Open Call for Window Project
Inspired by some of the projects we came across when writing Art in Random Spaces. We thought we will have our own Art in Random Spaces project - the Window Project.
Window Project's aim is to expose your art to a new audience. We will do this by taking advantage of the foot traffic that some of the Free Spaces venues have (Bricklane gets around a 30,000 visitors during the weekend, that means around 30,000 people see the window of Monty's).
The idea of the Window Project is simple we will take over the window display at 2 or 3 of Free Spaces venues each month. Each month we will showcase a different artist, in each window we will exhibit one work. So depending on the month you will have 2 to 3 works displayed in the windows of some of the busiest locations in Europe.
The Window Project is open to artists registered, and not registered with Free Spaces, however slightly different terms will apply to both:
- Free Spaces artists will be at liberty to choose if they want to sell their work or not. And if they choose to sell Art Map will be taking no commission if sold in real life, and 30% commission if sold over the project website.
- not registered with Free Spaces artists will have to have their work available for sale. Art Map will be taking 45% commission if the work is sold in real life or via the project website.
To apply to the project email [email protected] with a link to your website, an artist CV (if you have one), and 2 to 4 works that you would like to show in a window.
