Imagine, for a moment, a mistake. One of the Hex, or several, are seriously wounded or killed. The Drifter pushes time back, demanding it bend to their will as they reforge the reality of the last several seconds... then the last few minutes... longer still with each attempt until an exhausted, desperate mind decrees: Begin. Again.

And they do. The spiral resets. January 1st dawns again. But something went wrong. The Drifter, utterly spent after their extensive efforts to find a better way, walks out of the Backroom and into the mall to apologize for whatever happened and is greeted by suspicious stares. They do not remember. The Drifter's heart drops from their chest as the icy realization strikes.

This was not supposed to happen.

Tears blur the edges of their vision as they turn to leave, gaze fixed on their once-partner before their grief forces them to tear themselves away. Eleanor stares at them with an odd expression as they retreat. The wave of anguish is impossible to miss.

I've been itching to do a painterly illustration, so I had to naturally paint the blorbo 💜⚡

I started this a week ago and have been working on it live on Twitch as a project idea for the On-Lyne glyph campaign but finished it sooner than I expected!

Had to create a tribute to the beautiful cinematic we got for our best boy! Also used this as a chance to experiment further with the brushier style to add more detail.
