SUMMARY:
Due to the epidemic this semester, we can only have online classes. It was difficult to take online classes at first, but I got used to them later. Although I took online courses this semester, I learned a lot about communication design, such as typesetting and printing. The learning process is painful, the harvest process is happy. Not only did I learn a lot in class and lectures, but I also learned a lot in the process of doing my homework. I will study harder and learn more knowledge next term.

WEEK12:
This week I studied academic integrity awareness and fact checking. Unfortunately, I only passed the fact checking course. Academic integrity refers to the commitment to and performance of honest and ethical behavior in an academic environment. This is most relevant at the university level, where it is necessary to acknowledge the contributions of others or it will be considered plagiarism. Since the preparatory courses, I have learned reference and Bibliography. I passed many small tests, but failed the final one, and I was confused. Another course is fact checking, the act of verifying information in nonfictional texts to determine their accuracy and correctness. Research on the effects of fact-checking is relatively new, but existing research suggests that fact-checking does indeed correct perceptions among citizens and deter politicians from spreading false or misleading claims. Through the study of this course, I have learned some methods of checking facts.

WEEK1:
Due to the travel ban, I was unable to make it to school for the first two weeks, so I reviewed some of the content on CANVAS. This week's theme is what is design. When it comes to design, in a larger dimension, many people confuse art with design. In fact, art is more about self-expression, while design is user-centered, solving problems for users, which requires rationality and logic, and you can't be a good designer if you just draw. Studying design, art, and technology is actually a positive energy that gives us a positive awareness of the world and then changes it.

WEEK2:
This week's talk is about what the design is made of. I think design equals artistic creation plus problem solving. As everyone understands it, design is intuitively described in terms of a linear model: that is, from defining the problem to solving it. Defining a problem is the analytic process, which refers to finding the problem and understanding every detail, identifying all the needs that need to be met; solving a problem is the synthetic process, which refers to integrating those needs and balancing the interests of all parties to produce a final solution that can guide actual production. And in fact, on the one hand design is not a linear process, the process of having an inspiration in the designer's brain does not require any linear analysis or reasoning, after having enough information, a lot of ideas will naturally pop up in our brain. If one wants to explain design in one more sentence, design is the conception and planning of man-made things; if not satisfied, design is the conception and planning of man-made things in order to solve difficult problems in human interaction.

WEEK3:
This week I studied Scribal histories from around the world, and I learned that writing has played an important role in social life at every stage of human history. Since humans began to walk upright, hominids have formed language-based social groups that are distinct from other living things. And an important mark that distinguishes modern Homo sapiens is primarily a globalized society based on writing. Where writing was once the preserve of a few people throughout history, it is now in the hands of 85% of the world's population - about 5 billion people. I also learned that the entire human society is based on words. In ancient Egypt there were a variety of writing styles, some very ornate, some decorative, but some simple or plain. The purpose of each document determines the writing style to be used.

WEEK4:
This week I learned about Gutenberg and the beginning of printing technology. It made me understand that if the printing press had never been invented, there would be no books, magazines in life today. The printing press allows us to share large amounts of information quickly and in large quantities. It has dramatically changed the way society develops. Gutenberg already had experience with the Mint, and he realized that if a block cutter could be used on the machine, it would make the printing process faster. Even better, he will be able to copy text in large numbers. Instead of using blocks of wood, Gutenberg used metal. Since metal living words can be moved to create new words and sentences, this is called a "moving machine". Today, the Gutenberg Bible has become an incredibly valuable object because of its historical heritage. I also studied BLACKLETTER. and then in class I also learned some terms used to describe parts of the alphabet and tried to apply them to descriptions of different fonts. We also discuss the functions and differences between leading, cornering and tracking.

WEEK5:
This week I learned about the industrialization of printing and its systems. Printing was first used by people to make printed matter using roller seals, mainly for decoration and witchcraft. In the process of rapid development of electronic technology, printing has entered the period of electronic control and automation. Electronic typesetting, electronic color separation and electronic engraving have been widely used, which have greatly improved the quality and efficiency of printing. The application of the computer continues to bring printing into the era of digital printing, enabling the smooth realization of small variety and multi-change printing which is difficult to complete by traditional technology. I also learned about space, grid and layout. The organization of the space is the key to every good design. Spatial systems, grids, and layouts provide rules that give your design a consistent rhythm, limit decision-making, and help the team stay consistent. Spatial systems define size and spacing rules, and grids help you arrange content into structured propositions. Early print designers used grids to organize text blocks and images into pleasing visual hierarchies that improved readability. With the development of design, the same basic principles still apply to the two-dimensional organization of information.

