not Brazilian, but I can confirm they infact are the rebuceteio gang and I now want to write a fic about that
I'd make a joke about how the warriors are the definition of a rebuceteio, but then I'd have to explain to gringos what is a rebuceteio and I'm not sure I can handle it

I have a genuine question for the warriors musical fandom, where did the Cochise war veteran thing come from? Like- I have no clue what or why, it doesn't make much sense (to me)
I'm just squinting at her trying to figure out what's giving "I was in the army" from this gang member
#cochise warriors#warriors concept album#warriors musical#warriors album#the warriors musical#I'M JUST SO CONFUSED#WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THIS *GANG MEMBER* WAS IN THE ARMY

I'm no expert on gangs, but there are a few in my area and I do know a bit from my own research
1 . at least around here infighting is common, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Ajax would jump Swan, or anyone in the gang realy
2. she would not get kicked out for it, she'd be beat up, maybe killed. But unless she asks, she would not be jumped out
And not related to gangs in general, but for Ajaxes character: Ajax is insane. She has very little trigger on violence and murder. We know that she has a loyalty to her gang when it comes to this (beating up the cop for hitting on them), but we also know that this might not really apply to Swan (She says nothing when Mercy is hitting on Swan initially, something that is dubiously appropriate and could be considered within the same vein as catcalling) So she might be willing to turn on Swan as they have a rivalry and she doesn't go to bat for her here While the comics haven't been confirmed to be cannon within the musical universe, within the comics there is a plotline related to this. You could take this both ways. Ajax and Swan have battled it out for the position as second before, Ajax lost, and Swan attempted to leave Ajax in the dirty to presumably die. This could easily be taken that Ajax would grow resentment towards Swan for this. But it's also cannon within the comics that when Swan breaks Ajax out of prison after three months, it's then and only then that Ajax actually accepts Swan as warchief
Ohhkay ! I buried this deep in my soul because im shy, i dont understand how aO3 and tumblr works well, and the people here are different from twitter, TikTok, etc ( i mean fhis in the /pos way ever ) but. Ive seen 3 fics on this ( creds to those fics and the people who wrote them if i use ref during this ) and it makes me feel more free about talking about it.
Ajax fighting or technically almost killing swan for ( in my case ) nearly killing fox. I wrote a part of a fic about this and then deleted it because.. i can do better but! Ive seen 3 fics on it and i really wanted to talk about it. I had my own take on it.
Technically, in my book, both Ajax and Swan sees fox as a little sister, someone they’d quite literally die for. So I had an idea of Swan going through guilt and greif and running away from the situation, Rembrandt suffering with both greif and the fact that ajax is in jail, by the way none of them know that fox ( again, headcanon ) that fox is alive. Ajax gets home, Swan knows ajax will be livid and runs away from the situation. ( spoiler, ajax finds her anyway ) and! Shit goes down !
I had an idea that ajax does literally try to kill swan, because yknow.. my little sister is gone because of you.. you need to go too.. but i feel like it’d be out of character, plus, she’d probably get kicked from the gang, however that works !
I do. Want to try to write this again but im kinda scared to !
#comics aren't confirmed to be cannon and I have a bad memory so don't take this as gospel#but those are some things to consider#you should definitely write your piece though!#Ajax would easily snap and try to kill Swan as that's likely what Ajax was attempting to do in the fight#Ajax just lost because Swan is yahknow#a way better fighter

pretty sure Ajax tried to bite a chunk out of that undercover cop when he assaulted her as well 😭
mercy’s “do you think I bite or something?” line is deeply funny to me given that not only is cowgirl’s whole saga happening as they speak, but in the movie mercy is indeed the only character who bites anyone

That totally makes sense! Me personally I always connected Alonso and Ajax because to me they seem like the strongest foils to Rembrandt, while they might not have similar storylines, both have a strong connection to Rembrandt and (to me at least), seem to warn about the type of person Rembrandt will end up being if he continues down his current path. So my brain links them as they seem to serve some of the same story purpose. But Lunkface 100% makes total sense as well and is definitely the more correct interpretation, Alonso being Ajax is just my personal interpretation, although Ajax definitely took in a lot from all of the novel characters.
Well, we know for a fact that both Miranda and Davis are going to be working on the musical all throughout the year and in their Spotify they talked about sort of expanding things, and there is a good chance that this musical version could be almost as long as Hamilton I mean at least an hour and 60 something minutes almost clocking in at 2 hours).
My question to you all is what things would you like to be added be it a character song, maybe a specific plot point, or any missing characters that were impressive from the book and or movie.

