There were half a dozen new cults forming every week, a dozen more attempting to make a name for themselves, and still hundreds hiding in obscurity. On top of the ones busted and arrested for various crimes or world ending schemes, Cults would be the one enemy the Justice League would never truly defeat.

Like pests, when you thought you'd dealt with one a new one would crawl out of the woodwork. It would seem, after thrawting the last world ending disaster, the Justice League had been caught off guard by yet another Cult.

They'd gone missing, one after another, the Cult even turned their search for their teammates against them. Now, they were all tied up with a glowing green rope, sitting in seats of an abandoned observatory, while a cult of occult scientists bustled around them.

"Have the runes been drawn?" The lady in charge asked.

"Yes Commander!" A young man said. "We even gathered the sacrifices for the ritual, ready whenever you are Ma'am,"

The 'Commander' looked over the tied up Heroes, a smirk on her lips. Her hazel eyes seized them up, from Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, to Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, before settling on Captain Marvel.

"Even the Champion of Magic?" She made her way through the aisle. "I'm sure the King will be delighted to receive you." Marvel cringed away from the woman's touch, trying to twist out of the glowing rope, to no avail. "I'm sure you've all tried to escape, but as you've noticed these ropes are special. They're coated in Ectoplasm, a purified form of..oh what's it called?"

"Lazarus Water," the young man said.

"Yes, that." The woman made her way toward the center of the room." You see, we've confirmed that those pits, and the so called magical effects of bathing in them, can be measured with science."

Batman would've been impressed if he wasn't tied up, or been referred to as a sacrifice.

"By using magic and science together, we've unlocked truths of the universe never before explored by the living. We've discovered-"

"The afterlife?" Wonder Woman asked. As an Amazon, she's been captured by Cults attempting to summon Hades before. If this was some kind of ritual to summon the Greek Gods they'd have a serious issue.

"Oh, nothing so predictable." The Cult Commander said. "The Infinite Realms is far more vast than just the afterlife. And I shall use you, Heroes, to summon the King and make first contact on behalf of our Universe. I've been studying, I spent years creating the perfect environment to summon the King."

"And an abandoned observatory is the perfect environment?" Superman asked.

"King Phantom is known as the Ancient of Space, space and the universe exists because he adores it so much. I've been told he is a perfectly balanced existence, and while I don't until what that means, I made the ritual Circle perfectly symmetrical. And now, I shall use you, people who represent everything the King is, wants, or needs, to bring him into our world."

Men and woman in lab coats escorted the Heroes into the ritual circle.

"Batman, to represent a Father," the Commander said. "Wonder Woman, to represent a Mother,"

Batman stood across from Wonder Woman. He watched as their escorts stepped back to watch, positioned around computer tables or holding clipboards.

"Superman and Martian Manhunter, to represent aliens living on Earth," the Commander said. " then Green Lantern, a Human working in Space,"

"Its like liquid Kryptonite," Superman said. "I've never noticed the pits weakening me before, whatever they did..."

"I'll get the data off their systems before we leave," Batman promised.

"Aquaman, a King," The Commander continued. "And then, Captain Marvel, right in the center. As Champion of Magic, you should be able to power an interdimensional portal with ease right?"

The ritual was like any other, chating and flashing lights and magic heavy in the air.

But then it was done, nothing happened...except there was a teenager in Captain's arms, with glowing hotdogs bouncing on him and tangled in his hair. The teen rolled out of the Marvel's arms, grabbed a hot dog that was biting his shirt, and tore it off. "You're not scary," he said, before shoving the hotdog into his mouth.

"Viva la Revolutíon!" The other hotdogs cried.

The boy, black hair and glowing blue eyes, just kept snatching the attacking hotdogs and viciously tearing them apart with his teeth.

The boy didn't even look up until the last one was eaten.

"Sorry about that, lunch got rowdy. You know how it is," The boy said looking around the ritual circle. "So, what's up?"

So while being stuck down the dcdp rabbit hole that I cannot emerge from despite the fact that I don’t read the dc comics and I have not seen Danny phantom I had a thought. I’ve seen several fics and prompts where Danny is summoned and is all spooky or regal and that’s great great but what if Danny was in the middle of dealing with the reanimated hotdogs? A cult with some heroes tied up ready to summon the ghost king and they get this scrangly teen stumbling about with a hotdog in his hair, on his face, several on his hands, and one on his leg all biting and scratching and it’s a real mess. This teen doesn’t even seem to realize that he has been summoned he’s too focused on the Hot Dogs who are yelling “Viva la Revolucíon!”

