I know I go on a lot about how to English fucked us Scots over almost constantly but its baffling how much Wales is overlooked as a victim of England too.

Like when, in 1960, the (English) Liverpool council asked parliament to flood (Welsh) Tryweryn Valley, including the town of Capel Celyn.

They didn’t need permission from the Welsh, even though 35 out of 35 Welsh Mps opposed it, the UK Parliament gave them the go ahead.

Despite 8 years of protesting by the Welsh people and authorities, they did it.

They flooded a school, post office, a chapel, a cemetery, homes and farms were flooded. One of the very few remaining Welsh speaking villages destroyed.

Only 8 bodies were removed and the cemetery was covered in concrete, including headstone, despite telling folk they would remove them before hand.

Or the Welsh Not, a board hung around the necks of Welsh children when they dare spoke their native tongue instead of English. Any child that wore it by the end of the day was lashed. It was introduced because the government deemed the Welsh race as lazy and immoral and their language evil.

Please don’t ever forget or look past their oppression.
