“Did she?” he asked as his attention returned to Sam, raising his eyebrows slightly. Before Sam could say anything Carissa chimed in about how she wanted to find the perfect costume and couldn’t decide on just one so she went with a few more than intended. This caused him to laugh, giving her a small head shake. She seemed fun from what he’d seen and Sam was usually smiling whenever she was around. Which was hard not to do because she carried such a fun attitude about things.
Stevie nodded after Sam spoke and said. “I’ll take care of Jessie when I get in. Maybe take her to that park I hang around at.”Hopefully he’ll see that girl he was interested in though she’s not been around lately. “Are we eating dinner together or should I get something on my own?”
sam
"You’re the best, thanks.” Sam shifted his weight from one foot to the next as he glanced over at Carissa for a second before turning his attention back to his brother. “I already got plans, we got plans so you’re on your own tonight. Sorry.” Sam felt a little bit bad about not being home with dinner because of the last minute plan of getting pizza and spending some more time with Carissa but he hoped Stevie would understand.
“I’ll make it up to you later, make a pot roast or something. Alright?”

CJ: “So-orry.” She drags the word out just a little. “I didn’t know if you changed your mind and wanted to be a punk.” She laughs at this and taps the screen again.
CJ: “Oh thank God. I didn’t think I’d be able to keep up with the overs.”
CJ: “Do you think there are people who take the whole Christmas in July seriously and use that time to buy their presents?”
SJ: He taps the screen just as he snorts at her remark. "I'm so--o punk. I'd make having a mohawk be cool again." he laughs.
SJ: "Can you imagine what it be like trying to have sexy times over this app... bend over. Bend what? over." He laughs loudly at his own joke.
SJ: "That is a real thing? Christmas in July? Hmm, maybe. I mean, it does save you from long lines and stores running out of stock."

He meant to leave as soon as he saw his brother and Carissa together. Stevie didn’t want to interrupt the cozy scene he found them in but as soon as he was about to leave he was distracted by one of those creepy sound fx cds and decided he needed it for their haunted house. The purchase didn’t take long but Stevie thought he was in the home stretch by the time he reached his car.
He wasn’t.
Stevie heard his brother’s voice and looked up, feigning surprise. Stevie raised his hand in greeting and knew he couldn’t just leave. He tossed the cd into the car and walked over to them; Sam bombarded with bags. “Busy shopping trip?” he asked with a smile before saying hi to Carissa.
sam
“Super busy... never knew it takes forever to find the right costumes for Halloween,” Sam replied, nodding his head into Cairssa’s direction as he continued talking. “that one, took forever trying it all on.” He smiled while watching Stevie say hi to Carissa. It felt good to see them interact so easily with each other.
“Not sure what time I'm going to be home,” Sam informed his brother, again readjusting the bags he was carrying. He was already planning to drop the bags in his car as soon as possible so he had his hands free and no bags would get lost while getting pizza and going to that spot Carissa talked about.