WEEK6:
This week's lecture describes the relationship between people and machines in design. Traditional designs usually involve a master-slave relationship between a person and a machine, in which the person directly controls what the machine will do and when it will do it through an interface. The current prototype path consists of controlling the machine directly from the human based on the information displayed and still directing the machine, then automating the request using predefined instructions. Rapid advances in technology make it possible now or in the near future for machines to reach a level of intelligence that allows systems to perform tasks/tasks without the need for specific predefined instructions. Thus gaining the status of non-human autonomous agent. Now, the process of human-computer interface technology has changed from information system to automation, then to autonomous agent, and essentially from the master-servant relationship to the teammate. This makes our designers' workload better and allows us to spend more time on design.

WEEK7:
This week I learned about Bauhaus design. In the theory of design, Bauhaus put forward three basic ideas: (1) the new unity of art and technology: (2) the purpose of design is people, not products; (3) the design must follow the laws of nature and objectivity. These views have played a positive role in the development of industrial design, making modern design gradually move from idealism to realism, which USES rational and scientific ideas to replace artistic self-expression and romanticism. The word "BauHaus" is a combination of the German verb "bauen" for architecture and the noun "haus", roughly translated as "school for architecture", reflecting the ideas of its founders. It has long been called the most influential and controversial art school of the 20th century, when it was the center of utopian thought and spirit. It has created the educational philosophy of modern design and achieved undisputed excellence in the theory and practice of art education. The course of Bauhaus is the course of the birth of modern design, and the course of building a bridge between art and mechanical technology, which are very different from each other. Whether in architecture, fine arts, industrial design, Bauhaus occupies a dominant position.

WEEK8:
This week I learned about constructivism and vortexism. The Russian language of constructivism is Konstruktivizm, an art and architecture movement initially influenced by cubism and futurism. One of the instructions it contains is to "build" art. Thanks to admiration for machinery and technology, functionalism, and modern industrial materials such as plastics, steel, and glass. The visual art of vortex theory emphasizes abstraction and sharpness, showing the influence of cubism and futurism. I also learned about futurism. It emphasizes speed, technology, youth, violence and things like cars, airplanes and industrial cities. Futurists practice art in all its fields, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, urban design, theater, film, fashion, textiles, literature, music, architecture, and even cooking. Art deco, constructivism, surrealism, dada, and, to a greater extent, precisionism, Rayonism, eddy-ism.

WEEK9:
This week I learned about the design of punk culture. "Resistance" is the message conveyed by punk music from the very beginning, and it also shapes the expression of punk culture in a broader sense. The poster was created by graphic designer Peter savile to promote Joy Division's debut album. It is based on the "recorded continuous waves of pulsars" discovered by band member Berbard Sumner in an astronomy textbook. Savile "reversed" the colours in the original image to bring out the darker atmosphere created by the album's timbre. More recently, the design has been elevated to iconic status. You can find its derivative, "joyplot," in the field of digital visualization. The new approach creates a continuous, nearly straight image that creates a "mountain on top of mountain" look. Long before the advent of computers, punk images featured by "raw amateurism" liberated graphic design and began to move toward "deskillization". What's more important here is that punk has promoted a more democratic and open way of cultural production. "the development of picture novels, alternative music stations and street fashion has something to thank punk for."

WEEK 10
I studied art and design this week. I learned that both design activism and artistic activism have an aesthetic potential to open up the relationship between what people do and what they feel -- the relationship between what they do and what they feel. I also learned about colors magazine.Themed editions have included “Sports”, “Marriage”, “Smoking”, “Water”, “HIV/AIDS”, “Teenagers” and “Dance” amongst many others, all communicating with the humour, unconventional approach to photography and design and off-kilter intelligence that Colors is still known for today. And I learnt about Adbusters. Adbusters describes itself as "a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of the information age."

week11 This week's lecture addresses parameterized and generative design practices, data visualization, and how communication design in general can be transformed through emerging technologies such as machine learning and A.I. A.I. has a huge impact on design. In this year's International Robotic Art Competition, Canadian artist Joanne Hastie won the fifth place. In fact, the drawing method of artificial intelligence was programmed by her, not created by the artificial intelligence itself. These three pictures are then fed into a computer, and the ai draws them out one by one. For hundreds of years, art has been created by human minds, so she thought it would be best to create her own ideas and let artificial intelligence draw them out. But in the future, artificial intelligence will not only be able to draw ideas, it will also be able to create them.