Hey, does anyone know where I can find that one prompt about alternate timeline versions of the robins all dying young, finding each other in the ghost zone, and working for Danny? I’m feeling inspired, I just wanna make sure I get all the details right (as well as give credit to the original poster)

i think it's kind of insulting to anakin as a character when people pose him as a perpetual victim of everyone around him instead of a very powerful, very intelligent man who was responsible for his own actions.

i've noticed that a lot of diehard "anakin did nothing wrong" people very deliberately try to erase his agency and portray him as much less intelligent and capable than he actually is. the thing is, we know that's not the case! anakin was incredibly intelligent and successful and admired long before he became vader. he had a deep understanding of jedi philosophy, even if he was unwilling to apply it. we know this, not just from his explanations to padme and ahsoka about what jedi do and why, but from how good he is at killing jedi. anakin could hunt them down better than anyone else in the empire because HE USED TO BE ONE and he could predict exactly how they would behave based on their worldview, ethics, way of life, etc. he just didn't want to behave that way himself. he is the most dangerous person in the galaxy not just because he's powerful, but because he's SMART and he knows his enemy. he might have anger issues, but he's also very calculating and a "cunning warrior." the only one who could send him into a blind rage was obi-wan, but he learned from that and shaped his fury into a weapon he could use to devastating effect. vader was able to kill obi-wan because he learned from his mistakes; he was able to manipulate luke into almost falling multiple times. anakin in the OT is a man who has spent two decades honing his craft as a highly successful, extremely powerful sith. he is in control of himself and his actions, and that's why he's such a formidable villain.

so it kind of rubs me the wrong way when people say that he was always a fragile mess that the jedi order fucked up, or that he was palpatine's helpless puppet. i don't think anakin was traumatized by having occasional disagreements with the council. if that were the case, qui-gon and obi-wan would have both fallen long before he did. anakin was a powerful force user who disagreed with the council and vocalized it, not a bullying victim. i don't think obi-wan is responsible for all his choices, because that implies anakin traded being watto's slave in favor of being obi-wan's, when the whole point is that he chose to become a jedi as an assertion of his own freedom and personhood. palpatine might have thought that anakin was his attack dog, but anakin PROVED HIM WRONG and once again destroyed his chains by defying sidious in favor of love and compassion. his story ends with him embracing the jedi way, saving his son, and being reunited with his old teachers in the Force.

anakin chose to die as a jedi, just like he had once chosen to live as a sith. the power to make those choices was always HIS, not the council's or obi-wan's or palpatine's, because his story and the galaxy at large were always shaped, ultimately, by his choices.

Did it... take a while for people to start using your prompts and story ideas? A friend started some, so far people are just liking the prompts.

They are debating whether to write little snippets to their own prompts to get the ball rolling.

Oh definitely!

This may be my biggest blog but it’s certainly not my first!

The best way I found for people to start to interact with your blog is to interact with other people’s posts.

I started this one with adding to other people’s posts. Even if they were nothing more than a funny quip.

What you help go around, comes around and all that.

Snippets would help but be ready for people to ask for more.

This kind of thing takes time and a bit of luck with picking people’s intrigue.

Most of my prompts don’t even get added on by others.

For every prompt I put out that someone adds too there’s ten prompts in the past that though make me feel equally happy with how they turned out, don’t get past 500 notes.

I’m happy for the hauntlings I’ve curated over these last few months.

Your friend has plenty of time do so too.

Hell we don’t have anything other than time on this hellsite.

Fandom Batman

Thought:

Bruce Wayne owns a lot of buildings in Gotham. Batman crashes into a lot of Gotham buildings during his Rouge fights. Rouge Attacks also destroy a lot of buildings too.

Wayne Enterprises trademarks the Batman name and Logo to sell Merchandise. The Vigilante can't sue because then he would need to reveal himself, so he wrecks another Wayne Enterprises building.

There is Batman and Robin Merchandise everywhere in Gotham.

Batman is anti-capitalist and hates Beuce Wayne.

Bruce Wayne is profiting off his most destructive hater.

Danny would be starting his sophomore year with Danielle. The Fenton Portal was destroyed in the explosion, and Vlad actually closed his portal when he wasnt actively using it. He wasnt sure what to expect of a year without ghost attacks, much less attending a private school.

Sam, at least, would be transfering with him. Tucker, unfortunately, couldn't afford the tuition.

Amity Park Private High School was vastly different than Casper High. Uniforms, for one, and a strict expectation of excellence, preparing the students for their future careers before they even picked their college or university.

Danny wasn't surprised by his class list. Bussiness, Management, Engineering, Economics, everything he'd need to be Heir to Vlad's corporate empire.

Dani's list wasnt much better. Dance, Gymnastics, Health & Beauty, it was like she was being prepped to be a trophy wife.

