Honestly, y'all, I'm begging you. Take the time to think and learn for yourself. Even if it's just something casual like knitting or cooking. Exercise your brain. It's important.

If your life is horrible and you need a new source of meaning and direction.... Do NOT find religion. Learn to identify plants.
#adding og tags#there is a terrifying worldwide shortage of people who know how to identify bramble/blackberry species.#we haven't sorted out dandelions yet#or nettles#getting to know your neighbours changes your life#you're no longer alone! rubis fruitcosus is there.#plus if you're under 40 you will suddenly be admired and lauded by old ppl who share your hobby and thought no one gave a shit anymore#botany#plants#when u write things about botany you can be assured they will be read by weirdos for centuries to come#i love these tags seriously

I subscribed to Birdmoss and it’s The Best. I was trying to decide between Witch Casket and Birdmoss, but Birdmoss is a whole fae world so obviously I went with that. NO REGRETS! The things that have multiple versions of — like a wooden magnet with an animal carved that’s the group (house of ___) who chooses to represent you in the world of birdmoss, there are a few animals and they intuitively pick one for you, one had an oracle card chosen and put in an envelope without them seeing it, stuff like that — every time it’s been something that does have personal meaning. Had they chosen an owl for the magnet it would have just been “oh that’s pretty.” The one they chose has meaning to my ancestry. Without fail, significantly meaningful.
You don’t know the theme until you get that month’s box. My first was The Selkies. Sea fae, specifically sídhe.. yep! Gorgeous stuff too. Everything is of great quality, handmade by small businesses, and things like how the Wolf Box (from over a year ago but is being sold again temporarily) has “a wisp of fur” that was collected from just normal shedding off wolves in a rescue & rehabilitation and included information about the place!
It’s all amazing. I can’t sing their praises enough lol Their insta is pretty great too. Kind of like a JustFaeThings type of account. It’s fun. I hope they bring back the Bee Box.
Edit: hashtag NotAnAd lol
#birdmoss#You are The Dreamer and you awaken in the World of Birdmoss#it’s a whole story#AND THEY TREATED AUTISM SO WELL!!!#actually autistic#the box is The Strange Child and yeah i know what you’re thinking but no#it’s a nonverbal autistic kid who lives in this world right#and SHE finds something she thinks is pretty and gives it to you#and like if you close one eye you see the world you’ve been exploring but#if you close the other eye you see her world#the world you’ve been exploring has a palace#her world has a meadow#it’s like child me or even adult me but nonverbal#but you still understand each other because of the empathy you both have#not ‘empath’ but actual empathy#and the simplicity of this world without overstimulating and overly complicated junk#i swear they did the best intentional autism representation i have ever seen#it made my heart warm#especially since fae lore has changelings aka parents making themselves feel better about leaving their autistic toddlers in the woods to d

take figures out of their boxes btw. sew patches on your favorite jacket. go to bed with your favorite plushes. wear the pants you usually save for special occasions. draw something cool on your wall. put a sticker on your laptop. dye your hair and pierce your lips. glass is meant to break, metal is meant to rust. items are meant to be used. that's how the world knows that somebody loved them.

I seriously do not know where to start with artsy stuff. Learn crochet first or knitting? Does it matter? idc I have executive dysfunction. How do I stop being afraid of using up paints and just freaking paint?!

Had a dream where Johnny from “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” came out as a trans woman and the response was so unanimously positive it reversed nearly all of the transphobic bills in the South. She played live in Georgia to an audience of about a third of the US.
