Rude? He was rude? Bartz could only scratch his head at that, but he did indeed stop to face the man once more. However, seeing the smirk and hearing that there is a porposal of sorts? It got him curious. "So going on a treasure hunt then? Heh I'm all for that! But wait.... what did you mean by your kind?" The guy looked normal... human at least. "Whats to stop me from getting your treasure and just taking off with it?" He asked, arms folded over his chest and a light snicker playing at his lips. Course, he wouldn't do that, just teasing the guy really.

"Wait, please—I apologize for my former rudeness…" Balthier smirked. “Perhaps… you can help me. You see, there is a treasure of great worth to me in a tomb not far from here, but it is enchanted to keep my kind out… but you—it might not stop you… So? What do you say? I promise to make it worth your time, and you will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts." There was treasure to be taken along the way, of course—but the true prize was something far more valuable in Balthier’s eyes. If the boy wanted to find any of it, he’d just have to come along.

The mans lack of enthusiasm didn't bother Bartz in the least. He was taking a nap when he came up after all.  But he shook the other's hand in a firm grip before stepping back and locking his fingers behind his head. "Yup! Doesn't mean I won't go looking for treasure or anything if it comes up." Should the opportunity arise, and funny enough, it usually did. Even if it was a dead end most of the time. The experience was still worth it. "Heh well I guess I should let you nap. Sorry about that."

Balthier shook the proffered hand. The boy was entirely too cheerful at this time in the day, and Balthier’s answer somewhat betrayed his lack of enthusiasm. “Balthier," he answered without a smile. Bartz reminded him vaguely of Vaan—it seemed that not much could get him down, and the thirst for adventure would ever call out to him, no matter where he was. “So you come simply on travel, Bartz? There is nothing you seek?" To meet a man who traveled simply for pleasure in these times was rare.

"Ivalice." He repeated, smiling and nodding to himself before looking back at the other male. "Nope! Never even heard of this place before. Probably because I'm from a completely different world but... details!" He waved a hand dismissively, chuckling lightly. "Say, I didn't introduce myself did I? I'm Bartz!" He chirped, extending a hand out to the other.

"The last I checked, this place was called Ivalice," Balthier replied. “The land we are in was once part of the Archadian Empire. It has long been laid to waste… time was not kind to it. But I am certain the ruins still hold treasure for those who seek it." He rose to his feet, dusting grass from his backside and shrugging bark from his shirt. “You are not from here in the least, are you?"

"Ah, all of the above?" He chuckled to himself lightly. "Minus the directions, I just like going from place to place as I want to." He nodded, hands placed on his hips as he glanced around the place. "I would like to know where we are though. Whats the name of this place?"

Balthier opened his eyes wearily, only to be greeted by a sunny smile and a jaunty wave. “New to this place," he repeated. “This means that you desire aid. Tell me—are you a thief, treasure seeker, or merely a young boy who desires directions?"

A new world to discover, and from what Bartz has seen of it so far, it was pretty intriguing! Especially with all the ruins that where around the land. But it was while he was travelling across a nice field, a little outside of some large city, that he spotted what appeared to be a man underneath a tree. Curiosity getting the better of him, Bartz approached the other. "Heya!" He called out with a wave and an inviting smile. "Heh sorry. Didn't mean to disturb your nap. I'm just kind of new to this place."

It was rare for Balthier to have a spot of peace and quiet, between running hectic missions for Ragnarok, taking care of his children, and keeping his wife happy. So today, to reward himself for a hard day’s work, he had settled beneath a tree for a nap—unfortunately for him, peace did not usually last long…