Danny glanced through the list and realized, that probably exactly what was happening.

"Tools," Sam said. "That's all we are to them,"

Sam's list was an odd blend of the 'twins' lists.

"I'm expected to both inherit the company and marry well," Sam waved her crumpled list. "So wifey classes and business classes."

"This is so messed up," Dani groaned.

Danny wanted to be angrier about this, summer had just started and they had two and a half months before school started again, but it was hard to feel anything for any notable length of time.

He couldn't remember the last conversation he had with his parents.

Had it been a fight? Did he tell them he loved them? Did he hug his Mom? Did his Dad squeeze his shoulder? When had it been, their last conversation? If he had known that was the last time he'd ever see them again-

"Which is why I'll have to wash the dye out,"

Danny blinked. "Die?"

"Hair dye," Sam said. "My Dad's blond, and my mother a red head. You really think my hair is naturally black?"

"Your Grandmother could've had black hair,"

"Nope, blonde and ginger are recessive genes. Didn't you read any of the notes on genetics Tucker and I made you last year?"

"...there's a square and the letters match up and that's somehow dna math?"

Sam groaned, half choking on a laugh as she shook her head.

"I'm blonde, Danny. I've been dying my hair black and purple since middle school."

"Why can't you keep doing that?"

"Because AP Private has a strict dress code, including hair dye regulations."

"...is purple your actual eye color?"

" No Danny," Sam said. "Purple is not typically a natural eye color."

"...do you wear contacts?"

"Yep. Did you not know that? Tucker found out years ago."

"Didn't seem important? I don't know I never thought about it."

"Well, I'm blonde," Sam said. "And under my colored prescription contacts, my eyes are grey. I never liked the way I looked, which is why I did all the hair dying and contacts and piercings. I thought, if I was a blank canvas, how would I paint myself? And then I did,"

Days seemed to blend together that summer. It was so weird, living with Vlad. Danny had two cards, one debit and one credit. He knew Vlad was tracking his purchases, but he couldn't sleep in the lifeless room.

He redecorated it, from the ceiling full of stars to the the books on the shelves, he shopped until the cards were declined.

That was also the first time Vlad hit him.

It was different from their fights as Hero and Villain had been.

Before Danny could've fought back, or dodged, or even spat something snarky at the Fruitloop.

But Danny couldn't muster up the desire to dodge right now, much less anything else. Going intangible was more instinct than conscious thought, but Vlad was expecting that.

Danny lay in his room, his face stinging. This wasnt fair. This wasn't right. He rolled over and screamed into a pillow.

Vlad is a horrible awful person in this fic, murder, rape and recovery and associated issues. Jazz does not have a good time at all. None of them do actually.

I don't know what ships I'll use later, been thinking Jazz (18/19) & Jason(early 20s), Danny(15/16) & Tim(16/17), maybe Danielle & Conner? I'm open to suggestions as I flesh it out of course, there are so many characters in the DCU and itd be interesting to explore rarepairs.

Wasnt it supposed to be raining? Funerals were supposed to be dark and dreary, and it was supposed to rain so much no one would be able to tell if there were tears.

It was cloudy, sure, as it had been for the past week, but there wasnt a drop of rain in sight.

Last week, things were normal. He was finally getting used to his new normal since the portal incident, only for things to change again. He was at school when it happened. The end of the year assembly. He could remember exactly which part of the speech it was, Paulina was transferring from the football cheer team to the schools competitive cheer team and had to let everyone know. Then there was the distant sound of an explosion, and the ground shook.

A minute, then two, and fire trucks and police cars and ambulances raced past the school. A dozen or so minutes later and people were getting phone calls, the assembly canceled as everyone rushed to make sure their families and friends were safe. Then Jazz and Danny were called to the principal's office.

It was easy to find out what happened when he turned on his phone. "FentonWorks Explosion" summed it up, but the articles popping up about it all had something to say.

The FentonWorks Underground Lab exploded at 2:45pm this afternoon, killing both Doctors Fenton, and causing the house above to collapse inwards. No other residents of the neighborhood were killed, though the shock wave managed to break several items in the nearby houses, only minor injuries were reported.

Danny doesn't remember what happened after that very well though. He talked to a lot of people, CPS and the police and a reporter and doctors.

Somehow, Vlad had created a record for Danielle, she was legally recognized as his twin sister, and their interdimensional biology was reduced to a mere medical condition, that Vlad just so happened to have, which mad him the best guardian for the two orphaned Fentons since he was already guardian of the twin the Fentons had abandoned for whatever reason.

When Danny blinked, it was a week after the incident and now they're holding a funeral for his parents.

