       Yugi doesn’t even flinch– How far he’s come, to not coil away from scathing words that aren’t even scathing, perhaps just slightly harsh in their tone, when in the past he might’ve started to cry. He preoccupies himself with false productivity, pulling a crumb off the table and pushing it towards Ramen as the little rodent sniffs around the surface in search of something to snack on. 

              House guests could be so rude sometimes. Yugi tries not to take it to heart.

              “Then get out of my apartment.                        And tell Kaiba to stop giving out my address, please. ”

              Yugi wanted to be the bigger person. He wants to be the cheery friend, wants his response to be something along the lines of ‘’its okay!’’, something to show forgiveness, something to pretend he has forgiveness--

       … He’s not sure why he’s crying.

              Tears just sort of well up within the few silent moments after Ryou says those words and with them comes shame, and indiscernible form of distress- sadness? anger? a mix of both, maybe. Salty and bitter and upset.

       “I…” he swallows hard, rubs at his eyes because honestly, there’s no reason to be crying right now, but he’s never been too good at keeping tears in, “I know I wasn’t a great friend,” he’s assuming. Silence can’t tell you what you’ve done wrong, “I just wish you would’ve told me- Us- We were all so worried about you...” So many deleted messages asking Kaiba to help find Ryou, because if anyone could find him surely it’d be Seto, but-- 

              “...Just....                      Tell me what I did wrong.. ”
