it's official ---------------- this blog is now an archive, and you can now find sharon over at @thirt13n! i'm still in the process of moving stuff over, mainly headcanons and aesthetic stuff i want to reblog over there at some point. other than that, she's all ready to go.

You're not imagining it -- reblog notifications are broken.

Tumblr's most recent update made it so you will no longer receive notifications in your activity feed when you reblog or interact with your own posts. This is a fine idea, but it has a major issue. If you reblog a post that was originally yours from another person, neither you nor the person you reblogged from will be notified.

Let's say Person A makes a starter, and Person B reblogs it with a reply -- Person A will be notified of that reblog. Then Person A reblogs that from Person B to add their own reply -- Tumblr recognizes this as Person A interacting with their own post, so Person A won't be notified, but neither will Person B.

Considering that interaction I just described is the backbone of roleplaying on this site, this is a problem -- it means that any threads you're involved in that your partner wrote the starter for won't notify you correctly. It is incredibly easy to miss replies when this is happening.

I truly believe this was just an oversight and not done intentionally, but it should still be fixed. I have filled out a support form with staff informing them of the issue and I recommend that you do the same. Please remember to be polite! Simply explain what the issue is and why it's a problem. You can even link them to this post if you want.

In the meantime, the best method to avoid this is to @-mention your partner in replies, so that it will still show up in their activity feed no matter what. You can also use RPThreadTracker to keep an eye on your replies and make sure you don't miss anything.

random thursday night inbox call while i work on things

pspspspspsps(a) - i'm in the process of moving stuff over to a new clean blog for share over the weekend for a reboot. apparently, my thing is going to be moving every two years because i'll have been writing her for 4 years next month and this will be the second blog move ...

BUT ANYWAY THE IMPORTANT STUFF. there's going to be a shift as far as her main verse / the main focus of the blog ( and a URL change too it's a whole thing ). after a lot of deliberation and talking about doing it for MONTHS, share will be fandomless from now on with the focus being more on her persona as an operative and a spy and not in the context of mav*l alone. that doesn't mean her marv*l verses are going away, those will still be active and open for plotting and the like. it's just that my interpretation and theirs have been on very different trajectories for some time now, and it's finally time to give her the chance to truly shine on her own that she deserves.

threads and asks will be moved over, as well as dynamics ( if that's something you want to continue on the new blog i don't want anyone to feel pressured ------ sending her in a new direction might not be everyone's cup of tea and that's perfectly fine! ) any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to pop into my ims or inbox 🤍