ajax and swan’s relationship is so important to me bc there’s so much care and respect there. and their matching “I’m worthless if I’m not protecting the people around me” complexes manifest in such opposite directions that they could have been designed in a lab to piss each other off
#warchiefs#the fact that the order of them joining the warriors is Cleon -> Swan -> Ajax within the musical and they're just#they have such a delicate dynamic that relies on so much respect and trust#and a good deal of annoyance#and Ajax joining only a little after Swan so that they're in their own bubble together and just kinda#forced to get along#URGH I love them

I would want Snow and Vermin back obviously, even though it would mess with a lot of characters (EG Cowgirl), HOWEVER, I'd most want to bring back things from the original 1965 novel (this is just me being obsessed with it), but the 1965 novel was the most accurate to gang life and activity, and had very different points to what warriors has now. The novel was an extreme criticism of toxic masculinity, gang culture, and how gang culture takes advantage of children. It also had an (un)healthy dose of nihilism.
One character that exhibited this was Alonso, who was later turned into the character we now know as Ajax, Rembrandts older brother. I'd most want Alonso to be brought back, as his character is the easiest way to bring back those themes without loosing too much focus on the warriors themselves.
Well, we know for a fact that both Miranda and Davis are going to be working on the musical all throughout the year and in their Spotify they talked about sort of expanding things, and there is a good chance that this musical version could be almost as long as Hamilton I mean at least an hour and 60 something minutes almost clocking in at 2 hours).

one thing that i think is interesting with Rembrandts age in the warriors musical is the change. Obviously, the original novel, Rembrandt is assumed to be the youngest (not confirmed), and in the movie, is the youngest (confirmed). Because of that, Rembrandts character was built off of being the youngest. Each choice made for Rembrandt was made based off of being the youngest.
While in the new musical, Fox is the youngest (which is an argument on it's own). However, Rembrandt is still characterized as if she's the youngest. And we can still assume she's in highschool as she is in the original
All of her lines are delivered as if she's wide-eyed, eager to prove. While some parts that do make her seem younger have been cut "Hey guys! Wait up!", some other parts have been kept. "I found coney island on this map!" One specific thing about this interaction in particular is that when Rembrandt is teased, she's rescued. But the language used is what you'd use when absently comforting a child. "It's okay, nobody can read these maps anyways."
One other major part is Rembrandts interaction with the Bizzies (formerly known as the Lizzies). In the original, Rembrandt does interact with them, but doesn't get nearly as far as the other members because of his age. However, in the newer version, we still see that happening. Rembrandt is hesitant and not as into it.
While I think that there's an argument for Rembrandt being an adult until proven otherwise, I just think all of her character is built off of being a child. That's her tragedy, that's her motive, that's her backstory.
#i'll probably post about this more later#but Rembrandt is the lone survivor of the novel#she's still connected back to the 1965 version and that's very special to me#she's just a baby#that's the whole point#warriors album#warriors musical#the warriors musical#rembrandt#rembrandt (warriors)

I always figured it had something to do with the line "You done catcalled your last child motherfucker" (while this might not be correct because I am deaf, this is just how I hear it)
Ajax talks about how this character catcalls children, this could refer to two things
1. Rembrandt, who in warriors cannon, is a highschool student. And therfore a child. So she could be defending it as in "Don't hit on highschool kids you fucking creep"
or
2. Ajax is projecting the undercover cop being into kids on him because of experiences she's had in her past. Beating him up to try to heal a part of herself that she wants to die, trying to hurt him because nobody was there to save her, so maybe if she does this, she can save herself
I hate to think this but while everyone is upset Ajax fought that undercover cop and possibly see her as picking a fight, I feel like her doing that had so much more deeper meaning to it, possibly connecting to her past. Sure, getting catcalled as a female is 'normal' in society but most people ignore it. I wonder why Ajax was so worked up about it.

