whenever I get a ~weird~ thought that seems like it might be from a spirit or deity, it must pass through three steps of authentication before I even consider believing it, much less acting on it.

step one: I need to have eaten at least three nutritious meals (at reasonable times) prior to the thought.

step two: I must have gotten at least six hours of sleep prior to the thought.

and step three: I must have taken all my medications in the past 48 hours.

to all my folks with hallucinations, delusions, intrusive thoughts, and other similar things: I love you, please stay safe and take care of yourself. differentiating between mental illness and spiritual contact is tricky business. place your health and wellbeing above all else. <3

My deepest darkest fantasy is that I collapse on the street and I am rushed to the hospital. They perform a bunch of tests and find out I am severely deficient in some kind of vitamin. Then I start taking the vitamin and I become the happiest cleverest person alive because all my problems were caused by this one deficiency

tbh loose leaf tea is an incredibly effective and cost-friendly substitute for so many herbs and florals. there's basically infinite options, many of which are already combined with complimentary herbs/spices/florals.

it's so easy to just... brew a cup of tea. set an intention, pick out your herbs, maybe use some charged water, and then imbibe the drink to finish the flow of magic- from you to the universe and back to you.

something I do that I've found helpful is enchanting my meds: I charge my melatonin with moonlight, keep my psychiatric meds in a little bowl with several amethyst and clear quartz crystals, write sigils for strength and endurance on the bottles of my pain meds, etc.

this helps form a link between the literal, chemical healing of my medicines and the spiritual healing of my magic, keeping me within a healthy balance of the physical / metaphysical world.
