning to support the rate of urbanization today. The result? Bangalore's positive reputation is overridden by its mega challenges - the severe water crisis, deforestation, waste management, traffic, resource depletion, and overall loss of quality of life.

In 2004, Sampath along with his fellow auto drivers, made headway with making driver details to be displayed mandatorily on every auto rickshaw. The idea mooted by the union leader of Adarsha Auto and Taxi Drivers’ Union mirrored his interest in promoting good things and bringing in change. He believed that by pushing this system, it will ensure higher safety of the passengers and also deter any form of harassment while in the auto. It will also assure the daily commuters that they are being driven by genuine license holders.

Menstruation is a biological occurrence in a woman’s body, which takes place when the lining of the uterus breaks down and leaves the body accompanied by blood, tissues & nutrients. Menstruation is essential as it helps to protect and preserve the uterus against colonization by pathogens. A regular menstruation is a clear indication that the reproductive system is on track. It is common for every woman to experience menstruation differently but the majority of them notice changes in their body approximately 2 weeks before the cycle, this is called Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS which includes back pain, mood-swings, abdominal cramps, acne & insomnia.

Before getting to the nitty-gritty of climate change, it is important to understand the difference between weather and climate. Weather is the changes we see and feel outside on a daily basis. It varies from place to place. It could be raining heavily one day and sweltering the next. It could be cold one day and humid the next. Climate is the weather of a place. It can be different for different seasons. Typically, a place would be warm and dry in the summer, and wet and cool during the monsoons. When all the climates are combined, they form the Earth’s climate, an amalgamation of the world’s climate.

The ‘Council of States’, ‘House of Elders’, ‘The Second Chamber’ are a few of the several names of Rajya Sabha, which is the upper house of India’s bicameral constitution. The origin of Rajya Sabha can be traced to the Montague-Chelmsford Report, of 1918 which became a theoretical basis of the Government of India Act, 1919, which led to the creation of a ‘Council of State’ as a second chamber of the then legislature in 1921. The nomenclature of Rajya Sabha was later announced by the chair in the House on 23rd August, 1954.
Owing to the diverse composition of the house from various fields, Rajya Sabha, over the time earned several monikers and reputations which are often associated with the In-House celebrity members who are often devoid of powers. But is this truly the case or do the members of Rajya Sabha have crucial responsibilities which often remain in the hindsight. Let’s discover.

Women were once kept out of the socio-political domain all around the world. They were not welcome at the head of nations’ political affairs. Daughters, sisters, wives, and homemakers, child carriers, household servants, dutiful wives, self-sacrificing mothers, and other social roles were ascribed to them. Until the twentieth century, this thousands-year-old tradition went uncontested. The contemporary era too has brought about new types of oppression and denial of women’s true place have emerged, such as equal effort but unequal compensation, gender discrimination in the workplace, exclusion from country administration, and so on. However, with the changing times, more women are participating in the political sphere in the current context. There are government policies set in place that reserve key institutional positions for women. Still, these policies are always implemented and prove to be effective only because of the sheer will power of the women to play their part in the social and economic development of the country.