who: Carissa Weston & Sam Evans where: All over town when: october 12th, afternoon/evening warnings: none at the moment
carissa
“Good! Once I get pizza on the brain then I have a hard time able to concentrate on anything else.” There was something about Sam which brought out this playfully flirty side to Carissa. She was pretty bad to begin with but his reactions were so fun and sweet and he had this smile she couldn’t get enough of. And that blush…Yeah, this was a little too much fun for her but she hoped he didn’t mind it because she did enjoy spending time with him.
After she dressed Carissa picked up her purse and pulled her wallet so it was ready to check out. As she got to the counter her arm went around Sam’s waist and she gave him a little side hug while laying a gentle kiss on his arm. She already felt so at ease with him when it came to these little motions. “Thanks,” she pulled her credit card out and handed it over to the cashier after everything was rung up. Carissa was about to ask about the Tinkerbell costume and if she could put it on hold but the woman behind the counter asked her about the choices she picked and Carissa excitedly talked about this, trying not to make the conversation go as long as it took her to pick them all out.
“You probably had no idea how long I can take getting things done,” she said to him as they walked outside of the costume shop, Carissa looking towards Sam with a smile. There was a brief moment when she thought she saw someone who looked liked him in the distance but what were the chances of that? It must be her eyes playing tricks on her. “So. Pizza and maybe beer? There’s this trail that’s not too far from here and they have a little picnic area.”
sam
Without even thinking about it Sam draped his arm over Carissa’s shoulder and tugged her a little closer to his side as she gave him that side hug and kissed his arm. He felt that little tingle run through his body again when he tugged her closer. At first, it had confused him, it wasn’t a feeling he was used to feeling when he was with someone, but it hadn’t been unpleasant and he was slowly figuring it out what it all meant. Why he was always happy to see her, talk to her, hang out with her.
He patiently waited for Carissa to finish her talk with the girl at the cash register. One of the things he loved about her was her ability to talk to anybody so he just listened and chuckled every now and then when she said something funny. “Nope, but I know now. Next time I’m bringing a comic with me so I got something to do,” he teased as he adjusted the bags he was carrying for her. Just before they rounded a corner Sam thought he saw a glimpse of his brother "Hey Stevie!” He had called out to him before he was able to stop himself.
Ooh. Yeah... that sounds pretty awesome... we should totally do that.” Sam replied as he glanced down at Carissa, a sheepish smile curling up the corner of his lips. “Sorry, force of habit,” he explained his calling out to Stevie to say hi.

CJ: lets out a little gasp at the nickname and presses the talk button. “I’m not short! I like to think I’m the perfect height.”
CJ: “Over over.” She laughs at this. “It sounds like a book or something.”
CJ: “I’m not up to too much. Trying to decide when it’s too early to go Christmas gift shopping. Over.”
SJ: rolls his eyes. "I meant that in the cute nickname way. And hey! I'm the one who told you you're the perfect height for you."
SJ: "Over!" he chuckles "We can drop the over if that works better."
SJ: "August is too early.. so you're good."

CJ: Over.
CJ: I always forget to say that.
CJ: Gah! Over!
SJ: *chuckles* Hey, shorty. I just started dinner.
SJ: What about you? over.
SJ: It gets confusing sometimes. especially when what you're saying ends with over... over.
SJ: Hear what I mean? over.

CARISSA: If the situation was as bad as it was then those options wouldn't have paid as much. Not quickly at least. Of course, Sam! I know I can get kinda pervy (I laughed too at the kinda) but I also picked up from your story that this wasn't something you really wanted to do. That's why I shifted the way I was acting about it. Are things good with your parents now? I know Stevie and Scott are with you but what about your younger sister? She still at home? I hope your parents are in a much comfortable financial situation. And your family totally has you and your brother to thank for that!
CARISSA: I actually teared up some while thinking about living during a time like that. Especially when my home life was pretty well off. If we ever had financial struggles then I never heard about it.
CARISSA: Alright! I was good-ish behavior then! Be as honest with me as you like! I want to hear all about what you're thinking. Especially when it comes to me. ☺️
CARISSA: We're going to load up on so much candy. omg. I can already feel myself getting hyper and I haven't even had that much sugar today!!
CARISSA: Should I meet you at your house or you come to my place?
SAM: (😜 those are your words, not mine, ha. But yeah you can drop the kinda in front of the pervy) It wasn't but it wasn't all a bad experience. It really helped me with my confidence back then and kinda helped me decide to take the leap and be a model for a while. Plus the guys that worked there were fun to hang out with. And it helped pay the bills. So it wasn't all bad. Yeah, my parents are much better of right now. The house they got is paid for so they never have to worry about losing it. Stacey? She's here in San Fran as well. Going to college, making her big brothers proud. 😊😊
SAM: *hands tissues* there-there, no need to tear up. All turned out alright.
SAM: Yeah, good-ish behavior works. I'm trying to, still figuring things out myself but as soon as I have it all figured out I'll do just that, be honest. Not that I am right now, cause I am. And I'm so not making any sense right now. But I'm being super honest when I say I really like you, I love spending time with you and I wouldn't stop you if you did try to kiss me.
SAM: I can come to your place and be there around 4.