He wasn't sure how this could get worse honestly, but as he looked at Vlad he realized the worst was yet to come.

Danny wanted to be sick.

Vlad was looking at Jazz the same creepy way he looked at Mom.

i hate how you get desensitized to the cool stuff in your WIP if you've been writing it for a long time so when you read back over it you're like "this isn't as cool as i thought :(" but it still is! you just read it too many times

Jazz still meets Dick, because Damien worked too hard on this plan to just give up because of Todd.

Jazz has a moment of crisis because both of these men are attractive and she enjoys spending time with them, and she's definitely developing feelings for them.

She calls her brother, because there is nothing better than an outside perspective when you're getting stuck in your own head.

"Why not both?" Danny asks.

And Jazz nods. "I'll talk to them about it,"

It becomes a bit awkward when they explain they're technically family, in a vauge sense of the word, while trying not to reveal themselves as Vigilantes.

Jazz decides to volunteer at an animal shelter while attending Gotham University. It starts with the idea that it might help with her stress levels and help her focus better. It's not entirely effective, but she's found that it helps her feel better, more optimistic, and that's just as good.

It also gives her the chance to meet other people there. Like Damian Wayne. Not that he goes by that name there. But she has experience recognizing people who are trying to hide their identity (*cough cough* Danny *cough cough*).

He's dismissive and cold at first, remaining professional but doesn't seem interested in making friends. However, her big sister senses are tingling. He looks lonely. So she puts in effort to get to know him and help him feel comfortable around him. Damian is cautious, but eventually decides that a more friendly relationship with his co-volunteer was low risk and started to open up a bit

Eventually he learns more about her, things that intrigue him. She's a black belt with actual combat experience. She greatly cares for her family, particularly her brother. She is good with animals. She is intelligent, with both "book smarts" and "street smarts". Damian has to admit that he has become...fond of her.

The next family movie night, they watch Parents Trap.

Jasmine is a redhead. She is exactly Richard's type. And she is far more tolerable that any of his past romantic partners.

Perhaps the children in the movie had the right idea...

Damian starts planning their first meeting. If either of the two catch wind of what's going on everything he's done will crumble. This has to be perfect.

Tiniest DCXDP au nibblet before I go to bed:

The bat boys speak several languages. Which they fly into on a regular basis. Dick will go off into Romanian when he's being effectinate, Tim is angry in French, Jason rambles in Spanish and Damien mutters in latin.

(Cass also slips in and out of sign regularly and steph knows German but mostly just the swear words)

It happens enough there not phased by eachother doing it and are used to getting the general jist or rasing an eyebrow when whoever speaking is done and adding. "Okay. Now in English, please?"

Enter Danny who, since his death, has this bad habit of slipping into ghost speak when he's not concentrating for some resosen. Zoned out, angry, disinterested, excited, it's like when he died his first language became ghost speak and sometimes he forgets to translate before he talks.

After your usual 'getting adopted into the batfamily' hyjinx, Danny accidentally slips up in a passionate ramble about a picture NASA released or something. He catches himself and panics, only for whichever sibling he was talking at to roll there eyes and smile.

"English, Danny?"

He decides to do as they did and gloss over it but this is pre phantom reveal so he panics internally. Thing is, everyone else dose it to. Even Bruce. To the point that he stops thinking about it to.

It dosn't come up till Duke comes from a visit, Danny gose on an impassioned rant about the anti ecto laws in ghost speak and Duke turns 'round and asks what language he's actually speaking?? Because it dosnt sound like any languages he's heard????

Everyone turns because, hold on. That's a valid point! What language dose danny keep slipping in and out of??

This is a catalyst towards the reveal.

Also! Before that, everyone thought Danny was an impressive level of bilingual. He always seemed to know what everyone was saying, even when they weren't speaking English.

He isn't bilingual really, its more of a cheat code. It turns out getting crowned ghost king also grants you some kind of internal universal translator because Danny, simmilerly, didn't actually notice his new siblings spoke any other languages before Tim got annoyed and started ranting in French about how unreasonable Bruce was and how jason was trying his best and Danny was following his point completly before he looked over and saw Jason watching with just. A confused. Blank stare.

And then he shrugged to Danny and said "I'm sure whatever he's saying is a good point and I'd back him up, if he's say it in English, PLEASE-"

Which solidly clued Danny into the fact that Tim had, infact, not been speaking English

So Danny treats Jason's pit madness like an actual severe medical condition, that needs proper treatment and life style changes and support to get better.

One of my grandparents is considering dialysis for their condition and I thought the procedure sounded like it'd be angsty for a DC x dp fic.
