I seriously do not know where to start with artsy stuff. Learn crochet first or knitting? Does it matter? idc I have executive dysfunction. How do I stop being afraid of using up paints and just freaking paint?!

Had a dream where Johnny from “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” came out as a trans woman and the response was so unanimously positive it reversed nearly all of the transphobic bills in the South. She played live in Georgia to an audience of about a third of the US.

I miss this place! I need to come here again. I’m getting back into witchcraft after a long period of depression/burn out/nightmare of executive dysfunction. I’m also learning how to knit, relearning crochet (which I learned the other day is French for hook!), learning to sew, and getting back into art. Plus all the arts and crafts can easily tie into witchcraft! Once I get the hang of knitting, as in once it becomes practically second nature, I want to learn tatting. I may wait on the sewing until I have crochet and knitting down, or get the hang of knitting, then sewing, then crochet. It depends on if I can manage learning different string things simultaneously.
Wooo! Motivation <i>with</i> executive function (mostly)!!

In joining some exvangelical subforums and groups as well as following TST I’ve learned something I wouldn’t have despite having read that damn book countless times during my childhood and adolescence; Psalms is a freaking book of spells. I find this way too hilarious. I mean, there’s already sooooo much magic in it, but I have got to re-read Psalms soon 😂

Heyyyyy, I’m back. -ish. Mental health is going up! Recovery isn’t linear so it’s still a rollercoaster but I am getting better! Finding a queer, inclusive feminist, pagan, neuropsychologist therapist is The Absolute Freaking Best. I’m able to be social more, BS and asshats rarely faze me anymore. I’m more outspoken and challenging for what’s right and absolutely intolerant of the evils of the world - micro aggressions to g*n*cide (idk how much get censored here and I don’t want to get kicked).
A lot of my progress I owe to fanfic, honestly. What my comfort characters go through (canonically or not) and how they react, cope, and heal is validating, cathartic, and/or insightful. My therapist is super helpful too though: with the psychological aspects, actually learning me and not just jotting down a lost of traumas, and explaining how experiences of different kinds are processed at different ages/stages of development and stuff. So fascinating! Nerdgasms galore!
Random: I discovered the name for my aesthetic! Whimsigothic! Add a touch of Hobbit and it’s perfection!

I’ve been contemplating suggesting my sister and her fiancée to combine last names like a ship. My favorite is Humer. I could make SO MANY JOKES!! I only have until mid-January to convince them
I knew a couple who got engaged, and when talking about name changes, it transpired that neither of them liked their current surnames.
so they picked out a new name together, and I think about that often

still thinking of this one lady on the subway whose leg tattoos included a mermaid skeleton, a skeleton gogo dancer, and what appeared to be a swarm of flesh eating fish feasting on the earthly remains of a skeleton scuba diver. I feel like I learned something

I vote that more hero/arch nemesis duos should be divorced-with-children. I want to see a cgi heavy superpowered action scene take place against a backdrop of custody & visitation negotiations.

I’m sure a lot of folks know this but it was news to me -
If you or someone you know uses Braille, the Tarot Garden looks like they offer a brailling service that will let you pick a deck and have it brailled in either contracted and uncontracted braille.
They also keep a few braille decks of Rider-Waite on hand.
I’ve been having some vision issues which are fairly normal for my family but scary to me. I’ve been worried what the impact would be on my ability to read cards so I’ve been teaching myself to sight read braille to start and I’m gonna try touch training when I’m able.
Knowing there are places that braille tarot cards and you have options as far as decks - that’s really reassuring to me.

A brief summary of how user engagement is tracked on Tumblr, for the newcomer:
When you like or reblog a post, that counts as user engagement for the person you liked or reblogged from, and shows up in their notifications.
If the person you liked or reblogged a post from wasn’t the original poster (i.e., you’re liking or reblogging a reblog), it also counts as user engagement for the original poster, and shows up in their notifications as well.
This means that user engagement from your likes and reblogs can potential accrue to two different people, the original poster and the person you liked or reblogged from.
Consequently, you cannot “steal” user engagement from someone by reblogging their post.
This is one of the very few areas where Tumblr is actually functions more reasonably than other social media platforms.
Note that this is only true if you use Tumblr’s built-in reblogging function. If you save someone else’s content to your local device and append it to a new post, you effectively become the original poster from that point on.
This means that on Tumblr, “reblogging” and “reposting” are two different things; if you see someone complaining about “reposting”, this is not the same as reblogging.
Commenting when reblogging does not affect any of this – unlike, say, Twitter, where quote-retweeting causes user engagement to accrue to the quote-retweet and not to the original tweet – and you can and should do so freely.
However, every Tumblr user can see who exactly you reblogged a post from, which functions as a soft disincentive against making inane comments; if you make a dumb comment on a reblog, people who see your reblog may “back up” one step in the reblog chain to reblog a version of the post without your comment.
Nobody understands tags, and there’s a fair amount of evidence that how tags work changes periodically and without warning.
Tags are a divine mystery.
