Honestly, she would’ve preferred anything else over this, but she did say she was willing to help with almost anything, cooking included—it was definitely too late to back out now. “Uh, alright...! But, um, you’re doing most of the cooking, right?” The thought of serving inedible food to her brother, a person she hasn’t met, really was getting to her.

It’s just that I’m kinda... sorta...” There really was no way to sweeten her next set of words, so she says it with little hesitation—however, her disappointment is still very much present in her voice. “... hey! hello! alright so uh my initial plan for gifts was to avoid asks/submits and go the ‘optional to reply to’ thread route, but after throwing out a few, i find that i might have taken on too much ( since i also have starter replies and replies in general i owe too ) so i’ll have to try it this far more simple way! below i’ve listed tagged the remaining folks she’s yet to give a gift to! i apologize if i’ve contacted you personally about a thread, i hope that this still makes up for that! if you’re not tagged in here but are a castmate and/or she knows your character well ( yes that includes pre-established friendships!! ) then just scroll to the bottom of this cos she still got them something too! and of course, feel free to mention these in a thread!

i’m too proud about these gifts so i still want them to be received so without further ado, onward to the gift giving!!

ofmartritz mercie is super special to annie, therefore i actually had several different ideas and had difficulty deciding settling on two ( not one, two, cos i thought i’d make it easier on myself ). so in the end, mercie gets two gifts that annette worked on basically non stop for the past two weeks or so! the first is a pair of mason jar votive candles! the inside is carefully painted one coating of white ( which was probably the hardest part to do ), all save for two small ‘windows’ adjacent from one another. the windows show off the flame inside, though i should also mention that rather than it being an actual flame, it’s a fake one, powered by a battery! around the flame are sparkles and fluff, to kind of give it that winter feel! she hopes they’re powerful enough to illuminate her room! with it being battery powered, it means it can be reused too:) the second gift is a carefully painted teacup set! she bought a pack containing four in total, and they all had white finish! she painted over all four, however two were designed specifically for mercie, and the other two were designed for herself! so it’s like, a matching teacup set for their tea time!! the colours on mercie’s matches her own colour composition, so the beige/light blueish purple colour scheme she has going! oh and if you’re wondering why they both get two, it’s just in case one breaks u__u she’s thinking ahead!

aurulent​ because i’ve started this trend where everyone gets more than one gift, claude gets more than one too! the first is the far more important however! she was really stumped with what to get him, but then she recalled how he got his wyvern back, and how tiny she is now! despite annette having not met her yet, formally anyhow, she still doesn’t hesitate getting him ( and her ) this gift! so what claude will find is a custom made ( she went to a shop to get this done, she did not make it herself, she’s not that good ) wyvern? whistle? yep! i still gotta come with an official name for it, but that is what it is if i’m to put it simply! it’s exterior is smooth and polished, and it’s carved out of wood! on its sides are neat designs of wings! it’s about the size of a palm, a bit smaller, and it comes with a small pouch! for the sake of convenience however, it’s also attached to a braided, yet thin black rope, so if he prefers to have it around his neck, there’s that option too! this island isn’t exactly familiar, so if they ever lose each other ( hopefully they won’t though u__u ) annette hopes that they can find each other again faster using it! since this isn’t just a gift for him though, she kinda backtracks and gets him a few optical illusion books too! she personally loves them, so with any luck, claude will too! he... likes solving things... right?

and @ everyone who is either a castmate, or a friend, or both! logically annette would get gifts for a lot of people, i’m not exaggerating oghkfj so everyone else gets a really cool snow globe! what’s inside it? why, it’s a mini version of them next to a snow man! how long has she been working on this? months! finally she can rest

Despite considering him a friend, Lio was a difficult individual to shop for. They got along pretty well, and yet the question of what he would appreciate lingered in her mind as she was shopping. Unfortunately it was an inquiry that would be left a mystery ( for now anyhow ), as she had little time to dwell on it. As of this moment, she did have one gift for him in hand, a personalized chess set, supposedly a limited edition, but that alone wasn’t enough. “Something practical... or useful might be good choice...” Just as she’s mumbling to herself as she turns the corner, she spots an item that fits the description she just gave. “... A pendant imbued with a locator spell...?” Besides the magical properties it held, the crystal rock that hung from it was a stunning aquamarine colour. The more she thought on it, the more she thought that it would look rather nice on him. With that, she wastes no time purchasing it and heading towards Lio’s residence shortly afterwards.

As luck would have it, he appears before her upon knocking on the door. It’s then that she holds out two neatly packaged gifts towards him with a smile. “Made it! Here you go, Lio! Happy Holidays!”

“Keep going, a liiittle more further... okay, right there! Stop!” Seeing as how they were virtually the same height, Annette ( more or less ) jumped at the opportunity to be able to cover Tsuru’s gaze with her hands from the back. It still wasn’t as effective as she’d like, since Tsuru wasn’t that much shorter than Annette herself, but that hadn’t stopped her. Once they’ve reached their intended destination ( it took a bit longer than the ginger had hoped ), her hands, which had been hovering over Tsuru’s eyes up until now, move back away from her. “Okay! You can open your eyes now!” Upon doing as much, Tsuru is met with the cozy interior of a cabin; its fireplace had already been lit, and the table’s ( which had been at the other end of the cabin ) surface had been partially concealed with a nicely designed quilt. An assortment of food and beverages were lined across it, and nearing the centre was a knit set of purple mittens, a scarf and a hat. Finally, in the midst of those items lay a miniature setting depicting a hill full of flowers; on top of it were two, tiny figures who appeared to be Tsuru herself and an individual that she had come to care about a great deal.

“I might have practised every day in order to perfect this knitting technique! It’s still a bit off, but I’m really glad that they came out alright in the end!” Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to gift it to her. “And, uh... as for this thing, I just thought... well, I know how much he means to you! And I know how lonely being here can get, so I thought seeing someone familiar might help...” It dawns on her that she might have overstepped her boundaries, but she hopes that isn’t the case.

It was a bit early to be gift giving, but she figures since she has the time, she might as well get started on that. First on her list was an individual she deeply admired for her strength, beauty and will to forge on ahead. Annette wastes little time making her way to Byleth’s residence, hoping to catch her while she’s in ( as she expects that she too would be busy during these next few days especially ). Gift in hand, Annette now stands right outside her door; she hesitates knocking however, taking one deep breath before doing so. A few minutes pass before she finally hears the faint sound of the door being unlocked from the inside. Just as she begins to wonder ( and worry ) who’s on the other side of the door, she’s met with Byleth herself, who appears slightly surprised by Annette’s spontaneous visit. Despite practising what to say vaguely on her way here, Annette still blanks on words on account of being nervous.

“Er, uh, hello Professor! Here you go! A gift for you!” It could’ve been said better, that was for sure, but it gets the message across at the very least. What she hands to Byleth is a personalized gift featuring a potted plant that she placed in herself. The pot sports an array of vibrant colours ( bright enough to light a room she hopes ) and the flowers were a set of Angelicas, which conveys Annette’s admiration for her Professor. Lastly, around the top and narrow part of the pot was an intricately designed white gold locket, which could be opened should the wearer wish to place a photo of someone or somewhere special within it.

“Aha! Nice try, but no mistletoe will get the better of me! Ugh... there are so many of them now...” She just wanted to get in some quick, last minute shopping. “Whatever happened to saving kisses for that one person that mattered...” At least winter was finally officially here, the one bright thing here—well, may be not for others.
