“You’re lucky I love you.” John breathed as Martha came back with her paints, chuckling softly as she kissed his cheek. He would’ve agreed whether or not she waited long enough for his true answer; John was weak, couldn’t say no to Martha even if he wanted to. She was an angel, to be certain, the sweetest person he’d ever met, the best woman. And he was lucky enough to have this absolute sunshiney, wonderful person’s attention on him, and it brought such a smile to his face. “I know I will, because it’s you doing this.” He hummed softly, letting his eyes close as he relaxed further. “Do your magic, love.”

                    “’ m  just  about  the  luckiest  girl  in  the  whole  wide  world,”   martha  mumbles  happily,   runs  her  fingers  briefly  through  john’ s  curls.   she  seriously  loves  him  with  every  fiber  of  her  being   -   she  has  no  idea  how  she  became  so  lucky  as  to  meet  john  in  the  first  place.   she’ s  happy  that  she  did,   though,   finds  him  to  be  one  of  the  most  amazing  and  most  gorgeous  people  she’ s  ever  met.   “you’ re  too  sweet  for  your  own  good,   you  know,”   she  says  quietly,   smiles  fondly  as  she  pops  open  some  of  her  paints,   squeezes  some  color  out  onto  one  of  her  palettes.   she  picks  up  one  of  her  brushes,   gets  some  pigment  onto  it  before  painting  a  few  strokes  against  his  skin.   she  briefly  glances  towards  john’ s  face  to  see  how  he  reacts  to  the  cold  liquid  against  his  back.

                    martha  had,   in  passing,   while  she  was  sitting  on  the  back  of  his  hips  and  giving  him  an  absent  massage   (he  really  seemed  to  need  it,   he  had  a  lot  of  tension  in  his  shoulders),   told  john  that  he  should  let  her  paint  something  on  him.   for  a  long  while,   she  had  a  concept  for  a  little  painting   -   a  little  night  sky  scene  with  hers  and  john’ s  star  signs  highlighted  in  the  stars.   she  noticed  some  of  his  freckles,   when  she  traced  them,   made  up  her  sign  of  capricorn  and  inspiration  struck.   she  didn’ t  let  john  answer,   just  shot  up  and  ran  off  towards  her  little  art  room  to  gather  some  of  her  paints  and  brushes.   she  returns  happily,   plops  down  against  john’ s  side.   “you’ re  gonna  look  so  pretty,”   she  murmurs  excitedly,   leans  forward  and  presses  a  little  kiss  against  his  cheek  before  opening  up  her  paints.

                    martha  really  enjoys  knitting.   she  knits  a  lot,   knits  things  for  all  of   the  people  closest  to  her   (in  mom  verse,   she  took  up  knitting  after  her  husband  left  her  and  their  daughter.   in  college  verse,   she  took  up  knitting  from  seeing  her  mother  knit  things  for  her  youngest  siblings).   she  never  really  has  time  to  knit,   what  with  her  busy  schedule.   she  does  find  time,   though;   on  her  days  off  and  before  she  falls  asleep,   she  manages  to  catch  up  on  some  knitting.   mostly,   she  makes  hats  and  scarves,   but  she  has  dabbled  in  making  sweaters,   though  she’ s  not  very  good  with  sweaters  yet.