this is hilarious because in the originals Mercy is just- all that and more, some things that are also cannon is that she:
two times as many men as possible to get what she wants
steals clothes to change into, outsmarting cops despite none of the warriors having thought of that
cheats on Swan and when confronted just kinda goes "so what?!"
is held at the throat by a large gang of men threatening her life, doesn't flinch
pits two gangs against each other just to watch them fight for fun
cheers when the warriors start to attack a random passerby with knives, encouraging them
does the whole thing in heels
she might not be a great person, but she's smart and witty, so for that, she'll always have a part of my heart. (she is insane I fear)
Guys. Can we talk about how insane Mercy is for a second.
Even just the way she's introduced. The Orphans are letting the Warriors are pass through peacefully, but Mercy comes in and says "Hmm, No."
Calls all the boys bitches and chickens. Says they're idiots for falling for a pretty face. Demands Swann to undress. Forces the Orphans to have fight the Warriors.
But then The Warriors start an explosion, possibly maiming and killing every boys she's ever known. And Mercy's reaction is. "Oh I'm going to completely uproot my life to follow this girl"
Barely two minutes have passed. What happened to not falling for a pretty face? Her only interaction with these people is demanding their clothes, and starting a fight.
She doesn't ask either. She just starts chasing them, no questions asked. Completely convinced they'll just let her come. Doesn't know where they're going, doesn't even know their names.
Spends the rest of the plot she takes the role of starting fights with strangers and insisting shes part of the gang.
Even when she finds out that thousands of people are trying to murder them, she doesn't seem discouraged from joining. Doesn't even question it. Says "oh yeah, guess we're wanted dead for murder"
Chooses to risk her life for people she barely even knows. Doesnt seem to have experience fighting - starts beating people up anyway.
Swann asks if she's loyal. Mercy says I'm loyal to you ;). She met this woman five hours ago. Then she asks her why aren't you kissing me yet,??
I'm pretty sure she's the best character in all of media?

losing my mind as a fan of the original franchise!!! /pos
in the warriors comics, it talks about how Swan is infact, a better fighter than Ajax. The two fight to see who can be Cleons second, with Ajax losing by a lot. We don't get to see the details of this fight, but Swan is known from the video games to be more coordinated, smarter, meeting Ajax in arm strength, and beating Ajax in leg strength
Can we talk for a second about how Swan is, like, the baddest bitch in the Warriors? 🤌 That's how I'm reading the lyrics, at least lmfao. Like Swan fully thinks it's Ajax, but the rest of the crew knows it's her.
In the Finale, when they're remembering their lost members, Swan calls Ajax "the toughest". But back in Woodlawn Cemetery, when Ajax tried to challenge Swan's position, all the other members immediately sided with Swan. Fox even says, "We lost Cleon, we can't lose you too".
Now, this could be them all saying, "hey, we're going to follow the hierarchy that was already in place, don't rock the boat" BUT it could also be them saying, "girl, Swan will beat your ass, get back in line".
Then, in Reunion Square, when Fox is fighting the cop, she says, "Swan would have beat him, but I am no Swan." Again, this could simply be that Swan is the best fighter now that Ajax is gone or that Fox holds Swan in higher regard than Ajax in general, but with the way she reacted in Woodlawn Cemetery and the fact that she is literally fighting for her life, it feels more like Fox has always thought Swan is the best.
Anyways, I just think that's a cool way to see it. Ajax IS a bad bitch, but they all know Swan is THE bad bitch.

one thing for the warriors fandom from the comics that I think is just a cool detail: Rembrandt is a highschool student. This was explored in 'The Warriors: Jailbreak' comic (which is considered still cannon), with the side plot of flashbacks focusing on the relationship between Ajax, Rembrandt, and Rembrandts schooling
That's a piece of cannon to do with what you wish!
#I am very scared of remjax shippers#I wish I was kidding but no#legitimately terrified#but YES she in in highschool within the cannon and I wish that was utilized more#Fox is the youngest but they're still almost the same age#Fox is younger by a hair I fear#remjax#ajax warriors#the warriors comics#the warriors: jailbreak#warriors album#warriors fandom#warriors musical#the warriors movie#warriors (1979)#the warriors musical#warriors movie#rembrandt (warriors)