Jeff: you don't do hookups? I feel like your apart of the rare few, I think I met someone that day we went back to her place, same thing with another good looking gentleman I met.
Jeff: sometimes you just have to get on to get down.
SAM: Oh, that's too bad. I wouldn't dream of it :P What about twister?
SAM: Yeah, unfortunately, things work like that for me. I seriously need to know someone way better before any sexy times happen. That, or be stupidly drunk. But who wants that, right?

Wink Message😉: Mercedes and Sam
Mercy: I guess we see things differently like that. I am all about encouraging people whether it be a pat on the back or a smile, or a letter.
Mercy: It was more to my advantage I guess you can say, I wanted to prove, still want to prove that this wasn't a mistake. That I wasn't a mistake.
Mercy: People get stupid around this time of year up until the new year. I tend to work in the ER more than not just to help around. You have a twin? That is really cool. I bet you both double team your younger siblings to keep them out of trouble? at least that is what I would do. I have two other siblings. Both younger than me.
Mercy: honestly as cool as that would be I still love their company. I can see myself being great friends with them just not dating since i am not their type. But also yeah I hope to find at least one guy I can hang out with.
SAM: Can you stop putting words in my mouth I never said! I'm all about encouraging my students, encouraging them to find their passion. Like I told you before. I was saying I disagree with you on what you called 'pushing them to be the best'
SAM: Stop thinking like that. Nobody is a mistake. And I think you have proven to any and all of your classmates back in med-school and all the doctors you worked with that you got every right to be there.
SAM: I doubt people getting stupid this time of year has to do with the Holidays but more with the shortening of the days.
SAM: Yeah, being a twin rocks. Well, not all the time. Sometimes you got to have them make their own mistakes and all. Don't get me wrong, that is really hard to do sometimes but it's the best way to learn for them. But yeah, most of the time we try to keep an eye on them and try to keep them out of trouble.
SAM: How did the non-date go? Did you have fun at the bar?

STEVIE: I think October 30th is the eve. If we're to go by Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as examples. I'll get in touch with her soon. By tomorrow at the latest.
STEVIE: Thanks Sam for listening and not getting tired of me constantly talking about it.
STEVIE: Okay. That was a bit TMI but I'm glad you made a game out of it. Have you played that game with anyone else?
SAM: Yeah, if you look at it that way than it would have been the 30th. So what d you think... doing this whole haunted house thing again next year?
SAM: You're welcome, Stevie. I don't think I could ever get tired of you talking about this. It's clearly something that is on your mind a lot and I just want to try and help you the best way I can. Even when it's just listening and giving bad advice. :P
SAM: Sorry! And nope, can't say I have. Tho there is someone I kinda feel I want to ask if they want to play it. But if they say no it would make things totally awkward and might even screw things up. Don't want that to happen.

CARISSA: Wow. I had a feeling it was because money was needed. But I thought it was something in the line of school debt not at all to help your family. That's so much to go through at 16. Does talking about that time bring back bad memories? Like the types of things you and your brother went through? If it does then I won't bring it up again. Unless you want to talk about it. I don't want anything we talk about ever to be something you dread discussing.
CARISSA: Oh..God. That sounds about right with me. I'm surprised I didn't try get into your pants. Well. I'm all for some more time with you! Not just because I can't stop thinking about kissing you but because I love spending time together! Also!!! We need to do something! Halloween is basically over but that means lots of sales on candy!!
SAM: Huh, you know... a lot of guys that worked there were doing it to pay off student loans, so totally get why you would think that. Not really. I mean sometimes it does but we did what we felt like we had to do back then and stepped up and helped our parents out. A paper route and delivering pizzas might have been better to do, cause who in their right mind takes a job as a stripper at 16? I had a kick-ass fake id back in those days ;) But anyway, we needed the money or we might have been kicked out of our house so it was worth it. But yeah, looking back, it's not a career I would advise anyone to take. And thank you for being that considered.
SAM: Ummm, let's go with that, yes. You didn't try to get into my pants. Me too! I like spending my time with you. You really think about that? About kissing me I mean? Can I be super honest? I don't think I would stop you if you did.
SAM: We so do!!! Want to go discounted candy shopping tomorrow after I'm finished with work?
