How to Create a Magical Gem Elixir
A gem elixir is a potion created in a magical or sacred way, which has been infused with the energies of a stone or crystal. Gem elixirs are easy to make and are effective for a variety of purposes, especially for long-term healing.
First, you will need to select a stone that suits the goal of your spell and make certain that it is thoroughly cleansed. I’ve covered cleansing in other posts. The short version is that most - not all - gemstones can be cleansed in a solution of sea salt and water.
You may want to consider one of the following for your gem elixir: - Rose Quartz Elixir: to heal a broken heart and learn self love. - Obsidian Elixir: to help surrender negative habits and bring about change and clarity. - Fluorite Elixir: to awaken the powers of astral projection and enhance spirit journeys, as well as to keep negativity at bay. - Agate Elixir: as an aphrodisiac potion - add a couple of drops to your lover’s drink, with his or her permission. - Citrine Elixir: to help manifest your goals; it attracts abundance and personal power, and helps to keep you cheerful. - Lapis Lazuli Elixir: to move through confusion and emotional blocks. - Blue Lace Agate Elixir: to help ease the physical effects of stress and tension. - Hematite Elixir: for grounding and to help if you’re prone to avoiding worldly tasks by out-of-body flight. - Emerald Elixir: to help heal the trauma of violence, abuse or rape. - Jade Elixir: for serene and calming energy. - Amethyst Elixir: to help you tune into a higher awareness of knowing. - Sodalite Elixir: to increase your creativity and vision. - Turquoise Elixir: to help you learn spiritual lessons through meditation or dream visions. - Kyanite Elixir: to facilitate channeling and open communications for contact with your guides and angels
For the best results, every item you plan to use should be cleansed inside your magic circle to avoid introducing any unwanted energies to your spell.
A couple of general rules: (1) Any elixir that will be used for physical purposes or bodily healing should be created with sunlight; and (2) Any elixir that will be used for magical, psychic or mental purposes should be created with moonlight.
You will be leaving the crystal, water and containers outside under the Moon or the Sun, depending upon the type of elixir you are making. You want to let the clear light of the Moon or Sun shine on the stone and the water for at least three hours. It is important that the stone and the water get at least this much time under pure sunlight or moonlight, not just hazy light filtering through the clouds. Aim to make your elixir on clear, cloudless day or night.
Here are the steps for making a gem elixir:
You will need: A glass jar A glass bowl A clear lid or plastic wrap Rainwater, natural spring water, non-carbonated mineral water or tap water
Instructions: 1) Nestle the glass jar inside of the glass bowl. Place the cleansed crystal in the bowl next to the jar.
2) Fill the jar with natural spring water or rainwater if you can. If neither of those are available to you, use bottled non-carbonated mineral water or tap water. Fill the bowl outside the jar with any of these waters.
3) Place the clear plastic wrap or clear lid atop the bowl and jar to keep out bugs and prevent animals from drinking from it. Don’t use a metal lid.
4) Place the bowl outside for anywhere between 3 hours all the way up to overnight during a Full Moon.
5) After three hours or the next morning, dispose of the water in the bowl. Transfer the water from the jar into dropper bottles.
6) If the now-bottled elixir will be used over a long period of time, add one of the following to prevent bacterial growth: apple cider vinegar, vegetable glycerine or brandy (for adults).
7) For best results, take three to four drops of the gem elixir under your tongue, three times daily for at least a month. Or take three to four drops of the elixir in a glass of water three times a day.
Since this is a magical elixir, doubling your dose will not double the effects. Gem elixirs are designed to be taken in small doses. When you take the elixir, pause for a moment and thank the spirit of the stone for its help.
Notes: (1) Some crystals should not be cleansed with salt, due to possible damage from a chemical reaction. These crystals include: calcite, carnelian, labradorite, lepidolite, malachite, moldavite, opal, turquoise and ulexite.
(2) Some crystals may fade in sunlight, if left there beyond a few hours. These crystals include: amethyst, ametrine, aquamarine, aventurine, citrine, celestite, chrysoprase, fluorite, kunzite, opal, rose quartz, smokey quartz, topaz and turquoise.

Urban tools: Sunglasses.
Okay so sunglasses are like my favorite things ever. They can be used for basically three things, in my experience: Glamour, invisibility, and protection.
Glamour: You’re wearing things that are designed to make people look cooler. Put the energy into them, trace the frames and tap the lenses to put energy into them. A lot of this is about stance, too. So much of urban glamour is about how you walk and how you hold yourself. Standing up straight is itself a good protective ward; it gives the impression that you’re aware of your surroundings and you won’t go down without a fight and a lot of people will go for an easier target just from that. But I digress.
Invisibility: A different kind of glamour, and one that relies heavily on your stance. Don’t slouch, don’t hurry but don’t slow down. Put on the sunglasses and take advantage of their power to conceal your eyes. Expand on that. No one knows if you’re looking at them, no one knows who you are. Build on that energy. Walk like you belong, don’t say a word to anyone, and watch how people just ignore you. It’s not technically invisibility; it’s a sense of nothing-to-see-here.
Protection: Sunglasses protect your eyes from the sun, so with the same kind of evocation you use to make yourself invisible or attractive, you can surround yourself with a ward using your sunglasses.
